We have been to this restaurant many times and have always found the food to be really good. Our dinner yesterday was a disaster. The waiters were rude, the atmosphere is now terrible with construction scaffolding in front of the restaurant. The worst part was the food. Our first pizza was cold. They brought a replacement and it was almost inedible. It was one of the worst tasting pizzas we have ever had. Lasagne was ok but the bread and lettuce that came with dinner was hard and wilted. I decided to check out this restaurant after vising some local spots. I was seated quickly although the place was pretty crowded. I ordered a drink but mixed drinks are not the same here versus the states. It took a little while for them to take out orders and then there is the language barrier. A more English speaking person came over. They bring the juice and liquor separate and you do the mixing. I ordered the pizza because I was in the area so why not. The pizza was good. Not too much sauce and light on cheese. The staff was friendly overall also. read more

After a few hours of seeing Paris by foot and tour bus and following 2.5 hours at the Louvre, we stumbled upon this restaurant. Needless to say, we were famished and thirsty from all that sightseeing. The restaurant was pretty nice. Upon entering the foyer, we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was somewhat crowded, but we were able to get a window seat overlooking the outdoor seating. The service was good. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. We had a great waiter, who was very conversational and funny. Since it was still early afternoon, we ordered a Caesar salad and a hamburger and fries. The salad was a good portion size. I was told that the burger and fries were both good. Though the restaurant was not on the list of things to do, we were glad that we found it by chance. read more

Touristy place with average food but a great view across the river. We dropped by La Fregate in August 2023 after a walking tour over Paris. It was clear it was purely touristy place, but the view was great and we tired and hungry. The menu had some classic French items and we went for it. The food turned out to be average but good enough and we enjoyed the view of Louvre and Tuileries across the river. Overall, the restaurant is ok to have a quick bite in the center of Paris but keep the food expectations moderate. Duck Breast under Raspberry Sauce - this one was good and tasty though quite tough. Raspberry sauce was great! Pizza with Goat Cheese and Honey - good. Nice combo of goat cheese and honey complimenting each other. Entrecote - this was the worst. It was hardly chewable and our 15y-old son ended up leaving the restaurant hungry :( read more

Fantastic lunch spot. Food and service were excellent and the location is right near d'Orsay museum. I could eat lunch here everyday.

Conveniently located down the street, a few blocks, from the D'orsay Museum. Casual restaurant. Instead of the water provided in a carafe they gave us Evian instead (I dislike being charged for water others are just provided) . Wine was good (Sancerre and Bourgogne), but food left something to be desired. Salmon lasagna was soupy and kind of one note and the duck with raspberry lacked seasoning. Service was a bit uneven. Not really anything to recommend them over any other eatery in this high volume tourism district. read more

Believe the hype... this place sucks. Food is bland, service is probably the worst I've gotten in Paris. It looked busy before 7pm but really died after. Looks like people might only come here for drinks. I know you're probably hungry after louvre but skip pass this place. The pasta had nothing to it. I really had to add salt and pepper to it. The pizza tasted like nothing.. how do you mess up pizza ? The drinks tasted more like triple sec than whiskey. Overall pretty bad. Got 2 stars because I managed to eat it because well... I was hungry after Louvre. I can say head down to "Boulevard Saint Germain " just passed this place and you can get of row of good food. read more

The environment is very live immediately there is a lot of people seated everywhere - staff/service was nice & attentive. We tried the pizzas & they were both really delicious!!! We were not able to finish everything in one sitting so we took it to- go, cocktail was also good as well! One con was definitely the cleanliness especially of the restrooms, it was very dirty. Wonderful location along the Seine, across from the louvre. I went for a late night bite with my mom, I had a pasta dish and she enjoyed the duck. Both were absolutely delicious, but let's focus on the duck. A fruity raspberry sauce paired with lemon mashed potato's complimented the duck beautifully. Excellent service, beautiful location on the Seine, and delicious hearty meal! My husband and I loved the beef bourguignon! My husband's lasagna was good, but he liked my dinner more. Four stars for location alone. Across from Musée de Orsay, across the Seine from the Louvre. Lots of artists around you selling their pieces. Stopped for an afternoon snack. Ordered the 3cheese plate, with salad. And a couple drinks. Nice cheese plate- with cold butter (yum). Waiters leave you alone to enjoy the scene of the Seine- and all the pedestrians. In agreement with other reviewers- the waiters definitely seem annoyed... which, we could have cared less...since we were ordering food and drink- not just sitting. We stopped in for lunch after touring the musee d'Orsay. This place is ideally located... right across from the Louve. Great for people watching! Staff was pleasant. The waiter forgot that I asked for balsamic dressing on the side. The standard dressing was placed on my salad. Once notified, the salad was replaced very quickly. Each dish was delicious! One of the better breakfast places that offers a surprisingly fluffy, buttery and tasty croissant. View from restaurant is amazing as you can see the ferris wheel and Louvre nearby. Espresso is good as usual but OJ was simply flat in taste. However the star of the show was the Croque Madam, essentially a French toast with ham, egg and cheese. Toast was very delicious and the cheese they used enhanced the flavor. Highly recommended dish! Being in Paris you would expect tourist prices so don't be shocked to pay 10€+ for a simple croissant breakfast with a beverage. Will definitely return to this place next time. read more

