My friends and I dropped by before hiking the circle route near the summit. TLDR: Patio seating 5 stars; service 5 stars; food 2 stars. We enjoyed the late summer trees and people watching around the patio. Our server was really funny, speaking French, English, and a splash of Spanish. I originally wanted the beef salad, but he recommended the salmon poke bowl ("deconstructed sushi!") for more vegetables. (He didn't seem to know that poke is Hawaiian and sushi is Japanese, but poke appears often in Asian restaurants in this area.) He was right--the salmon bowl provided lots of crispy raw vegetables, and enough carbs to power me through the hike. The poke was unlike any I've had at an authentic Hawaiian place, though. It was like tuna salad, except instead of canned tuna I got raw or salted salmon (I couldn't tell which). I didn't touch the side sauce, which looked like tartar sauce. The salmon mayonnaise provided plenty of flavor for the vegetables and rice, and I ate the whole thing. My friend's spouse finished his fried rice, another good sign. But my friend didn't like the ramen. She said the broth was flavored with soy sauce and coconut milk--neither Japanese nor Southeast Asian. Her kids didn't finish their pho or pad thai, perhaps because there was too much for them. After tasting both, my friend ended up eating the pad thai. I'm glad we tried this place. It's a novelty amid the predictable overpriced North American and European food one finds in a touristy area. If I find myself in this area again, I'll probably try someplace else first, though. read more

We found ourselves stuck between a rock (mediocre tremblant restaurant) and a hard place (another mediocre tremblant restaurant) and so we figured we'd give this place a shot. I got a poke bowl and the salmon kind of tasted like the chef's mom told him to defrost the salmon and he said he'd do it but then he lost track of time playing club penguin and so he tried to run it under hot water before she got home and accidentally cooked it halfway (not from personal experience or anything). The ramen was -- to put it mildly -- flavourless! And I have no idea what dish my sister ordered but it tasted like instant noodles smothered in soy sauce. The only points this restaurant gets is for the waitress being lovely and for the wagyu gyoza. read more

Im a little surprised by the rating for this place. Group of 7 today came for lunch. We had chicken chow mein, shrimp chow mein, beef fried rice, general tao chicken and the chicken pad Thai. Every single one of those meals was plentiful and rich in flavors. Staff was absolutely wonderful and nice and the place is cozy. In my books, one of the best lunches I've had on this hill. Very cute restaurant but the food was not. I was in complete disappointment. The food was served cold, which is not acceptable at any restaurant. The dishes lacked flavor and was all cold. The general Tao chicken dish I ordered was dry and tough, and the vegetables were bland and unseasoned. The overall experience was very disappointing, and I regretted my decision to visit this restaurant. The service was also lacking, as the servers seemed disinterested and unresponsive to our needs. We had to repeatedly request for water, and our plates were not cleared in a timely manner. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. We were really disappointed with the food. I had the chicken red curry and my partner got the general tao chicken. The flavours were okay but both dish clearly had frozen chicken in them. It's pretty obvious that the general tao chicken is not made there and the chicken in the curry had a weird fake chicken texture. The rice was fine but a bit overcooked. Butter chicken on the menu said served with naan and rice leading you to believe that it will be the Indian dish, when in fact it was nothing like it .. it was a few medium size pieces of chicken breast made in butter with green beans and carrots on the side; with naan and rice ! This is our second time coming here as the first time (December 2021) was a good experience. Came here for an early dinner on a Wednesday around 5pm. The place was empty when we arrived and soon began to fill up, and was 3/4 full when we left. The service was prompt with taking our order, bringing us food, and getting us the bill; we never felt rushed or like we were waiting for anything. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and the Tofu Fried Rice, and were very satisfied. Both had a variety of vegetables and sauces to add flavor to the dish, and were hot right out of the kitchen. We were a little nervous to try this place based on the reviews but the menu looked good so we decided to try it. It was excellent! We had a group of 5 plus a baby and every single person loved their food (including the one year old!). We haven't stopped talking about the edamame and the portion sizes were beyond plentiful. I ordered the tofu pad Thai and it was delicious and flavorful. The service was great and the ambiance was cozy. Definitely recommend! I really do not understand all of the negative reviews. I've gone to O Wok once or twice each trip for the last 6 or 7 years. Myself, wife and teenage kids all look forward to it and enjoy it. Is it "authentic"? No, it is fusion. Is it pricey? Well yes, you are at a ski resort. The burger place or Italian place or crepe place next door are expensive too. Get used to it anywhere at Mont Tremblant. I have always found the food excellent. Well flavored spicy curry dishes. Perfectly cooked jasmine rice. Dumplings are OK, nothing special, but tasty for a midday lunch between runs or with dinner. I have always found the