Wow! Came to visit with two other couples the $75 price. Fix meal was a wonderful way to taste the menu. Every dish was amazing and artistically displayed. Not a dish was a disappointment! Definitely would come back.

Chef Brian's food is amazing! If you're looking for world class food, this is the place. We go for the Prix Fix menu and have never been disappointed. The service and ambiance are great.

Food was amazing and I loved going during one of the nights they offered their Petit Prix Fixe half portion option. Best way to spend a Monday night anniversary when most other nice restaurants in the area were closed.

I see this restaurant is cash only. How much cash should I bring for a party of two?

I recommend with tip to have three hundred dollars with you. Of course it's BYOB but it's better to be prepared.

The sautéed radishes were wonderful as I never had them prepared this way. Mushroom toast and croustades of crab were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the duck breast frites and my husband said the chicken coq a vin was the he best he's ever eaten. My Mom had a special which was lamb lollipops which she enjoyed very much. We had the carrots and brussel sprouts as well -both delicious. We ended sharing the crepe cake - scrumptious! Did not get photos of everything and some are partially eaten as it all was so good! My husband, who has been to Paris and is very particular about his escargot, said it was the closest he has ever had to the real thing. That alone says a lot. We started with the mushroom toast, which was hands down the best toast we have ever had, along with deviled eggs topped with salmon roe that added the perfect burst of flavor. Every bite felt thoughtful and elevated. For our mains, we ordered the coq au vin and duck frites, and both were outstanding. The sauces were rich and balanced, and the meats were cooked perfectly. Dessert sealed the deal with crème brûlée and pot de crème. The crème brûlée, especially, was a masterpiece. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is small and charming with a cozy, intimate feel. The staff were warm and attentive and made the whole experience even better. This place deserves way more hype than it gets. If you are anywhere near Haddonfield, do not miss it.

Upset to learn that HGR had closed, I learned that Brian was back....at the aptly named "Brian's at the Grill", at the same great location! I love it when a restauranteur has the confidence to design a dinner service that he knows will serve his diners best. We appreciated the beautiful prix fixe menu, with plenty of diverse choices for appetizer, entree and dessert. I guess we've been married 37 years, since we made the same choices...tuna tartare and grilled Swordfish with a delicate lemon, caper and butter sauce. Everything was perfect...the mashed potatoes and al dente veggies ...amazing. We enjoy bringing our own wines and appreciate when the restaurant focuses solely on cooking and leaves the wine to us. And Lambertville has a wine shop a few blocks away. The restaurant accepts cash, personal checks and Venmo. I actually found that refreshing, since Venmo is so simple and they made us well aware when we made our reservation. Many restaurants are now charging a credit card fee for the convenience of using a card, which they rarely disclose; we found using Venmo a great option. Of course food reigns supreme, but not if the service is spotty or brusque. Patricia is a gem and greeted us so warmly and paced our meal graciously. She asked if we wanted to move on to our entree rather than assuming that the kitchen's timing matched ours. How often do you receive that type of treatment? We were stuffed after two courses and rather than pushing the pot de creme and bananas foster on us, again, she asked whether we'd prefer it in the restaurant or back at the hotel....and when we preferred the latter, she packaged them so we could take a breather! Pretty remarkable. We felt we had a new friend by the end of the meal....she is a real asset and has been with Brian for maybe 14 years(?). Front of house excellence complements kitchen talent at this special, twinkling place. We appreciated that we had the option of dining with them on a Monday night, when businesses may be closed in Lambertville or New Hope. Brian's back and we're so glad we found him and Patricia. Enjoy!

It's also BYOB, which makes it even better -- bring your favorite bottle and make a whole night out of it. The vibe is warm, intimate, and perfect for date night, but they also have a gorgeous outdoor space that can host up to 100 people, making it such a hidden gem for larger parties and celebrations. They opened in September 2019 -- just six months before the pandemic -- which makes what they've built even more impressive. It's truly family-driven. The husband, Manuel (from Spain), is the head chef, and you can absolutely taste the care and authenticity in every dish. Cindy, who is from Panama, brings so much heart to the restaurant as well. We started with Prince Edward Island oysters and the crab salad, which had crispy bacon pieces for a great touch of texture and the crab was incredibly fresh -- such a perfect balance of flavors and crunch. For entrées, the beef bourguignon was rich, comforting, and everything you'd hope for from a classic French dish. The Dover sole felt elegant and perfectly executed. We ended with the chocolate mousse, which was light, decadent, and the perfect sweet finish. And I have to mention our server -- Delroy was fabulous. Attentive, personable, and so knowledgeable. He truly elevated the entire experience. Between the ambiance, the hospitality, and the beautifully prepared food, La Provence is absolutely somewhere I'll be coming back to for an elevated night out.

One ladle's worth of tepid pea soup 3. A single scallop 4. A single lamb rib on top of 3 or 4 potato wedges (note the menu promised a "rack" of lamb) 5. A sliver of gelatinous chocolate cake This paltry meal took over 2 hours to dole out by servers who were severely understaffed and whom we saw perhaps once every 30 minutes. No one offered to refill our waters and we had to ask for bread service after realizing we had been forgotten about. I can forgive slow service, however. What I can't forgive is whoever looked at the portions they were serving last night and decided (1) that this was enough to feed someone, and (2) that it was worth charging $120 a head. I mean, we were literally paying $30 a plate for a single piece of food! Who serves a single scallop or a single lamb rib? Did they overbook and run out of food? This is more obnoxious than NYC prices (and at least if I'm paying $30 for a burger in NYC, I'm getting more food by mass than I received last night). After we had been there for over two hours with no dessert (or water refill) in sight, I had to leave my seat and hunt down a server across the restaurant so I could get my check. We were starving and ordered takeout on the way home. Incredibly disappointing.

Part of the new Marketplace on River Road, Hopewell, NJ, the shop feels cozy and continental from the boulangerie (bakery) display of delicious looking French breads, glass display case full of luscious fruit pastry , to the glass enclosed creperie corner where a skilled chef works the round hot steel grill to prepare a variety of sweet or savory delights. I opted for a breakfast oriented savory with local country sausage, soft swiss cheese, reduced onion and greens, all done while I watched behind the glass, and finished with careful folds and insertion into insulated wrapping paper followed by a white thin cardboard cone. Its wonderful flavor lingers on my tongue as I draft this review. The Lemon Brioche was likewise amazing to behold and exemplary to consume. Soft, sweet, tart at heart from excellent lemon cream and an eye rolling experience. The Cafe Americaine was the perfect washdown and palette cleanser. Loved almost everything about L'Annexe, but the cost. The above came in at $26, plus tip. Certainly can't be a routine petit dejuene, nor should it be. But, when the moment calls for sweet or savory indulgences, Mamie Colette belongs on your bucket list.
