Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. After waiting 45 minutes for a salad, grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly and a burger which looked and tasted like a frozen patty warmed in the microwave, they got our order wrong and proceeded to argue with us that they made no mistake. The idiot kid with the long blond hair has no idea what decent customer service is and gave us smart ass looks and whispered things under his breath at us as he walked away. 2.5 stars, really. Moapa Valley is a backwater cow town with a serious poverty of food choices. But if you absolutely must eat here, as we locals do, The Scoop is one of the better options. On the good side, the food is actually edible. The ingredients seem fresh. It's always hits the spot. On barbecue days, you can smell the luscious grill up and down the block. And icecream is a true delight especially in the excruciating summers here. Likewise, the restaurant is clean, with plenty of seating, lots of nooks to just chill in the cool air. Or you can sit outside if that is your fancy. This is probably a great place for kids. No one will rush you out the door. It has the feel of a small, Mormon mom and pop parlour in a small, Mormon town. On the bad side, yes, the service here is bizarrely slowwwww... They are generally understaffed. And the kids they do hire dawdle and chat. Like I said, that is how things roll in a cow town. If you are in some city-tempo rush, don't bother. Also, the portions can be pretty light for the price. You may end up ordering an extra side after a long hike. And the food itself, while tasty diner grub, is far from inspired. Of the two diners in town, The Scoop is the least life threatening. Hubby and I stopped here on the way through the Valley of Fire canyon. For the two of us, we got a small order of onions rings, one cold cuts sandwich and one loaded baked potato. We walked away full and content. Onion rings: ahhh, onion rings. These were crispy and hot onion rings fresh out of the fryer. Even though we ordered small serving, it was HUGE, bigger than what other places consider a large serving. That was a welcome surprise because who can say not to extra onion rings when they are THIS GOOD?!? Cold cuts sandwich: OMG it is HUGE... This isn't your regular cafe sandwich, oh no. This isn't even your homemade sandwich where you put a extra meat because you're hungry, oh no. This is a monster sandwich with so much meat and cheese and toppings that you can't bite it straight on. You have to kind of bite it from the side. Based on the recommendation of the girl running the place, we got one to share and that was enough. And we eat a lot. And we were hungry. Loaded baked potato: regular baked potato, not very soft, tasted like reheated baked potato. But it was hot and had a generous serving of sour cream, bacon and cheese on it, so, it was good, too. Did I mention there were awesome onion rings? The place also has 29 flavors of ices and ice creams, but we were too full to have dessert, so we moved on. Cute little family owned place. Stopped in on our way through town, headed back to the Las Vegas Airport. The ice cream and hot fudge is to die for. We ordered coconut, strawberry cheesecake, rocky road, and cookies and cream. All were delicious and true to their flavor. The young man behind the counter was also so friendly and helpful! This is probably the biggest bang for your buck in town, when it comes to breakfast! Everything is cooked just right a tastes delicious. One plate will easily feed two. Lunch is great here too. They are very nice and professional over the phone and in person. The food does take a bit to come out but the wait is worth it because the food is delicious. If your not looking to wait you can order ahead of time come in and pick it up or sit and eat. Very nice hometown restaurant. read more

Can you say a hidden gem? Because I can! We were rolling through Moapa and stopped by this place. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant not busy at all. The food is made fresh. My group ordered a mix of hamburgers, salads, and sandwiches. We all thought each of our meals were delicious and tasted very fresh. Great little place that serves way more than ice cream! Stopped in for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised that lunch was offered as well. Our waitress was kind and courteous, checking with the cook to see if English Muffins were available instead of just saying "no." Prices were very reasonable and portions were adequate. Food was average. I got the meatball sub. Sauce was good. The meatballs are pre-prepared and warmed, nothing great. The bun wasn't toasted so it got soggy fast. I eat at the local restaurant here in Moapa Valley frequently and the inside scoop is one of the best. They serve everything from soup to nuts and everything is prepared to perfection. They also have a wide variety of ice cream flavors too, and make what my mom referred to as "the best chocolate milkshakes on the planet!" And that's saying something. read more

This place is nostalgic for me and normally for a small town diner I would give it 5 stars But unfortunately today im only giving 1 star. Usually the place is busy and full of familiar faces. I'm not sure if it was due to the owners or an authority figure not being in the diner but service was slow, the boys in the back didn't even seem like they were attempting to get things out in a timely manor (most likely due to the giggling girl in the back). The young man running the front seemed like he was doing all the work, rang up 3 other orders after us plus 4-5 orders of ice cream that I saw while we were waiting for our food.... so kudos to him. I never saw anybody else come up front to help him. We waited 30 mins for a French dip and chicken strips. The young man did apologize for the wait and also thanked us for coming. He seemed like a great asset to the diner, I wish I would have gotten his name. Hopefully things get better on Saturdays cause I heard afterwards that its a normal thing on Saturdays for business not to be so great. read more

We found this place after fishing at Echo Bay. We asked where to find food and we were told a couple places and one of them was the Inside Scoop. After a long morning of fishing... This place really hit the spot and we even got ice cream. Even though we are from out of town.... The staff was supper nice and the food was delicious. The place was very clean and everyone seemed to know each other. Very nice everything we are definitely coming back next time we are out fishing. read more
