The family running the restaurant is very sweet, and the service is fantastic. We split some potstickers (the fried ones are super crisp and everything comes out piping hot) and ramen. The ramen was a sizable portion and the broth was tasty. Plenty of filling; we left totally satisfied. Definitely worth a stop.

We ordered the vegetarian maki rolls which were quite fresh and tasty, and the vegetarian ramen which... honestly wasn't good. The broth was alright, pretty flavourful. The noodles seemed packaged. The real issue was the heaps of frozen vegetables on top - carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and corn. Definitely, obviously from a standard frozen bag. Watery and just out of place in a ramen. Additionally, I have to say the bathroom wasn't clean. There was pink mold around the taps and paper on the floor. I wish this family everything good, and I know they are working super hard running two restaurants, I hesitate to post anything negative but really hope the feedback can be useful and help them succeed bigger and better.

We enjoyed the late summer trees and people watching around the patio. Our server was really funny, speaking French, English, and a splash of Spanish. I originally wanted the beef salad, but he recommended the salmon poke bowl ("deconstructed sushi!") for more vegetables. (He didn't seem to know that poke is Hawaiian and sushi is Japanese, but poke appears often in Asian restaurants in this area.) He was right--the salmon bowl provided lots of crispy raw vegetables, and enough carbs to power me through the hike. The poke was unlike any I've had at an authentic Hawaiian place, though. It was like tuna salad, except instead of canned tuna I got raw or salted salmon (I couldn't tell which). I didn't touch the side sauce, which looked like tartar sauce. The salmon mayonnaise provided plenty of flavor for the vegetables and rice, and I ate the whole thing. My friend's spouse finished his fried rice, another good sign. But my friend didn't like the ramen. She said the broth was flavored with soy sauce and coconut milk--neither Japanese nor Southeast Asian. Her kids didn't finish their pho or pad thai, perhaps because there was too much for them. After tasting both, my friend ended up eating the pad thai. I'm glad we tried this place. It's a novelty amid the predictable overpriced North American and European food one finds in a touristy area. If I find myself in this area again, I'll probably try someplace else first, though.

We found ourselves stuck between a rock (mediocre tremblant restaurant) and a hard place (another…read moremediocre tremblant restaurant) and so we figured we'd give this place a shot. I got a poke bowl and the salmon kind of tasted like the chef's mom told him to defrost the salmon and he said he'd do it but then he lost track of time playing club penguin and so he tried to run it under hot water before she got home and accidentally cooked it halfway (not from personal experience or anything). The ramen was -- to put it mildly -- flavourless! And I have no idea what dish my sister ordered but it tasted like instant noodles smothered in soy sauce. The only points this restaurant gets is for the waitress being lovely and for the wagyu gyoza.

The service was slow but the waiter made up for it with his humour. We weren't in a rush but if you…read moreare this probably would be more of a problem. The waiter was serving the front cash with take away orders, answering phones and also waitering for the entire restaurant. They should have had a waiter for the front desk and another for the restaurant tables. Food came out pretty quickly though, just took a while to order it. The cleanliness of the tables were also a little gross if you're a germ-a-phobe. There was still some gunk on the placemats and a lot of tables around weren't cleaned up yet. If cleaned it seems like it was a very quick wipe down and reset of the tables between customers. The food however is where they get saved. The beef skewers were *chefs kiss*. Uber delicious. The red curry was spicy but creamy and delicious. The pad thai was only so-so. It was more the flavour of watery soya sauce with a side of fish sauce to dip the noodles into. The peanuts were really good and the waiter graciously asked and brought more peanuts for the dish. The chicken in the meal was very fresh tasting and cooked well. Will return for the beef skewers and curry but not the pad thai. Small gem in the rural Casselman area.
