    50$ Steak
    Sander V.

We went a little bit later in the evening around 8ich and there wasn't a lot of people. We didn't wait to get a table and the staff was very nice. It's a nice and well dressed place. Staff were sharp and nicely dressed, waiters were friendly but didn't actually explained more in detail the many different cuts they had. ( T-Bone and much more ) Honestly If you have the money, I would recommend this place. Negative: the wait was a bit to long, and there weren't a lot of people. It was pretty quiet and not a lot of customers. So the wait was a bit long .. for even the server to come to our table; get our orders and then the food. The MUSIC** was so loud I had a hard time understanding my partner. It wasn't a lite background music, it was more like I was at a disco, really disturbing and annoying. Everything else: was PERFECT. The food was so good and the meat was so tender. I took the 50$ steak and it was just delicious. Only thing that kinda bothered me is that I ordered an entree and got it like a dessert .. she kept forgetting after we asked her 3 times that it was missing .. The waitress asked me if I wanted another Coke and I found that nice of her .. only thing is: I thought when she offered that they had Free refills .. But she charged me twice. Kinda weird, also it wasn't a tall glass. It was those little bottles, so kinda disappointed there also. For the evening it costed 150$ with the Tip. Was it good: heck yeah! Service was good: it was okay Price: I ain't coming back .. Yeah it's a fancy restaurant and you can get a 20$ meal instead of a 50$ steak, but I had my fair share of this place.

    Lobster bisque
    Xena W.

I had their whole lobster (market price 40$ today) with vegetables and rice, and soup of the day (lobster bisque). Everything was excellent! Food was tasty and portions enormous. My dad had their seafood linguini for 24$ and it was a HUGE bowl filled to the brim with pasta, shrimp, mussels, etc. Get a reservation as the wait can be long. The waiter was super friendly.

The service was not good. People that came in well after us got there food before us. Our waitress was definitely overwhelmed and getting clumsy as a result. She knocked a woman's purse off her chair and a glass of water over. She was forgetting things and just seemed overwhelmed. When we finally got our meals they weren't good. I ordered the filet mignon with butterfly shrimp. The shrimp was split open but still had the shell / legs on it. I don't believe the steak was actually a filet and was definitely overcooked. I had ordered potatoes too in lieu of fries and never received them. I asked the waitress about them. She apologized and said they would be right out but I never got them. They were on the bill and I had asked that they be removed. My daughter and boyfriend's meals were just ok. No real flavor. Overall it was disappointing and overpriced for un flavorful food. I would not go back or recommend.

We were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. I got the Tom Collins drink, which was great, and my husband was recommended a really great red wine (I don't recall the name). He got the 4 course dinner (fantastic deal for the money) and I ordered a half rack of ribs. My ribs were very good, but a bit fatty. His dinner was incredible. It started off with one of the best french onion soups I have ever had. It was the perfect appetizer for the cool winter. His main course was filet mignon, which was tender and perfect. Dessert was delicious - apple crumble with ice cream. Loved this place!

Main course: it wasn't to big of a plate and not to small, just a perfect size. The Creamy salade was a bit weird and didn't eat it all. It wasn't really creamy / it was a bit special. I think that's it juste homemade and not delivered in big batches. The fries were good but they didn't have salt on them, they had like a seasoning, it was good but tasted salty, didn't finish them. The CHICKEN* it was tender and really good. Chocolate moose: sooooo good. It was light and so delicious, recommend this one*! Brownie & ice: hmmm, kinda disappointed with this one. Like the brownie was good, but it had to much nuts in it, wish it tasted more "chocolaty" and sweeter. Kinda thin also but it was warm. The ice cream was just normal, nothing to special and the chocolate drizzle was a nice touch. Overall: -expensive $$$ ( 110$ / 2 ) -would go somewhere else if you don't want to eat meat ( steak, prime rib ) -not huge variety of meals ( good thing / menu didn't have 4 pages .. get "lost" sometimes if it's to big ) -nice place for a first time date, casual / romantic place

