    Barrel aged Manhattan
    Michael W.

Ok so it's in a dusty looking plaza but don't let that keep you away. We had a really great experience here! We went on a Sunday night around 6:30 and it was really quiet in here. I think only 3 other tables and by the time we left maybe one. The good thing about that is our server never rushed us and it was like we had the place to ourselves because of where we were seated. We started off with a couple of their barrel aged cocktails. The Manhattan (makers mark base) and the old fashioned (bulleit). The old fashioneds were great but I think the Manhattan was exceptional! For apps we ordered cheesy garlic bread (where was the garlic??). The pasta sauce was ok. We also tried the Brussel sprouts and they were awesome. The mussels were a smallish portion but the broth/sauce was SO GOOD. So good that we had to order more bread just to put it to good use! For dinner I had the lasagna w their bolognese sauce and it was very flavorful and a nice sized portion. I could only finish half. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. This place surprised me! Really enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning in the future. PS - Grassroots ice cream is about 1/4 down the road. Check them out for the best local ice cream if you have any room left!

We had a 6 person Friday night reservation & were greeted warmly by the staff. Our table was roomy and comfortable and the music volume was just right! We really appreciated being able to hear each other without shouting. There were a number of specials, which our waiter did a good job describing. Three ordered the warm spinach salad, that was definitely big enough to share w up to 3 diners. I opted for the linguine w shrimp and asked then to add scallops (there was an up charge). The portions were generous and I enjoyed my leftovers the next day. The only regret was not finding any eggplant on the menu because I was craving it. I was a bit distracted and didn't take as many photos as i usually do. I recommend giving La Figata a try for yourself.

A good little Italian spot and it's very nice inside. We had a party of 6 and the waitress was very patient and kind with us. We were a chatty group and had a lot of questions we didn't feel rushed. We ordered a few items but I don't have a lot of pictures. The mussels app was delicious it tasted like a very hearty broth you wanted to have a soup. The Brussels sprouts were good. I ordered the shrimp scampi as my main dish I wasn't over the moon over but I did order something I normally wouldn't. The bolognese is what you need to get if you come here.

A friend recommended La Figata for dinner. The staff is super friendly, personable & super engaging with customers. Our waitress had such a great attitude and was helpful in deciding what to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! Chicken parm was flavorful & the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect! The scallops with risotto was a terrific balance of sweet and savory. Forgot to take pics of the dessert, but we had cannolis & the half baked (similar to lava cake). Both were incredible! The ambiance has a great modern Italian vibe! I definitely want to go back to try the meatballs with polenta appetizer.

Always love coming to this place. Have gone for both takeout and sitting in. Rather large venue which is nice/great atmosphere. Most times get the family dinner as it is tons of food, great choices, and allows variety. This time we got bolognese, carbonara, fig pizza, and salad. Really loved the bolognese- very flavorful! Pasta Flight / Margherita Pizza

This place was incredible! For starters, our server was amazing and checked up on us frequently and got our order into the kitchen incredibly fast. For starters we were recommended to try the calamari and I am so glad we listened. Usually I am not the biggest fan of calamari because more times than not it is chewy or tastes rubbery but I did not have that issue with this calamari. It was flavorful and no weird textures. The dipping sauce that it came with was also yummy. For our meal, my mom and I shared the pasta flight, which included a spicy marinara sauce, pesto cream sauce, and Alfredo. They were all delicious and I am not too sure I could even choose a favorite. For a flight, there was also a healthy serving size of pasta in each bowl. Before leaving we HAD to try their pizza and opted for the margherita. The crust was soft and the sauce and cheese were delicious and tasted very fresh. From my seat I could even watch them cooking it in their brick oven. Highly recommend adding this place to your dining list!

The Figata pizza, gorgonzola, caramelized onions, pancetta, fig jam, fresh arugula, balsamic drizzle

Tonight we tried La Figata for the first time, starting with drinks and an appetizer of deviled eggs with crab. The eggs were fresh with ample crabmeat mixed with the egg yolk and were very good, nicely presented. Wife and daughter shared the Figata pizza with gorgonzola, caramelized onions, pancetta, fig jam, fresh arugula, balsamic drizzle. Both loved it and brought about 1/3rd of it home. I had the 14 inch pepperoni. The sauce was slightly on the sweet side with a great portion of cheese. The crust in the undercarriage was a tad on the weak side, but around the edges was very good and flavorful. The pepperoni was nice and savory as you would expect. My pizza on a score of 1-10 was a 6.5. For dessert the three of us shared the chocolate lava cake with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. Sorry that the picture shows an empty played in three spoons, but it didn't last long. It was the hit of the evening.

