A very classy old fashioned steak place. Definitely a place for a special occasion, with prices to match. The service was very good, being friendly and professional without being overly stuffy, just like the overall vibe of the place. We did not dress up (actually we came directly from hiking mont tremblant!) but they welcomed us nonetheless (we did call and check ahead of time if it was alright). I loved the pickles, they were delightfully crunchy and sour. The oysters were malpeques but well shucked and i got one that was absolutely enormous! They tasted fresh and very good. The steak comes with a salad and choice of potato. I got the famous monte carlo potato and it was extremely rich but satisfying. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was nice and fatty and meaty. Overall it was a ton of food and definitely enough for leftovers! Next time I'd like to try the lamb. Definitely an institution, and I hope they stick around for many more years.

Was a beautiful day in St Sauveur. My appetite was big and I was craving for meat. Gibbys! Janet was our server and she was a delight. I skipped the appetizers because I knew that I needed my appetite for the rack of lamb. Lol. Cooked to perfection for me, medium and pink throughout. My face lit up. I opted to pick the rice pilaff instead of the Monte Carlo potato. It's all good no matter what you choose. Gibbys name has lived up to its reputation for years. Creme brûlée and cappuccino to end a beautiful day.

Main course: it wasn't to big of a plate and not to small, just a perfect size. The Creamy salade was a bit weird and didn't eat it all. It wasn't really creamy / it was a bit special. I think that's it juste homemade and not delivered in big batches. The fries were good but they didn't have salt on them, they had like a seasoning, it was good but tasted salty, didn't finish them. The CHICKEN* it was tender and really good. Chocolate moose: sooooo good. It was light and so delicious, recommend this one*! Brownie & ice: hmmm, kinda disappointed with this one. Like the brownie was good, but it had to much nuts in it, wish it tasted more "chocolaty" and sweeter. Kinda thin also but it was warm. The ice cream was just normal, nothing to special and the chocolate drizzle was a nice touch. Overall: -expensive $$$ ( 110$ / 2 ) -would go somewhere else if you don't want to eat meat ( steak, prime rib ) -not huge variety of meals ( good thing / menu didn't have 4 pages .. get "lost" sometimes if it's to big ) -nice place for a first time date, casual / romantic place

The part that really sucked they didn't have any corn ! Which is terrible. I had to get rice which I didn't end up eating. The lady at the counter was ignoring clients and the old people in front of us through their hands in the air when she decided to take a phone call while looking at them walking to the cash. She was just not happy to be there and very slow. Our food sat there for a little bit we kept making eye contact with her so she would know but just would look back at the food and then leave it. Someone came to take over for her as maybe they noticed that she wasn't happy. I won't lie tho the food was great the sauce the crab one with butter and lemon pepper was amazing! I don't know why this restaurant gets such poor reviews on Google... Maybe they've got the wrong…read morerestaurant!! The decor is stylish with turquoise and walnut themed tables and chairs. I'm sure it's lovely during the daytime when you can see the lake in front of the restaurant. The layout is great because they have square tables for two set on an angle in front of the windows overlooking the lake so that people can sit beside each other instead of opposite to each other. The restaurant concept is steaks and seafood cooked on heated stones. The grills are from the company called Black Rock Grill, hence the restaurant name, Rok. We arrived for the time of our reservation and we're promptly seated and our waitress came over right away to ask us what we wanted something to drink and brought over the drink menu. I ordered a virgin mojito and it has all the ingredients but has more lime juice in it. Right after we ordered she brought over for mini warm ciabatta buns with butter. These are so good, it's tempting to eat a bunch. They will bring you more if you ask for it. Our appetizers came shortly after. The smoked duck Caesar salad was light and packed with flavour! The crab cake was quite rich and fairly filling. The outside was crispy and there was a generous slather of mayonnaise to accompany it. I kinda regretted ordering something so filling cause I was already getting full even before the mains came out. My favourite part of the meal was having the steak sizzling on the hot stone. The servers recommended to us to remove the steak from the stone and place it on the plate beside to avoid overcooking the steak. They equip you with a sharp steak knife so when you're ready, just cut thin slices of meat and sear it on the hot stone before eating. I chose the ostrich meat as a special treat and it was well seasoned and didn't need extra seasoning or sauce. The ostrich meat tasted a bit like a blend of beef and duck and was very tender despite me cooking them completely. The Manhattan steak had a little bit of tendons/fat which needed to be cut out and it lacked flavour. Each meat came with a red wine dipping sauce. To my delight, the roasted veggies were served in that tiny cast iron skillet! A side of creamy mashed potatoes was served piped in a hollowed-out potato. Since it was my birthday they brought two pieces of chocolate brownies with a large sparkler to my table. I ordered the tonka bean creme brulee and it was really nice. The Sortilege cut the sweetness a little bit but I found that it gave a slightly bitter taste. The pineapple cheesecake was a crustless whipped cheesecake with passion fruit sorbet and pineapple on the inside. It's a very delicate dessert, only lightly sweetened and refreshing. We tried to finish the brownies but by then we had way too much food! Overall a fantastic, satisfying experience and I would go back again anytime when I'm staying at the Esterel resort!

Although the menu was dated as was its execution and that the restaurant lacked finesse - I resisted the urge to go into the kitchen to show them how to do a tomato sauce and baked beans for a hearty and delicious breakfast - no one can claim that the quality of service is anything less than excellent, as is the rest of the hotel service. To prevent me from having to climb a slope with my cane, the hotel manager gave us a more spacious cabin and more beautiful even without altering the agreement. In addition , the 80s retro decor was unimportant when we consider the impeccable cleanliness - no dust or stain anywhere - without forgetting the windowed wall in the cottage which had a gorgeous view of the lake and lying sun while sitting by the fire hearth . It should be mentioned the canary calm and quiet at this resort, we were so relaxed we thought we were getting ill. For the value versus expense, even with the kitchen being a bit outdated, the customer is the winner. I would recommend the place without hesitation.
