After a longgggg day at Valley of Fire state park we were starving. This is a very small town, the only things open was this and the McDonald's. We were a little reluctant because we are not from the area or Nevada for the matter. But, we were presently surprised with the service and food. Everything was very authentic and the portions were huge. I was happy to support this small business. (:

The service was great, the people were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food to go as we were on a roadtrip to Utah. We ordered what we thought was going to be a shareable "snack" and didn't realize how much food we would be getting lol. Got the nachos and a quesadilla. The quesadilla came with a side of beans which I very much appreciated! Their food is definitely fresh and authentic. We would definitely stop by again!

Best Mexican food in Vegas? Drive to Overton. Worth it. Great authentic food in the middle of nowhere.Really really worth it!

My boyfriend and I can here for dinner because we stayed across the street at Northshore Inn. There weren't any other options in the area so we were skeptical about the food but, wow, everything exceeded our expectation! Our server was Santiago! He was great and so sweet! We got the steak picado, steak fajita, extra guacamole (which we learned we didn't need to order because each of our entre also came with it), shrimp and fish taco a la cart, and a free Sundae for my birthday! The steak picado was so so delicious and flavorful! The meat was tender and the portion was huge. Shrimp and fish tacos were also good but I like the shrimp better. And the steak fajita was sizzling good! Nice clean restaurant with very comida sabrosa! I would definitely come back here again when I'm in town and would highly recommend this place!!

One of the only restaurants in the town of Overton was our options were limited to say the least. We were immediately seated when we arrived around 7pm and quickly greeted with water. Our server came over after 5 minutes and we advised we were ready to order since we were hungry after a long day of hiking! My mom ordered the shrimp tostada and loved it. I ordered the beef fajitas and they were so chewy I couldn't even swallow the meet. Since the server never came back to check on the food I flagged down a different server to let her know and she advised she could only give us 10% off the bill because my mom and I had already started eating the rice and beans that came as a side with my fajitas. I'm glad my mom liked her entree but mine was horrible so choose wisely.

    Complimentary chips and salsa.

Blink or drive too fast and you'll miss this place. It's a great little restaurant. The food is delicious. I really enjoyed it. If you're in the area and are hungry then check it out. So good to have a "home cooked" meal.

We love La Fonda! When I want authentic Mexican food and great chips and salsa, this is the only place in town in my opinion.

We were greeted by the owner and immediately seated. The place was kinda a hole in the wall and the food was fantastic.

Chili Poblano Mexican Grill…read more You ever get that craving for Mexican food so strong it starts making decisions for you? Yeah... that was me. Out here in the middle of nowhere, where the road stretches forever and your options are basically "wait and hope" or "eat what's in front of you," Chili Poblano Mexican Grill showed up like a desert mirage but real, and way more satisfying. Now let's be clear you're not strolling through a big city with ten food trucks lined up and a mariachi band on standby. This is the kind of place where convenience becomes king... no, scratch that royalty. And when you're hungry enough, that crown shines real bright. Walking in, the place was clean, simple, and welcoming. No nonsense, no fuss. Service? Solid. Friendly folks who get you fed without the runaround. Exactly what you want when you've been on the road too long. And the food? It hit the mark. Straight up. No overthinking it it scratched that itch. You know the one. That "I need something hot, flavorful, and filling right now" kind of hunger. Mission accomplished. Now here's the honest breakdown: If I'm in a big city with endless options, maybe I'm calling this a strong four stars. But out here? In the middle of the Nevada wild, when this place comes through exactly when you need it? That's a five-star moment. Sometimes it's not just about the food it's about when and where you get it. And Chili Poblano Mexican Grill delivered right on time. Would I come back? Out here... absolutely.

What makes it…read moreauthentic/tasty is that the proteins/meats have flavor and the sauces/gravies tastes like its been simmering all day, bringing out the deep flavors and colors. The flavorful and sweet mole sauce has so much flavor but not one singular flavor. Rich, not oily. Even their red rice has taste. If you are heat-spice adverse, this Mole enchilada plate is a good choice. I love spice-heat and to have a light runny nose so their valley burrito with steak fit the bill. I also ordered BOTH the red and green sauce that comes with it in a separate ramikin and they were both delicious and addictive. Also, I found thinly sliced french fries among the cheesy steak pieces within the burrito. Nothing soaked in oil, it had premium thin steak pieces (no fat-gristle-hard pieces) and spicy flavors that is making my mouth water all over again while writing this. Save your appetite for this tasty Mexican stop between Vegas and Zion. Complimentary chips and salsa!

We were visiting from AZ & this food is just like our favorite Mexican restaurant that we go to weekly at home. I got the shredded beef taco & cheese enchilada, so good! My husband got the carnitas platter, a very generous portion & he said it was even better than our favorite restaurant at home. The margaritas were excellent as well, generous pours. We will definitely come back next time we're in town & we're visiting some friends that were RVing it for a few weeks here, we'll be spreading the word to them. We got here at 5:30, kind of empty so I was a little weary but anything 20 minutes the place filled right up! A large restaurant with a simple Mexican decor.

I wanted to leave without eating but I was with other people. Also, we asked for more salsa since nobody wanted to use the 'spicy' version and the mild version went fast. Did they bring more salsa? Why not give the customer a choice if you don't use traditional red sauce. My recommendation is avoid this place!