service attentive and polite. And to the reviewer that said they added the tip, no they don't - it doesn't work that way with the Canadian credit card machines. You have to push the buttons to set the tip yourself. My family and I, along with our friends arrived here for an early dinner. They open at 4 and we were there at 3:40, to be the first ones in for first seating. The ambiance is beautiful, we ordered.. and it took 1 hour and 42 minutes for our food to come out. When we kept asking the waitress, she just repeated "it's cooking" and was very rude in her tone. we watched tables around us turn over 2x before we received our food. With hungry kids, they didn't even give us crackers or anything to help hold them over. Once we got the food, it was delicious.. however, anything will taste good after waiting almost two hours and being starving. read more

The Restaurant O Wok looked like a novel Asian cuisine place at the resort. After looking inside and deciding to give it a shot, I realized I was very wrong this place was more than novel. The atmosphere is pretty calm during the day, not to many people there and they have this large flat screen playing what looks like a loop of a history channel marathon about Asian culture. Im generally not a fan of ethnic type places doing this as I feel it detracts from the rest of the restaurant but I was here for the food not the decorations on the wall. I ordered 2 fried spring rolls to start and they were great. For lunch I ordered the General Tso's chicken over the Shrimp pad Thai on the waiter recommendation. Let me tell you that was the best recommendation I have ever gotten, the chicken was perfect, and I do mean perfect. If I could find a place close by that cook there chicken that way I would have to go the gym an extra day a week just so I could make that part of my weekly routine. Pretty good Thai food for Mont Tremblant area. I was not expecting a lot and to be honest our first time here was just okay. I have to say the staff was very friendly and nice, the restaurant itself is so cozy and beautiful. First time I ordered Red Curry with veggies and my husband ordered Green Curry with beef. Both dishes were very spicy, little bit bland but my red curry was very sweet, even too sweet. I remember thinking that it's missing some lemongrass or lime, so I asked for a lime on the side (which was a good idea!) Next time here I ordered Green Curry (as it wasn't sweet) and my husband ordered Singapore Street Noodles. This time my Green Curry was perfect: not sweet, not too spicy, very flavourful! Also the veggies and tofu were really good, I didn't even need my lime here. Also the portion was so huge, however, the prices are a bit steep, too. We ordered a couple of poke bowls, salmon teriyaki and the beef fried rice... no one had anything great to report. The only decent item was the fried dumpling which were tasty. The wine selection was very basic and the prices were excessively high for the quality to price ratio. In the 31 years that I've been alive I think that this is the worst restaurant that I've had, no exaggeration. Food: We ordered the pork dumplings, "papaya" salad, pad thai, and beef curry. Pork dumplings tasted fine but they were clearly from a $3 frozen bag. I think the chef has never seen a papaya in their life as it was 95% bean sprouts. Pad Thai had no taste whatsoever, the only reedeming quality being that they didn't skimp on the shrimp and was saved by a bottle of Sriracha. Overall the worst pad Thai I've ever had. If a Thai person ate this, I'm pretty sure they would have a stroke. The beef curry was the least worst of the bunch, but beef was overcooked. Service: Almost as terrible as the food. It's like they never had a busy night. Lines for the entire time we were there yet wasted because the staff for whatever reason failed to clear tables and get customers in and out. Food took 5x as long as it should have. Conclusion: In this touristy area, most people probably have an idea of the type of food they're going to get: overpriced, subpar, unauthentic. This place literally went above and beyond my wildest expectations for how awful the place would actually be. The only reason that we stopped here was because I was starving and everywhere else nearby was just as crowded. I don't think I've ever had a worst tasting meal but combining all aspects of this place was just laughable at how bad it was. It's seriously shocking. To any prospective patrons here: RUN. Where to start with this mess of a place. All was going well, till the food arrived. We had order five dishes, green curry, shrimp fried rice, chicken chow mein, beef pad sew, and chicken general Tao. The green curry was orange, and the rice that came with it wasn't cooked. Instead of shrimp, the fried rice came with chicken, and the rice was undercooked. The chicken chow mein was cooked, but disgusting. The général tao was the type you get from Walmart in the frozen section, and no sauce was offered. And the pad sew had no sauce, but the beef was the only passable item. The waitress was straight up rude and barely served our table. Came here with some friends as we were feeling like something outside of the regular while in Tremblant. I can recall eating here back in 2008 in my pre- Yelp years and feeling like it was sub-mediocre. This appears to continue to be the only Asian- style restaurant in the village. The menu offerings look promising however I have found like my earlier experience that it was edible but nothing that I would consider great! My direct explanation would be expensive- non authentic Asian food that runs you to $45+ per person with one beer (taxes