I LOVE la Figata! It's a beautiful restaurant with great Italian food! The veal is out of this world, you'll know what I mean when you see it because it is HUGE. I always bring friends from out of town here because it defines tasty, Italian cuisine. They also have fantastic deals- on Sundays and Wednesday's for $50 you can get a big salad, pizza, two dinner entrees and dessert tray that feeds 4.... with there still being leftovers! They also do half priced bottles of wine on Mondays. If you haven't been here you need to try it! read more

While reading some reviews had to check top of the page to see if I was on the correct page. After 4-5 visits recently will continue to visit. Food is great, prices are great and staff are friendly and helpful. Inquired if saltimbocca was ever on the menu. Waitress inquired if the chef had the necessary ingredients and "voila," meal was there. Menu is changed or rotated so if you do not see a favorite dish, ask. Understand noise level can reach uncomfortable levels during "happy hour!" Hopefully, an answer will be found. read more

This is the second trip to the local restaurant. I have to say that it is wonderful that the Zen Restaurant Group have expanded their successful brand into another restaurant. They have another winner here. Our party had the veal marsala and La Figata pizza entrees. The veal was absolutely perfect, cooked on the bone, and juicy with ultra rich potatoes. The pizza was sweet and savory. I wish there the Gorgonzola was more evenly distributed, but I have no complaints about the well-balance pie. The only complaint was the blistered olives and roasted garlic. I was hoping for a nice mix of brick over roasted garlic and garlic in the chili oil as it is described. What arrived was a huge serving of beautifully cooked olives in a tasty sauce with two crostini. I am not sure that they were blisted, but they were certainly tasty. Two crostini for such a large potion of olives is almost a decoration. What I really missed was the garlic. I couldn't find it or taste it. When something has garlic in the title I expect beautiful brown and soft cloves of gorgeous garlic. This dish had none of that, which is why I call this one a miss. Definitely head back when I am not at one of the Zen Group's other fine restaurants. read more

Really poor experience with takeout from La Figata tonight. Ordered online, food was supposed to be ready in 40 minutes. We arrived on time, waited another 30 minutes for the food to be ready. When they finally brought it out, it was not even hot, so I'm not sure what the problem was. The woman who brought it out was not apologetic or anything. read more

What a great restaurant in the heart of Granby! The food was amazing (I had the beef with wild mushrooms.) The atmosphere is relaxing, though I expect when the place is packed it will be very energized. I am looking forward to coming back for another meal. read more

For a new restaurant, our dinner last night went very well. The owner, as always, is a big part of its success- he knows what is needed for a place to be very good. Place was full, even though only open one week, food was well prepared, portions generous, noise level ok, prices moderatestaff friendly. I expect this to be a local favorite ongoing. Now its January 2019. The food preparation is extremely good. Excellent roasted clam and out of this world veal chop Marsala! There were some amazing parts of this place and some parts that would make me definitely not want to come back. You just have to know what to have. The bread was good, but the olive oil was not good. The beef cous cous soup was good. I liked it a lot, but my soup had 2 pieces of beef. That was a big frustration. The eggplant lasagna had a good taste to my buds, but the veal milanese was the complete opposite. It was dry and had no flavor. That is something I want to forget I tried. The pizza was good. I liked it, but the meat lovers didn't come with bacon, and they didn't even have bacon as an add on. I would be more then happy to pay 2 dollars extra to add bacon, my personal favorite pizza topping. The service was good, but the food was well over priced. If you decide to come here, be very wise on what you order. read more

This restaurant is an undiscovered treasure. We have been here several times and had great food but this past Wednesday was an even better night. We hadn't known it but Wednesday is their dinner special night. We and the couple with us got a complete dinners for $50 total. Having read other reviews, we had high expectations for this new Granby restaurant. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with both the food and the service. The calamari was bland and chewy. Two of us ordered pizzas which were good, but not great for the price. The pasta carbonara one of us ordered was good, but the portion was very small. Veal parmesan was just ok. We were not offered any bread. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but not interested in hearing any criticism of our experience. She asked how we liked the drinks, but did not inquire about any of the food. There's a lot of choices for good restaurants out there so we probably won't be back. read more

