The food is always good and bad the service is superb. There cabbage salsa is the best I've ever eaten. The Muy Special steak is a Choice Rib Eye with Prawns and Mushrooms. Excellent choice as is the Chicken Mole. read more

quick service! entire lunch only took 45 minutes from entering to leaving. good food, big portions. i recommend the #24-cheese enchilada & bean tostada read more

A little background, I am from San Diego. This was hands down the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to( and I have been to many over the last 40 years) from the start with chips, cabbage salsa, and a Cadillac margarita to the bean dip and Chile Relleno you can't go wrong! Highly recommended! Keep up the good work La Fiesta, love it! read more

The beef tacos I had tasted worse than Taco Bell and the margaritas were nasty...tasted like crap tequila mixed with gasoline...had to let the ice melt to dilute the bad taste........I wont be back!!! Go to the mexican restaurant on 945 N. Mc Gill hwy....named Margaritas........ much better..........I had a great meal and good margarita there. read more

Passing through Ely and came across this gem of a restaurant. Seated promptly and received chips with salsa and cabbage dip. Salsa was very good and chips were fresh. I ordered the Carnitas de Pollo.......yum. Very pleased with my choice, lots of chicken, peppers and onions with an amazing seasoning. Also came with beans, rice, tortillas and guacamole. Our server was delightful and made great recommendations, drinks were topped off without asking. If ever this way again, will definitely stop here. Delicious! read more

OK you suburbanites; think about where you are... I had a spectacular meal for a very reasonable price. The rib eye steak with mushrooms, refried beans, and rice was UNBELIEVABLE! The steak was, of course, the star. It was huge ( I am guessing 12 ounce), grilled medium rare to perfection, spiced and smoked perfectly, tender, and as lean as a connoisseur could ask. While trying to maintain my youthful physique, I ate half, and boxed the other half for wrapps for my bride and I the following day. All for less than $25. OK, the ambiance wasn't, the service requires some training, but those demerits do not negate the great value. Next time we are in Ely (perfect one-day drive from Phoenix, weather permitting) we will be there! read more

Fair at best. Dirty floors, slow service, no mention of daily specials, and food was so-so. Pricing was good but the decor was in need of a makeover. Not a very comfortable place to dine, no ambience. Probably won't return. read more

If your idea of good Mexican food is Taco Bell or Rosarita frozen dinners, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

Best Mexican food ever. We have been to many fine Mexican restaurants and have three top ones in Yuma where we live. NONE are as good as La Fiesta. They are over the top in quality, taste, freshness and service. Will go back EVERY time we are in Ely. read more

The food was good, service was good and fast. They had this cabbage stuff and it was really good

Excellent food!!! Was in town two days from Vegas dined here both days with a party of four. Highly recommended

They serve a good cabbage dip for the chips plus salsa. It is basic tex-mex food. It is a little dark on the inside, with tons of pictures of people wearing sombreros, and lacking ambiance. read more

Stopped here overnight on a long road trip. Since La Fiesta was next door and we were exhausted we decided to give it a try. Very friendly staff. Fastest service we've had on the whole trip. Great margaritas and the food was excellent. They greet you with chips and salsa and a brined cabbage slaw that was to die for. Give it a try read more

We have eaten at La Fiesta several times as we pass through Ely, in fact, we make a point to eat there. Coming from So. Calif. we have a pretty good ability to evaluate Mexican food, and theirs is excellent! The cabbage dish served with the chips and salsa is wonderful. The mole is the best I have tasted anywhere, and I try it everywhere. It is the benchmark for good mole. There were 5 of us, and we all agree La Fiesta has the best Mexican food anywhere. read more

This is and has been by far my most favorite restaurant in town! Always great food and service. I suggest the Burrito Colorado.

I'm local and this is my favorite restaurant by far. We usually cone in Sundays with a large group. We always have full drinks, plenty of chips and salsa, and our food usually comes quickly. Sometimes their service is slow when they are busy. But the food has never been bad. read more

The food was great and the service was excellent. I recently found out I am allergic to garlic. They made sure I found something delicious to eat. They were amazingly accommodating. My new favorite restuarant! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch while passing through town and were treated like royalty! excellent food - we are from CA so we know good Mexican food. the salsa was excellent too. read more

There was a time La Fiesta was very good, back when they were still out on McGill Hwy. But since moving into town, it just has seemed like it went downhill. The food is often greasy, and the rice and beans were so bad last time I ate there I couldn't even eat them. My enchilata was soggy and mushy, and last time I had a taco there it immedietly fell apart in a heap of grease and soggy corn tortilla. I don't often eat Mexican food in Ely anymore as the other place is only marginally better, but if you do want Mexican, you're better off going there than here. read more

La Fiesta is pretty much amazing! Bartender Dave gave incredible service to my aunt, mom, friend, and me under tragic circumstances. The four of us ladies came in for margaritas, guacamole, and chips after a very difficult afternoon and Dave was sensitive, kind, and made deliciously strong margaritas. We'd recommend the eats and drinks to anyone passing through, especially if you're looking for a smiling face and a shoulder to cry on. read more

Good restaruant for a town in rural Nevada. Food was decent. Salsa was really good. Tortilla chips were warm. Our children loved the food. My husband I thought it was good not great. There are not a lot of choices in Ely, NV so if we pass through Ely again we would stop here. read more

Great food! So good....we went back again before we left! We had the carne asada burrito and green chili chicken enchilada. The chips are freshly made there and were warm! Yumm. The spicy cabbage dip was surprisingly delicious and was a free appetizer. The margaritas are large and pack a punch! (I had it on the rocks). read more