I went with my family to La Figata for dinner. This is an Italian restaurant in Granby. It wasn't super busy when we arrived. We quickly got seated right across from the brick oven. I was starving, when I saw the New England Clam Chowder on the specials menu I knew I'd be getting that. However, the waitress and said there's a small correction on the specials menu, the chowder is actually the Rhode Island Chowder. I still got it, and forgot that there's a significant difference between the two, until it had arrived. The chowder was very runny and thin. It was far too salty. It had potatoes and bacon in it. The others in my party got the calamari, garlic bread and a pasta dish. They seemed pretty happy with it. I wanted to try the garlic bread, it was such a hit, that it was gone instantly! I also got The Figata pizza! I figured it had to be good since the restaurant was named after the pizza, or maybe the other way around?! The pizzas come in three sizes. I got the medium, because I knew I'd be sharing it. This was an ok pizza. The crust is pretty thin, but the edges were crunchy and crispy. There was plenty of fresh arugula on it. I didn't like the pancetta, there was a lot of it, making it the superior taste profile. There was also balsamic and fig jam, which is always interesting layering piece to any pizza. Overall, I can't say I'm impressed by anything at La Figata. They probably have very tasty pizzas, their signature pizza has a lot of potential, but it's not for me.

Meat lovers pizza but with no bacon add mushrooms.

Food was average, wine menu unexciting and expensive and the servers appeared to be novices.

The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere the moment we walked in. The menu is extensive with something for everyone - great selection of apps, sandwiches, entrees, and pizza. They even have a pretty decent vegetarian selection. I went with the smoked brisket sandwich with fries, and it was perfection. The brisket was moist and zesty, piled high on a fresh roll that held up beautifully. My girlfriend's mac and cheese was equally delicious - creamy, rich, and clearly made with care. Their beer and cider collection is incredible, with plenty of options to choose from. The FestBier was my favorite. I also tried the Ominous Forecast, which was also very good. The space itself is impressive - a huge bar, ample seating throughout, and even a separate room for larger parties. Parking was a breeze with plenty of spots available. What really stood out was the personal touch from the owner, Scott, who came around to introduce himself and ensure we were enjoying our meal. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in everything they do and genuinely appreciates their customers. We'll definitely be back! This is a must-visit spot for great food, drinks, and hospitality. Granby may be in the land of not-too-much, but CBH is worth the drive, and a great weekend hang out.

My favorite baseball team was even playing a game on the TV. BUT my husband and I came for the food, and we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the pulled pork special along with sweet potato fries. Honestly, I ate half of his fries-after a quick crunch, each one sort of just melted in my mouth. Yum! The report on the pulled pork was that it was the perfect combination of pork, sauce and seasonings. I tried the smash burger (my first one ever-I know, I don't get out much). Same here. My favorite part was that it fit perfectly on the generous bun and did not squish out everywhere when I took a bite, making it easy easy to eat and enjoy the meld of of meat, cheese, thousand island dressing and toppings. Our lovely waitress Vichy was attentive to our every need and thoroughly answered all of questions about the food and drinks. I am not a beer drinker, but my husband is. He is very finicky, but his lager passed the test. We are lucky to have a real pub serving delicious offerings so close by.

It was founded by business partners Chip Glanovsky and head brewer Jim Wilfinger. Friends since high school, the two partners began brewing their own beer using fresh fruit and natural ingredients. Eventually, they had a dream of opening their own brewery. In 2018, they registered their brand as "Blind Faith Brewing Company, LLC". On paper, they are still known under that name. However, sometime before their brick and mortar brewery opened in 2022, they discovered that Vermont-based Magic Hat Brewing Company had already copyrighted the name "Blind Faith" for an English IPA of theirs. Needing a new name quick, Chip and Jim settled on "Almost Famous" in reference to the 2000 film directed by Cameron Crowe. The name is also meant to honor all people who almost got famous but didn't in the end. I recently visited Almost Famous for the first time. I immediately loved the space. It's very spacious with a large taproom, plenty of seating, a private event room, a billiards room, and a classic arcade room. I also loved the Rock 'n' Roll theme that was going on. The bar was built to resemble Marshall amplifiers, truss towers, and the tap handles were all different guitars. I started off with a sampler flight that featured "Anything's Impossible" (American Pilsner), "Tangent" (Tangerine Fruited Sour), "Stranger Than Fiction" (Cream Stout), "Everybody Wants Some!" (Pineapple Vanilla Bean Milkshake IPA) and "Bitch 'B' trippin" (Double New England IPA). The latter two were my favorites. Afterwards, I enjoyed a full pour of "Bubblegumption" (Bubblegum Milkshake IPA). Overall, I had a great experience at Almost Famous. I would love to return with my family in the future; my sons will love the arcade!