Just a small local eatery when walking between The Museum Louvre and the Museum Orsay. Please try the truffle pizza....a must!! Great strong coffee that they serve with a side of hot water, just in case is too strong to the unaccustomed palate. Great option for a quick stop between exploring the museums. read more

Had late night crepes here. The "complete" was amazing, as was the Nutella and banana. A little thicker than usual pancake, but it went well with the savory crepe. The waiter was friendly and seated us quickly, both times we went (one during the day, once at night). Great place to stop for a glass or wine or a coffee after walking a long the Seine. I sat outside to people watch and had a glass of Chardonnay and a Salade niçoise followed by GREAT cappuccino with plenty of foam. This place is designed to dish tourist slop. Service was slow and inattentive, bill was outrageous, and road traffic ruined the ambiance. Pizza was pretty good but the beef bourguignon was better! It came in it's own little bowl and with bread to sop up the gravy. We got a bottle of rosé for 22€ which wasn't too bad! So glad they had outdoor seating AND heating as it was cold and rainy. Service was great. Food was good. read more

Located right on the road next to the Seine in the San Germain area. We had dinner as the sun was setting and had a table near the window. The corner of the Louve Museum, an old palace, was washed with gold and picturesque from the sunset. Why you go to Paris! The service here was excellent. There is a full bar and the ambiance felt historically Parisian. The menu had a little of everything and all was tasty. My tomato salad was an excellent beginning. It would seem that cream brûlée can not be screwed up in Paris. Did not feel touristy and locales seemed to be present. read more

Beautiful cafe/restaurant facing the Seine which is convenient to the Musee d'Orsay and and easy walk over Pont Royal from the Right Bank. We went twice. Once to have lunch outside under the heaters and enjoyed really excellent French Onion Soup and a Croque Madame. Our last night, we went back for a cheese plate and a glass of wine inside. We came here to eat before going to the Musee DOrsay. I was so disappointed. First of all it's a tourist trap. We saw no locals here. You can skip the beef stew and the veal stew. They both were bland and completely tasteless. The French onion soup was extremely watery. The salad also lacked much of any lettuce. The cappuccino tasted burnt. The only thing that was OK was the steak and fries. Worst of all the service was horrendous. Our server was Laurent. He seemed very frustrated when taking our order. When we asked for a to go box he refused and started speaking in condescending manner in French which he knew perfectly well we didn't speak. Overall we had a poor experience not only in service but taste of the food. It is rare that I say this but do not go here. read more

Cassoulet. It was beyond my expectations. I'm back in the States and cannot stop day dreaming about it. We sopped up every last drop with chunks of warm French bread. There was hardly any conversation between my husband and myself once the bowls of piping hot cassoulet were placed in front of us. The fancy Russian family seated next to us had to listen to our endless yummy noises as we devoured our meal. The waitstaff was very good and quite attentive compared to a few other restaurants we dined at while we were visiting Paris. This particular meal was my birthday dinner and it could not have been any more wonderful. I highly recommend La Frégate. We're two big, nerdy Americans and they gave us the best table in the house with the best people-watching street view of the bridge activity and the Louvre. Heavenly! read more

This is a five star cafe, meaning a traditional french cafe. You look out at the Seine and Louvre. I've eaten there in each of my trips to Paris this year. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times were quite nice. I strongly recommend the duck (margaret de carnard). read more