Fiancée and I went here tonight for the first time, though it was the second time we went to this plaza for food. We sat at the bar, which had well made dividers. I was also impressed that even the space between you and the bartender was completely covered, they had to lift a flap to speak to you. Prompt service, beautiful wildfire grill. Would have ordered a pie if I hadn't had one last week. I had the Parmesan pasta, my fiancée the carbonara. His I enjoyed a little more than mine, but mine wasn't bad. I applaud anyone who can make a good home made cheese sauce because I simply can't. I also found the fresh peas refreshing in winter time. The only thing I knock it for is this is the only Italian restaurant I have EVER been to without bread/oil or a soup or salad. When I ordered my pasta I expected the server to say "soup or salad?" But that didn't happen here. However, their meals were good and fresh, and my pasta was definitely two servings. Would recommend if you're in the area. Very nice looking and interesting menu but the main courses we chose were disappointing. Chicken Milanese was well over done and the salad on it didn't complement it at all. The shrimp pasta failed in that the pasta was thick and unappetizing and over done with ricotta cheese. Won't be going back. Shame. read more

First, I know this is a new restaurant so I really didn't have high expectations. However, our experience last night was completely unacceptable. We waited 35 minutes for a cheese board, then our appetizers came out at different times, when my ravioli came out it was very apparent that it had been sitting under a heat lamp so I'm not sure why we waited an hour for our entrees. Our drinks were not tended to and our water glasses were empty for at least 15 minutes. No one even asked how our meal was until I confronted a manager who offered to comp our meal-we declined and paid half. The food was okay. The atmosphere is tacky. The service is AWFUL. I was there for lunch the service was great. The sandwiches were large. The French fries were to die for and reason alone to come back. First visit with pros and cons. Atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. Once inside, it's a surprising treat. Lunch hour was quiet. Menu is diverse and offers many price friendly options. Wine by the glass is extensive and reasonably priced. Pizza choices are interesting. The highlight of my meal was as AWESOME pie with figs, gorgonzola, arugula, and pancetta......fantastic flavor. Broccoli rabe side was very good. Staff was friendly. Salmon lunch entree was substantial and cooked perfectly. The server also accommodated "reasonable" substitutions. All above was good, but now the glitches. The broccoli appetizer was followed by two pizzas that included a fig pie and a basic meatball and roasted pepper pie that was VERY scant on toppings in a major way. The gap between courses was an unnecessary thirty minutes. No one else was waiting to be served at the time. Focaccia bread was served "cold" and that was a turnoff. The other entree was chicken saltimbocca which was very overcooked. I asked how it was prepared and was told "pan fried". I believe it may have been deep fried and not pan fried. It was a dish I would have returned. Waiting for a re-do was not table friendly and the meal was already over one and a half hours long for lunch. I will not return to that chicken entree. There were some other small issues that are personal preferences and not necessary for this review. I would prefer to see the staff presenting themselves with more sophistication to blend with the chic atmosphere. They are pleasant and attentive, but a bit too casual compared to the venue. All in all, definitely a go to destination. I'd be hesitant to try a busy weekend night as I question the serving time of meals. I'll stick with lunch. I will be returning soon. Many menu options to explore "and" it avoids the Hartford traffic. Granby has a very good new restaurant in town that rivals the Max locations and Carbone venues. Do not miss. read more

Food was amazing! If you want wine brush up on your Italian selection. Portion sizes are enough for two people to share especially with an appetizer. Chicken Saltbooca was delicious! We sat in the area of the bar at the high tops. The down fall is if it's busy you're waiting on a bartender to serve you and the restaurant clientele. For a Friday night at normal dinner hours in January everything was very smooth for service. Definitely worth coming back. read more

We have been here a few times now and have had a great experience each time. The friendly, smiling faces, the check-ins from management, and of course the food. Tonight my wife and I sat at the bar for dinner and I asked for something off of the menu. It was no problem, came out quickly and tasted great. My wife got the gnocchi and I have honestly never seen her finish a dish so quickly! Erin at the bar was very friendly and you should ask for her when you come in. Tried this new restaurant last night and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was energetic and the decor trendy. You would never know it used to be a fast food restaurant. Our meals were huge and delicious. Everything came promptly - drinks, complimentary bread (yum!), apps and meals. Three Stars because we enjoyed the food. However we were looked at oddly when we said we had a reservation not sure if we were being judged or maybe we were just having mixed thoughts? We were then placed in the reservation area for two in a tiny corner When it was a parent many for seating tables were available. Our water came out within five minutes with zero verbal interaction literally. 10 minutes later our waitress came out and asked if we wanted drinks. We decided to pass because we were hungry and we wanted to put our food order in, but we didn't get a chance to because she then said she would be right back. We did have high hopes because of such good reviews, and were able to make a reservation but maybe we could've been more open minded? There was no bread offered although we had plates and typically at Italian restaurants there is some kind of bread with olive oil and their own concoction if you will. Unfortunately we will not be back and will drive for a better experience with the same amount of cost, darnit. read more