The food is good, but the service is terrible! I attended a family dinner here and expected because we were a bigger party it may take a little longer. A LITTLE. It took over an hour just to get our appetizers and we watched as THREE tables who came after us were served and eating LONG before we got anything. It was a busy night and our server ( I believe her name was Robin- she was a heavier set mexican lady) was EXTREMELY rude. Not only to us, but I heard her yelling and making negative remarks about other tables as well. Perhaps it is time for some re-staffing. I will definitely be refusing her section if a future visit occurs. read more

Food was great drink was so so wife had a strawberry daiquiri it tasted gross but everything else was good

Great Mexican food for a good price. Love it when I hear from "experienced" people that say it's not authentic, what else do you expect in the small town of Ely? You can't go wrong here. Some friends had some tacos, burritos, salad and it was all good with no issues with service. read more

Loved my taco plate and the complimentary chips, salsa, and spicy cabbage were delicious.

Given that this Mexican place is in the middle of Nevada, I thought it was excellent. I love Mexican food and have eaten it all over and would even call it good Mexican food no matter where it is located. I had the carne asada burrito and it was a little dry although very flavorful. I just asked for them to add some cheese which they did at no charge and with the refried beans (that come with the burrito) it was excellent. They also gave me extra beans and a drink to go with my leftovers (the portions were very large) at no charge so they get extra points in my book for that! read more

We got excellent service here, and the food was very good. The salsa and chips served with fresh cabbage were the perfect starter. We, too, are from California and have eaten a lot of Mexican food, but we've never been served fresh cabbage as a starter - it delighted me. My husband ordered two hamburger tacos, a cheese enchilada and a side of refried beans and declared it the best Mexican food he's eaten in a long time. I ordered the shredded beef enchilada ranchera style topped with a fried egg - yum yum! The Cadillac margarita was a delicious recommendation by our server. The only drawback was the decor: the artificial flowers hanging in white wicker baskets looked tacky. Why not real Christmas cactus or something else living? If we return to Ely again, we'll come here for dinner again. read more

Not a good choice for someone passing through. OK if you have time to kill or don't mind a wait. The place was only half full, but it took quite awhile to be seated, to order, and for the food to be served. We were on a road trip and hoped to spend no more than 45 minutes having lunch, but boy was this place slow. Service isn't great; our waitress was slow and unfriendly. (She seemed to almost make a point out of being slow. We headed to the register to pay after frustrating waiting even more for the check and we were asked to sit down and wait. I never revived the salsa I requested). The fajitas were OK. The chicken was nicely spiced, though a bit greasy, and the veggies were burnt. The beans looked disgusting. read more

Good Mexican food. We stopped for lunch, had Chile Colorado and Chile Verde. Plenty of variety on the menu. Friendly service. Clean restrooms. Inquired about the several Pulpo (octopus) entrees on the menu, but our waiter hadn't tried them. Overall a good eat in a town with few options. read more

Awesome chicken fajitas at this place, homemade chips & salsa and very friendly staff.

Authentic Mexican food, nice atmosphere, good service. I had Chili Relleno made with fresh , not canned chili, loaded with fabulous white cheese, and beef enchilada plate. My husband had 2 pork burritos plate, loaded with tender chunks of pork. Very very delicious! more than we could eat and needed 2 boxes to take with. Highly recommend. read more

It's Ely,Nevada so I wasn't expecting much...I got pretty much what I expected. The staff was young and inept. Our server didn't know either the food or drink menu. When we asked what the drinks had in them she didn't know but I later saw her making them with a recipe book. I understand not knowing the drink menu completely but she could have at least told us she would find out and let us know. The food was decent, the drinks weak, but the service was sub par. There has to be better in Ely. read more

The would be great Mexican food anywhere, but it is a treasure for travelers to Ely. Great service, good prices, and free killer cabbage salsa. read more

Almost perfect. REAL Mexican food. If only they used fresh tortillas for their chips and tacos, they'd have gotten a five.

Very warm, helpful and friendly staff. Nice fresh avocado salad and good medium spicy salsa with cabbage slaw for chips. Whole beans were tasty. read more

Reasonable Mexican food but the Margaritas were to die for. Large and apparently home-made mix. Delicious!

Superb! Traveling from Billings, MT to Reno, NV with a stop at Lehman Caves. After a day driving from Ely to Lehman Caves, going on the tour and driving back, I was tired but decided to stop here for an early dinner and I am so glad I did. Seated immediately, the waitress asked if I wanted a drink and followed up by asking all the correct Margarita related questions, rocks or frozen, salt or no salt. You'd be surprised how often I have to make a point of saying, not frozen which seems to be the default at a lot of restaurants. Then it arrived just as I like it and it was HUGE and delicious. Chips and salsa arrived as well. I dipped into a funny looking dish that looked a little like Cole slaw and, WOWZA, my taste buds stood up and cheered. Best salsa I've ever had. Had to ask what it was (Cabbage Salsa) but had to know if it was something only they did or if I could find a recipe for it.. This is going in my party recipes folder for sure. I ordered a Chimichanga with pork for dinner and it was excellent, too. The pork was chopped into small enough pieces so I didn't need to use my knife to eat it and there was decent amount of sour cream and Guacamole on it, a good big tablespoon of each. I really like Mexican food and have lived in both CA and TX so I do know good Mexican and this is really good Mexican! I wish we had a place like this in Billings. read more