Don't Eat Here. Full stop…read more Reservations on patio for 5 for supper. Nice patio and vibe. We ordered our food. Service very, very slow. My girls ordered a coke each, it never came. Two plates finally came out but the rest of the group did not yet have their orders; they too finally arrived much much later, but staggered arrival to the table. Other problems: 1. Pepperoni pizza no sauce (ie; white pizza) My daughter's order. Came to us with sauce. Had to wait for server to come back. She said she told kitchen no sauce but they made an error. She said she could get us the proper order but we "would have to wait". We're a little hesitant to go ahead as the orders that arrived took soooo long. She had to "check" how long the wait would be for the correction. "10 minutes" she says when she finally returns from kitchen. We say ok. Keep in mind that the wrong pizza is on the table. My daughter had her hands on it to determine if sauce was underneath the cheese. This is an important point to the story, but I digress. I ask server for the two cokes my daughters ordered but never got. 2. Cedar plank salmon with bruschetta and rice. Salmon is terribly dry. Stuck to the plank and covered in a red sauce which tastes too sweet. I didn't think you could make salmon taste bad. Apparently I was wrong. I forced my husband to eat the last half of it. I could not. Rice was Uncle Ben's with a few veggies added in for colour. Didn't bother eating it. I don't know what that little cup of tomatoes was on the plate. I guess a couple of pieces of broccoli or asparagus would be far too fancy. My husband ate the salmon because his pizza had not come yet. 3. Back to the pepperoni pizza with sauce that was not ordered by us but was left at the table. My son and husband each had a piece as they thought it would just go in the garbage. Apparently we were wrong. When the server returned she asked who had the two slices of pizza, and that "we would be charged". I thought that was pretty ballsy, my husband said that's fine but he also was incredulous. Remember when the server said the pepperoni pizza would come in ten minutes? Add twenty more minutes to that estimate. It came, but it was not what my daughter ordered. It was a vegetarian pizza. We sadly told the server, no, this is not what she ordered, and that we would not be waiting for it to be fixed.....and the SERVER ASKED US IF WE WANTED TO TAKE THE WRONG PIZZA TO GO!!!!! At this point I told her that the pizza left on the table should not have been added to our bill, the pizza she brought out was wrong and we didn't want it and would not be forced into paying for it, the two cokes did not taste like coke, and the salmon was dreadful. My other daughter's penne with rose sauce was sub par. Keep in mind this place is VERY expensive considering the food quality and the service. I guess a lot of tourists show up and they are not forewarned, so business continues and nothing needs to change. After much time had passed, the server returned with our bill and 15% was taken off our total which I thought was reasonable although the pizza we never ordered was included in the total amount. My husband left an $8 tip which I think was pretty generous as this restaurant categorically ruined our evening. Don't ever go here.

Greater Montreal area reviews I forgot to write (1 of 2)…read more A long time ago, I found a fairly priced casual French restaurant in the Laurentians that did a fixed price table d'hote lunch where the portions were good enough for portion control, yet satisfying enough for one's appetite. I reviewed it and later became aware that, sadly, they had closed. I really wanted to go back there. I was looking for something similar, befitting a "yellow, orange, and red" sort of day in the Laurentians. There was no such thing to be found. I walked around Saint-Sauveur, saw their postcard-like main church, and checked out the shops and eateries. Both my phone and a local or two steered me to Saint-Sau, indicating this might be the closest thing to what I was looking for. Had I kept on rummaging through Laurentian towns, I could have probably found something closer to what I wanted, but it was definitely time for lunch. I walked into Saint-Sau, which is woodsy, fairly bright, and seems to pull in the sort of crowd who would order things like fondue and such. I picked out a place to sit and was handed a menu. I don't remember how I went through the culling process, but I ended up at the fish and chips. The prices at Saint-Sau are a little bit above the midpoint for this sort of food, but then this is a touristic area, especially in summer and fall, and the prices reflect that. I told the lady providing the service that I was hungry and asked how many pieces of fish would be included. This predominately Francophone cross between a "Dreamboat Annie" and a younger Sarah Palin told me two large pieces or three more normally sized pieces. I was okay with that, so that's what I ordered. I also ordered a soft drink. She was actually very nice and quick on her feet, attending to various tables, and I remember her having somewhat of a deep voice. The food arrived and I looked at what was on the plate. I just sat there with my arms folded and didn't dig in. I don't know if this was noticed and it registered, or they simply needed to do more cooking. Initially, I got two pieces of fish and they were not big enough for what I paid and was expecting. Within about 5 minutes, that third piece of fish arrived. At that point, I was a happy camper, dug in, and woofed down this Laurentian lunch. This town and those frequenting its shops and eateries made for some questions and analysis. With it being peak color, some people were clearly tourists - "leaf peepers." However, some people didn't have the "looking up at skyscrapers" look, meaning they were locals. I also saw some expensive cars with Quebec license plates in the area. Doing the math, these folks could be well paid French-Canadian individuals who own businesses or are in the professions in these Laurentian towns. Or, they could be the same, except that they commute to companies and organizations on the Rive Nord, or even in Laval. Like New York, Los Angeles, or anywhere else in North America, the center of Montreal and its first ring of neighborhoods now look way more international in terms of demographics than they do French-Canadian. With three small pieces of fish (most likely cod) to eat and something to wash it down, I'm glad I came to Saint-Sau. I'm going with three stars because I feel I shouldn't have been perplexed and had to wait for another piece of fish to arrive. At two pieces of fish, the platter would have been overpriced. Also, while waiting and observing the autumn colors outside, I knew that peoplewatching and armchair sociology would inevitably come into play.
