Food tasted great. Service was a bit slow. We had gone there for the jazz brunch (got there about 2:45) nobody was playing. Asked about the jazz and was told they were there and maybe they took a break? Never saw anyone playing.

We went again for a cocktail and apps. Service was better sitting at the bar. I still think it's very overpriced for what you get. Pizza was great but the artichoke hearts and zucchini chips were nothing special. Wouldn't order again.

Lovely restaurant and ambiance! We had a 45 minute wait on a Saturday night for a party of four with no reservation. We sat down and ordered a few different dishes which were all quite good. The tomato soup crock to share was pretty awesome. Would definitely recommend this place and if you try and eat low carb, then the Mediterranean grill platter with house pickles instead of fries is amazing! Definitely recommend.

La Gallina Restaurant and Bar opened this evening in the former CPK space at Market Street Lynnfield. They offer a variety of Mediterranean style dishes including appetizers, salads, soup, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, brick oven pizza, tapas, seafood, chicken, skewered meat entrees, and dessert. The atmosphere here is modern casual with an open dining room has booths, tables, high top tables and seating up at the bar with two flatscreen TVs, full drinks list including 10 draft beers. Upbeat background music was playing over the speakers and the crowd noise echos throughout the place. The food prep area including pizza oven is in the open. There is also a covered open air seating seating section and outside patio table seating in front of the restaurant too. The prices here are high moderate. I stopped by La Gallina for dinner on opening night when the doors opened at 5pm. I was given a menu and I headed to the bar with marble countertop and plenty of open seating. The bartender brought out a glass of ice water as I was deciding on what to eat. I placed my food order with the bartender. I started with Today's Ragu + Soft Mascarpone Polenta ($15 plus tax) which was served table side out of 2 pots (polenta and meat Ragu) on a long wooden tray with a grated parmesan cheese cup. However, the portion served to me wasn't that much (a lot of empty tray) and I finished it in a few bites.  The other tapas on the menu were also modest portions as I saw other customers with the meatballs and calamari. The hummus dips and spreads with pita chips looked like right size portions. The pepperoni flatbread pizza ordered by the customer next to me looked like a good size, a thick airy doughy crust topped with plenty of sauce, pepperoni, and melted browned cheese. I also noticed other customers had homemade bread and dipping oil & parmesan cheese, Bar Bread Service (add $4 plus tax) which I decided to get. The 4 chewy slices of ciabatta bread was good, dipping into olive oil and parmesan cheese. Next, the Our House Beef Burger, Blend of 3 Cuts of Beef* ($19 plus tax) 2 very soft moist smashed patties, thick soft cheese, red onion, fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato slice, dill pickles, orange tangy house sauce with Parmesan fries on the side. The burger and fries along with the bread & oil was very filling and satisfying. After I was done, I ordered dessert which has a few housemade selections including gelato and dessert drinks. I chose the Orange Pistachio Cake + Sweetened Greek Yoghurt ($10 plus tax), which was a good size slice, soft and a dry texture with whipped yogurt and pistachios and burnt orange sauce on the plate. The place was very busy and it took a while for the bartender to give me the check. The owner was also walking around checking on customers and staff. The check with tax before tip was $52.80 which also had a 3 percent Kitchen Appreciation Fee, which is a first and I think they deserve appropriate compensation from the restaurant. I've seen resort fees (restaurants in Vegas casinos), COVID surcharges, economy adjustments, ingredient upcharges, optional musician fees, and automatic large party gratuities added to meal checks. The service here was delayed due to the place being very busy on the first official night in business.

Excellent food and drinks at this location. I love the chicken Milanese! I get it every time I come. Everyone is extremely friendly and I love the beautiful way the bar is decorated! Even the ladies room is very nicely decorated and always clean.

Nothing on the menu or from the server mentioned that, which was disappointing right away. When I told the server I didn't like it and wanted something else, he literally tilted his head and said, "ummm what do I tell the bartender?" That honestly rubbed me the wrong way -- just felt unprofessional and awkward. Jenny got a tequila cosmo, which was fine, nothing special. Food-wise, everything was just average. The bao buns were overcooked and the bun fell apart, though the flavor was decent. The pineapple fried rice was probably the best thing we had, but even that was just okay. We also had dumplings -- Jenny liked them, but I thought they were just alright. Dessert was the biggest miss. The blueberry cobbler was not good at all -- maybe a 3/10 at best. One thing that really didn't sit right was when we asked to split the tasting menu and were told no. That doesn't make much sense -- if people want to share, especially for a tasting menu, it should be allowed. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way, and between the service and the food, solid ambiance , it just wasn't a great experience.

Portions were larger than expected, and each dish was very shareable, so you can easily try eight things instead of four if you plan it right. If you want a clear view of the musicians, try to sit on the right side (opposite the entrance), though the middle works too. It's a fairly small space, so most tables can see, and all tables can hear. Overall, it's a fun spot -- good food, a relaxed vibe, and the live music (when available) adds a nice touch. If you're looking for something new to try when in the Beverly / Salem area, or a good date-night venue, I'd check out Sala.

Then we are sitting there and it was later at night so the place was empty and instantly I FREEZE - My BF at the time looked at me and noticed panic, he knew exactly what I saw from my reaction - there was a mouse in the dining room, now listen, I GET IT.. All restaurants have them, I wasnt even grossed out like that, THEY ARE MY BIGGEST fear in life, like if someone said Heres a million dollars be in a room with a mouse, I would have to pass! That scared, I dont know why - just am!!! So I exhaled and sat there... it started to run closer, it then disappeared and I slowly was able to unclench and then it came back like 20 mins later, this mouse was ballsy, like there are people walking around in & out and I just couldnt anymore. We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.
