The Ruben

Totally dug this spot. Went for nice ride on my motorcycle and stopped to grab some lunch. I had the Ruben and was awesome! Great taste and not to big that I was uncomfortably stuffed. The curly fries were perfect. Nice and crispy with a good flavor. I enjoyed the small town dinner feel and look of the place. The people were nice and very helpful. If your out on a ride or passing threw with the family I would definitely stop in to eat. They also had ice cream but that doesn't travel well on two so next time I guess.

45 minute wait for 2 burgers that were just ok. Avoid the wait and just hit McDonald instead.

We got there a tad before noon and the Husband had been eyeing the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs $17.99 which is typically part of their Breakfast menu that goes from 7 am to 12 noon. The waitress said it wouldn't be an issue, so that's what he got. He was quite satisfied with it and there wasn't anything left on his plate. The Little Gal got Chili Cheese Fries $7.99 and it was a decent size order. She ate most of it and was satisfied. I had originally planned on getting the Fish & Chips $14.99, but then I saw Potato Skins $8.99 on the menu and it's been a good while since I had some potato skins. I ordered the Fried Zucchini Sticks $8.99 and potato skins. The waitress let me know there was a side order of the skins for $3.99, which was just perfect! I was quite content with my zucchini and potatoes. Those potato skins hit the spot! The waitress was great. She was very nice and just on top of things. She seemed very personable. She explained that only the Pasta and Entrees were available after 3 pm but the House Favorites, Salads, and Specialty Burgers were available then as it wasn't very clear on the menu. (At least that's what I remember her saying...) We sat with another family and they had no issues doing separate checks. Their menu had a good variety to choose from. If you're in the area, check out Salt with a touch of Sugar. They've been around for about a year or so.

Posh hipster burger joints in the city, TAKE NOTE! I've heard "oh we don't do gluten-free buns, we…read moredo things the old-school way" far too many times from you people. You know who you are. CABLP is about as old-school as it gets, located in the middle of nowhere Nevada, & they do gluten-free buns. With no fuss. Take note. After riding all day through the Valley of Fire, we were hungry & wanted a classic burger dinner. CABPL was the correct choice. Kind staff, clean joint, reasonable prices. The burger didn't knock my socks off, but I didn't need it to. I just wanted a good burger. They provided exactly that & on a gluten-free bun to boot. Loved the thinly sliced fries, too. I don't know if I've ever had fries quite like them before, & they were super enjoyable. Well worth the stop!

If you're in the Moapa area and looking for reliable, top-quality service, I highly recommend CABL P. Five stars all the way!

Both were very good and the sandwich came with slightly spicy tots. It was the perfect amount of food and the bar seating was comfortable. The waitstaff were dressed very casual, jeans and t-shirt casual. Although the food is upscale, everything else about this place seems very casual diner like. We could even see most of the work going on in the small kitchen. Mostly shareable plates... Our table chose the deviled eggs with caviar - these were a hit! Dynamite shrimp, most at the table liked these, they were spicy and the flavor was decent, but I just felt like the sauce made the breading a bit soggy and it wasn't a favorite of mine. Pork Belly - This had a buffalo sauce on it, which I wasn't too excited about at first, but it worked better than I expected. Wish it was just a little crispier but it was tender and I enjoyed it. Oxtail risotto - this one had mixed reviews from the table, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was good. There's only a small amount of meat and it's shredded into the risotto. Overall the consistency was a little weird, very thick and almost sticky/dry, plus the dark color. They had a steak on the menu and the flavor was great, one of the pricier menu items but it was a good share. My wife ordered a burger without the bun. She said the patty was well over-cooked and so it was pretty dry. They don't offer gluten-free buns or bread - bummer. The service was generally prompt, but seemed uncoordinated at times. For example, it seemed our waitress was also handling a very large party outside on the patio, and randomly the hostess would bring us a drink refill (hostess stand was right beside our table). That's good in a way, they are all a team, but she also picked up my plate and silverware after only the first appetizer - mind you they bring everything out as it's ready, so don't expect the whole table to eat together, you are expected to share! When I asked if she could replace my silverware, she grabbed a fork and knife and handed to me, but they weren't rolled in a napkin or anything, just barehanded me some silverware... anyway, I thought that was odd. Overall, the food had some bright spots and perhaps worth a lunch if you are downtown. I probably wouldn't seek it out again, but I'm not mad about the meal we had either.

Butter for the toast is served separately in small plastic containers for those who want dry toast. The omelette also comes with some hash browns.