plus tip included)! I guess this is what's expected for Tremblant. It's amazing to me that this restaurant can continue on serving food as it does. However it doesn't have much competition in the category. My dish that I selected was fried noodle- chicken nest (with vegetables) did have a good healthy selection of vegetables but had some weird purple beet garnish that is a bit odd. Anyway even if not the best I did eat it. The one positive was we did sit out on the terrace (patio) and it faces the back so. It was nice and quiet with some "trying to be hip" music playing in the background. The portion of white rice which accompanied the curry dishes was not large enough to offset the liquidity. The broth/gravy should have been thicker, with more veggies and shrimp/fish. From reading the reviews, it seems that O Wok may be a hit-and-mis locale, but we certainly came over when it was "hit" time. After landing in Tremblant, going through the formalities in obtaining passes, skis and the like, and waiting for friends to arrive at the hotel by car, we were in need of some serious nourishment. We walked through the Village a bit looking at menus before settling on O Wok as our evening dining establishment. We didn't go wrong. The place is located by the Kandahar Hotel and a stone's throw from the Marriott property on Tremblant. Entering, we noticed the quaint Eastern motif and nice decorations evoking a South East Asian model. While we can't ascertain as to their Chinese selections, their Thai food was outstanding if not a bit tailored to the more mellow North American tastes, although the Sriracha sauce was plentiful at the table if we wanted it. Service was quick, gracious and friendly. We washed the three Pad Thai dishes with a nice bottle of Pinot. Definitely a return place. read more

The beet strips (on the plate as a garnish only) smelled and looked 2 weeks old. Lastly the Chow Mein... edible. We ate it all. It looked more like re-heated ramen. "Oh, our General Tao's is PRE-PREPARED, so we can't guarantee it can be made with all white-meat chicken." That's the answer I got. Yep, yet another sub-standard place in the village that one comes to expect during the time here. I kinda knew to expect this, but what can you do? We still wanted to give this place a try despite the bad reviews (2.5 stars at the time). This is not only the same in the village, but the same kind of excuse driven, common sense lacking, even in Saint Jovite. Another $140 down the drain with a bad meal. Some other observations: daughter asked for some kind of non-alcoholic drink. Server said there was nothing. So she ordered a Diet Coke. Later to find out, the table next to us, that had a different server, had ordered a virgin Piña colada! Guess our server was virgin deficient when it comes to drinks. While I'm on the subject, we had ordered a couple of draft beers but were really interested in their cocktails. Come to find out from the same table, one of those ppl ordered a mango margarita (served in a martini glass mind you...bad bad bad) that it was horrible and she never even finished half of it! Ok, I digress on drinks because believe me, I KNOW my cocktails... Oh, before you enter the joint, beware...you must complete a covid tracking survey...like that's gonna do something. But you had to show proof that you completed the survey before entering. One survey per table. I feel so much safer now, because I'm sure if someone came down with Covid, their sophisticated tracking system would be so preventable that I would have not only known that someone had it, but where they were seated, and how many ppl came in "close contact" in order to pinpoint the affected individual. Sorry, I digress again. The music. Oh my gosh... the music!!!! Please please please don't try so hard!! I had to listen to "Max Dubster" (Shazam verified) play some dumbass reggae dub that it offended me...knowing what real reggae music is like. The nail in the coffin was another cover band playing some techno version of Simple Minds "Don't forget about me"...a song that should never NEVER be spun as techno. Guess I like my music just as much as my cocktails! And lastly, the food. Since they prepare their food in advance, I just went with the dinner portion of wonton soup...just bland. The other two ordered ramen and said the ones you can order from the supermarket (where you simply add water) were better. I'm sorry, it's not just yours truly.... It started off with both of our won ton soups having a nice hair in it.... not a small hair, a 6 incher lol Mmmmmm The won ton is decent. Probably frozen won ton, nothing hand made. What can you do. Next, I opened my pad Thai, served in a French Fry carton. Packed full of uncooked bean sprouts, it was underwhelming... borderline terrible ( especially if you've had real Thai... even Thai express haha) My wife was enjoying....I mean pinching her nose and swallowing her salmon poke bowl. Honestly... how the heck can you charge that price for the quality that we got.... frozen avocados, frozen mangos and minimal amount of the rest. She also ordered no rice , more salad.... you can guess what she received. This is a lovely place within Tremblant ski resort and has a great menu selections. We opted for green salad, red curry with tofu, and pad sew. The pad sew was very sweet, based on my standard, and I am not a big fan of the noodles. The red curry was flavorful and I love the bamboo shoots in it. The tofu was not good. It felt like being frozen before and then defrosted. One thing I love about this place is its use of beets. Very nutrioutious and innovative. It gets very busy at night and not enough staff.
