    Faux Fillet
    Mark M.

Pooh and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here, tonight. Our server was Sarah and she was amazing; like the road-runner in Bugs Bunny. We started off with a mixed plate of cheeses, dried meats, pâté and crusty bread - sorry no picture but believe me it was delicious!! Pooh had the fillet mignon and I had the faux fillet which was a 12 oz rib steak. We both had lots of grilled veggies and fries. We washed it down with a Spanish red wine. For dessert we each had a café comique. I had an Irish coffee and Pooh had the Brazilian Great restaurant and super service Oh and I should mention that you access the menus through a QR code via your smart phone

We were a group of 11 and we found service to be very attentive and kind. The decor has a great apres ski vibe. Lots of TVs, bar, high tables and nice lighting. The food was great with the exception of the Caesar salad (3 diners did not recommend) The mini burgers on appetizer menu are quite big and served as a main. We had steak frites, fish and chips, salmon tartare, mussels - all were great!

We walked in because it seemed popular. Pub style spot that was a little busy for a Sunday after in March. We tried the grilled octopus. It was so exceptional that it caught me off guard. The poké bowl was fresh and savoury. My friends really liked their burgers. I recommend them.

Bar area / plenty of seating / high tops.

There has to be something for everyone at this local pub! Great draft beer and local options. I ordered the fish and chips with a side of poutine . The veggie burger was equally flavorful. Plenty of daily specials / outdoor seating / and a casual vibe that welcomes the entire family. The menu is expansive from meat to vegan options.

Actually wanted to give 3.5/5 My review: went here to celebrate something special. I know the area well, I've worked here and went often with the boys here ( village not pub ). We were planning only to go for a drink but we were a bit hungry, thinking about getting a little appetizer. I took a pignā coloda & my gf took a "limonade gourmante" with alcohol ( you also have without any alcohol). The drinks were good nothing bad to say, I'm really not a big alcohol fan: but this was good. The appetizer... yeah disappointed Service: took about 20-25 minutes ( for only the appetizer ) we took our drinks and then decide to have a snack. Yeah it wasn't great, the waitress told us that it was like "Nachos". It was really not like nachos ... it tastes like dried / fried pasta. We had sour cream with it but they added lemon juice with it ... not great. Also has salsa but not a lot ... I really don't suggest this "appetizer/ snack". I don't go out often / to bars and etc: It was like 30$ for the both of us ... would rather go somewhere to eat and have a "real meal" than a crappy appetizer and 2 drinks. Personnel preference* Have any tips for a guy that likes discovering things: give me a tip!

We just had an incredible dinner! Kids had poutine. My son scooped up every last bit of gravy. The bison burger was cooked perfectly. The veal chop melts in your mouth. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!

    Warm mulled wine!

Good spot for lunch. Good service, good food for a pub, and wine and beer selection. Warm mulled wine really the spot.

This breakfast dish has egg, bacon, fruit, creamy potatoes sliced thinly and served in a ceramic pot, a smoothie, and a brownie.

Good for drinks but don't try the food. It's very touristic place! Horrible food! Good service! Good ambiance! Good drinks!

I have always had a great meal there. Delicious choices. Friendly service. A real gem in Cornwall.read more

What a delight it was to find this family-run place, that is eccentric and very individualistic…read morewhile still catering to what I'd call a baseline of cuisine options. One gets the sense the proprietors just decided on a limited menu of things they liked to cook, a little something for everyone, and have just stuck to that and done everything very, very well. The variety, for example, runs from regional standards like poutine (deliciously done with what appeared to be scratch-made gravy and unusually good cheese curds), PEI mussels, and smoked meat (on brioche!) to some Filipino classics (Adobo! Pansit!) to recipes straight out of Julia Child (salmon with hollandaise, eggs benedict, chicken cordon bleu) to a delicious house special of the only-found-in-Cornwall Cornwall pizza (Edward's, well-recommended) to some nouvelle (a lovely beet salad, a brilliant quinoa paella breakfast melange) to a good old fashioned club sandwich (a dying art). I was particularly taken with the soup of the day -- a tomato basil that sounds plain, but which had the most delicious combination of savory and slightly piquant spicing that was quite unexpected and very welcome. Really unusual. And I take it well that the other chef's special soup was out -- positive proof it's made in small batches fresh. Everything was very tasty, hot out of the kitchen, and fresh. All this with friendly service (well handled in the front of a house by a single server -- we think one of the owners, with a kitchen assistant bringing some things out) and unbelievably good prices (low double digits C$ on everything, which made it very affordable in US$). The decor is a little odd, and the place is a shotgun with only a front window (have they moved? the place looks nothing like previous photos posted here in Yelp), but the vibes and food more than make up for the somewhat strange ambiance. The diners were a mixed crowd as well, and it's always nice to see a place that attracts people on lunch break from their business and students and layabout tourists such as ourselves all in one delicious mix.
