Very clean, fast service, chips and salsa are great here, portions are big enough to say you definitely got your money's worth. To add an extra touch they do a great job with food presentation here, everything looks great coming out of the kitchen!

Chile relleno was pretty good and the rest of our party enjoyed what they had. Service was decently quick and polite.

Many severs came over immediately after we came in then a long wait before they took the order. No refills, slow service, no bill

They were dry and flavorless. It was hunks of slow cooked pork they put on a flatop to brown. The garnish for the dish was quite terrible. The tomatoes tasted like them were canned. I also had the Pelancho's dip. Other than the vessel used to serve it, Ihqve nothing to say but "yum" This was DELICIOUS. Churro cake for dessert was sad. Flavor was good, texture was not. It was reheated and got both hard to cut & chewy. Flavor was decent. I do wish all restaurants who serve ice cream with dessert would package the ice cream in a styrofoam cup. Shawna was fantastic. She helped me when I arrived, made menu suggestions, made sure all my items were correct, and placed extra napkins & utensils in my bag. She was extremely friendly. Clear she enjoys her work. Unfortunately, due to the quality of my main course, I won't have a meal from Pelancho's again. I will grab a snack of the Pelancho's Dip regularly

So I went there with my family of 5 because they wanted to go, my gpa's treat, but I wasn't hungry. Basically I was there to just drink some water and order something to go for later. My gpa is hard of hearing. Me, I am deaf in one ear. I'm very much a please and thank you, look you in your eyes for confirmation, non-confrontational type of person. So there's absolutely nothing I would've done to deserve this kind of experience here, ever. Please note that the waitress took our orders standing on my deaf side. Well, in the middle of my order she interrupted me, apparently asking if it was all on one check, but I didn't hear. There was an awkward silence and my family was staring blankly at each other. I assumed she was done with my order and was waiting for my husband next, but he had a mouthful of chips. So I look at him and then I look back at her, and she's still looking at me as if frustrated. Her whole demeanor from the get go was bleeding frustration/impatience. Then she passive aggressively asked if it was all on one check. Again, no one else answered. I was already confused by this whole interaction, but for some reason she was very persistent on ME specifically answering the question. So I shrugged my shoulders and politely said it wasn't my decision while looking at my gpa to see if he heard her, since he planned to treat everyone, but he looked confused. My husband answered instead saying it was all on one check. My gpa did pay, I later found out that he understood the whole exchange just as little as I did. He was just stunned about her manners. So everyone else's food comes, and for whatever reason the waitress thought it was appropriate to pass everyone's plates to only me, mere inches from my face. She just held their plates to my face until I grabbed them and passed them out one by one. She even made contact with my cheek with a basket of chips. I'll add that there was ample space to walk around our table. After she left, I couldn't help but lightheartedly ask my family "is it just me? Which one of you set her off?" When my family was finished with their food, mine gets brought out by some other guy, and it's not in a to go box like I asked. The waitress is nowhere to be found, and the guy hurries off laughing with coworkers before I could catch him. I'm like, no big deal, I'll ask for a box when we leave. We sat there for quite awhile waiting for someone, anyone, to come back. ANOTHER guy comes back to check on things, and that's when I mentioned that mine was supposed to be to go. He immediately got defensive and said he wasn't told that, and I said it's okay, I'd just like a box please (looking for a reason to make me argue maybe?) The waitress comes back, aggressively rips the check out of the book, hands it to me and says "HERE". Then walks away. She picked the right one, cause had it have been anyone else, they probably would've been ready to fight over the audacity. I felt assaulted, like ganged up on or something. It made no sense. My family has regularly eaten here for 20 years, but this one experience was so out of pocket and shocking enough for all of us to decide to never eat there again. The waitress is, I believe one of the only women there, so beware of the women I guess, especially if she looks at you like she smells something bad all the time.

We came back ... of course we did!!…read more Our Red Bird Mission Team was back in Kentucky in early July and we kept talking about Mexican night. We had a couple of new comers in our group who noticed the pure joy in our voices as we talked about El Mariachi's food especially the Chicken Soup! Once again an absolute five star experience beginning with top notch service (I know a few of our group are picky when they eat out and quick to complain but they loved the service here!)! The dining area is attractive and fun plus spotlessly clean! Chips and a really good salsa were delivered immediately! I asked for some salsa verde and that was even better. Our group ordered a wide variety of menu items ... one guy ordered the incredibly large sampler platter. I went for the tamale, burrito and chicken soup! Ahhh all you need is the chicken soup (I actually went home to NJ determined to do my best to hack the soup it's sooo good and we live 10 hours away from El Mariachi's so it's hard to just stop by )! Once again it was a soup prepared by the angels!! We were all in agreement... incredibly delicious food, large portions and amazing prices. oh I almost forgot the needed margaritas!! We had had a hard day at work and we're thrilled with the huge drinks perfectly mixed and very inexpensive!! I am hoping we are going back to this mission next year ... if not I just might have to drive 10 hours for dinner at El Mariachi ... it's that good ... toss out the negative reviews ... these folks know what they are doing!!

Mixed review. Skip…read morethe guac and sour cream. Do order anything with the shredded chicken. Service is wonderful. Very attentive. Atmosphere. There is a very persistent cleaner smell. If you are sensitive to cleaner smells, it will interfere with your eating experience. So the great. Enchilada sauce is subtle and perfect. Best I've had in a while. Best chips in the area. Solid salsa- lil' kick and smooth. The shredded chicken is juicy, well seasoned and has been shredded with care. Haven't had a bad bite yet. The guacamole is some kind of slush that has the consistency of mushed peas. So watered down with something else, it ceases to taste anything like avocados. Same problem with the sour cream. It's either the quality or it's been cut with something to make it thinner. There is no tang that sour cream should have. All other sides so far, tomatoes, lettuce, beans and rice have been of the best quality. Best Mexican I have had in KY and TN so far. (40 mile area, tried 5 other establishments.)
