We were passing through Jackson on a road trip. I don't know where to start on this restaurant. If we had gone to the bathroom BEGORE we ate - we would have left. Bathroom was not clean at all. Very dirty, very outdated, not kept clean. The food was very bland. Not much of a selection - weird menu. Serves pizza. The food was not well made. Almost like a kid was cooking. Bland seasoning, odd presentation. Service was very slow. We waited 10 minutes for drinks. My meal came out first then 10 minutes later the other two people with me got their food. Flies abundant. Great food great people! Love the pizza! The food is so tasty! I love Mexican food and this is the place to go to get it.

Atmosphere was good, crowded as usual but service was quick and with a smile. The waiter kept my water glass full and my wife's glass full of Diet Pepsi. My wife had chicken polo con arroz and I had not sure how to spell it but came in it's own big black kettle. To be honest it looked like everything they may have had in or on the stove they threw it in. The steak too tough to eat, shrimp was ok but chicken was delicious. Now the rest of the stuff in the bowl from what looked like ground beef, bacon drowning in colored grease. I managed to put enough chicken, shrimp and vegetables on a fajita to actually eat some of it. As usual my wife's dinner appeared much better than mine, she said it was pretty good. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Their chips and cheese are amazing and as a plus size transgender this place is very accessible. They get 3 tables just for me and i order the chicken fagiita... The ambience was almost the best I've experienced at a cultural restaurant. The mariachi music they played was absolutely awesome. Now, the food; I and two others in our group ordered the same thing (our standard @ Latino restaurants) and it was below average. The tortilla chips and queso were pretty good (these are usually the same everywhere anyway) and the carbonated beverages were served from pitchers so it was sort of flat. Overall it wasn't a truly bad experience, just don't go and focus completely on the food. If you want to go with a group of friends and enjoy the setting, by all means this is for you. read more

Sadly, Sazon did not live up to the hype it received. As someone who is not originally from here I went for the first time tonight. The service was incredibly mediocre. The queso lacked thickness. The food was below average. I was unimpressed with the vibe of the restaurant as well. On top of all that the Margarita pitcher we ordered tasted like grape cough medicine. We were unable to finish it because it was so bad. Ultimately I understand that we are in a small town. I got so many positive reviews about Sazon and the fact that it did not live up to the hype was incredibly sad. read more

The wait staff was very kind and attentive. They were the only good thing about the place. Our food was awful. We got a the ground beef taco.....there's no way it was real meat and it certainly wasn't cow....wood pulp with beef flavoring??? Honestly couldn't tell. Had lunch here today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was fast and attentive, and the food was good. I had the Sopa de Pollo (chicken soup) and it was delicious. My dining partners all commented that they thought that the food was well above average for Mexican places. One person said the Enchiladas Suizas was the best he'd had in a long time with just the right amount of heat. The bathroom was a bit sketchy but not terrible. This is the newest of 3 Mexican restaurants in Hazard, KY. I have been a longtime patron of one of their competitors, and I am really considering switching to this place. It is located very close to the Walmart at the very end of the shopping center. Parking is somewhat cumbersome due to being located right at the entrance/exit of the shopping center parking lot. Service is wonderful! It's very clean and has nice authentic decor. The food is much more flavorful and also seems to be more authentic than the others in town. read more

Was in from out of town for some off roading on Black Mtn & the Zip Line. We loved the place. Nice decor, great staff, quick & friendly ! The food was Awesome. I had a beef Chimichanga, husband a chicken Enchilada (spelled wrong?) Some of the best Mexican food we've had and we've been to Mexico. With so few options beyond fast food in the area we were so glad they were here! Really !!! We come to the area often for off roading and will most defiantly be back ;) When our large group joins us on future trips I know they'll enjoy it too read more

Really good food. The Sazon dip is definitely worth trying. I may have to duplicate it at home. No NA beer. No hot sauce. Too much cheese in the chile rellenos but the Azteca chimichanga had great flavor so on the whole it was really good. read more
