I ordered a chicken taco salad, and it came out very soupy. When it was remade, the chicken was slimy, and I could barely eat it. The waitress seemed annoyed when it was sent back, which made the experience uncomfortable. My boyfriend's chicken fajita quesadilla looked good and tasted fine at first, and our son's nuggets and fries were okay. Service was fast but not friendly, and the pricing felt high for what we received ($43.96 plus tip for simple meals). Most concerning, both my boyfriend and I ended up with food poisoning afterward, while our son did not. We won't be returning. read more

We went to the Abraham Lincoln museum and came here to eat lunch. My friend and I both ordered the lunch Tostaguac. The menu said it was Beans, ground beef, cheese and guacamole on a tortilla. My husband and her husband ordered a lunch Tostada. The menu said it was Beans, Ground Beef, cheese and sour cream on a crispy tostada. They didn't want guacamole. My husband ordered his with no sour cream. Well, we all ended up receiving exactly the same thing. They all had sour cream and they all had guacamole. None had ground beef. I would probably have given only 3 stars but the food was delicious! The chips and salsa were delicious too. The salsa had just the right amount of heat. The service was quick so that was also good. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Our server was great. When we paid, he took $6 off our bill which was almost the equivalent of one of our meals. An earlier review mentioned roasted jalapeños but we asked and they don't have them. read more

This place used to be decent however they have gone downhill fast. Service has become poor. Food is overpriced. $4 for a tiny saucer cheese sauce is absolutely insane! The workers are sketchy and cleanliness is questionable. BEWARE read more

We are here just traveling through. Was a good meal. I had a small plate with a taco, enchilada and a cooked pepper. The pepper was very good as was the enchilada. The taco shell was a bit stale or mine would have been 5 stars. I ordered a side of roasted jalapeños which I highly recommend. We ate them all. My husband got an enchilada supreme with one beef one chicken and one bean enchilada. He would have given his 5 stars if it had a little more sauce. Fried ice cream was the perfect size. There are at least three different Mexican restaurants in Middlesboro so I was excited to finally try this one out in the plaza next to the furniture store. They have your typical selection of food. I got fajitas, which came with chicken, beef, and shrimp in a massive portion. Plenty to take home for lunch the next day. The servers were friendly and prompt with refilling drinks and the basket of homemade chips and salsa. Give this place a try! read more

We just moved here in February and we Came here today for the first time ! To be honest I was not impressed! We Did not feel welcome at all ! No greeting when we first walked in , no smiles - the guy just seated us ! The Waiter walked up to us , no smiles again nothing special- same with the food - just plain - nothing special ! The food was very good! The staff were friendly. The store could use some improvements but is serviceable. The bathroom has high placement for soap and paper towels. That might dissuade anyone if less than average height. Overall, a good place to eat but the building is dated. read more

This place is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the tri-state area. There's no cilantro in the salsa which is great for those of us who don't care for cilantro. The management and staff always make you feel welcomed and the food is always fresh and tasty. They have recently remodeled the seating/tables and it looks great. They were behind as far as atmosphere until they upgraded but the people and food is what has kept me coming back. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Where to even begin? La Esperanza is an absolutely amazing Mexican restaurant for the whole family to enjoy. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcome you with a smile. The service is absolutely top notch with elite food coming out almost instantly. The menu selection has something for everyone. If going to La Esperanza, I would recommend two dishes. My personal favorite - the Chicken Fajita Nachos - just brings everything to the table. The chips aren't stale and are absolutely perfect. The cheese is the perfect warmth with perfect taste and the vegetables are grilled to perfection. My second choice is one Pollo Loco. A perfect dish featuring refried beans, rice and chicken with cheese and tortillas. The tortillas are freshly served and warm with the food being cooked to perfection. All in all, La Esperanza is a fantastic place to eat and I'm proud to call myself a loyal customer. read more

I've only had a chance to eat at this one mexican restaurant in town, there are three so Middlesboro must have some real mexican cuisine fans; anyway, the food came out rapid and hot. Fresh ingredients cooked perfectly like my wife's vegetarian quesadilla with squash, broccoli and mushrooms. The staff was professional and friendly and you could tell they wanted to make sure our experience was a good one. read more

We stayed at the Days Inn, on Cumberland, and ate at the La Esperanza located next to the office. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, and our food arrived fast. It was so good!! It only loses a star because the food was served just slightly above warm... we had to eat pretty fast before it got cold. read more

This was some of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. The prices are fantastic, and the serving sizes are amazing. Such a bargain. There is more than one location for this restaurant. The one I ate at tonight is the one that is in the strip mall. I ordered the "Los Tres Hermanos", which has two grilled tilapia fillets, a half a dozen grilled shrimp, and several large chunks of crab meat served on top of a very rich (and cheesy) Mexican style rice. It was so delicious, and for $10.00 it was an amazing bargain. They could charge $20.00 for this entree, and I suspect they would still sell a lot of it due to how deliciously us it is. Even at $20.00 it would not be over priced. It was so delicious that I seriously doubt that I will ever order anything else from this place. It was perfect in every respect. I live locally, and this restaurant is a local favorite. I rarely eat out that I don't eat here. The food is incredible, the portions are generous, the service is great - honestly, I have never been to a restaurant where I get my food faster than I do here on average. If you go on a Sunday afternoon (busiest time) you might wait a while, but otherwise they are very fast. Your drink never goes dry. In short, great food, great service, great eating experience. It's the Mexican go to place in middlesboro. Not to pleased with 3$ cheese dip though, but food is great.

By far, the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Also, they have two locations, but the one on Cumberland Ave (connected to the Days Inn) is the best. It has a nicer atmosphere, more attentive staff, and the food tastes better. If you love chorizo, they have a great dish called the Chorizo Loco. I love it! Their burritos and enchiladas and tacos are also very good. This is definitely one of the few restaurants in the area that I really like and highly recommend. read more
