We have multiple Mexican restaurants in town and this one is by far my favorite! They even have 1/2 orders

If I'm eating Mexican I eat from La Pena, to me there food is un beatable! I'm just not a fan of Sazon but hey you might be!

I've tried a bunch of dishes and have not been disappointed. I usually get chicken fajitas, faja quesadilla, or pizza. They do a great job on all. Servers are pretty friendly too. It's a pleasant experience with each visit. read more

Excellent food and service. Great prices. The food is delicious and they offer large portion sizes.

We were passing through Jackson on a road trip. I don't know where to start on this restaurant. If we had gone to the bathroom BEGORE we ate - we would have left. Bathroom was not clean at all. Very dirty, very outdated, not kept clean. The food was very bland. Not much of a selection - weird menu. Serves pizza. The food was not well made. Almost like a kid was cooking. Bland seasoning, odd presentation. Service was very slow. We waited 10 minutes for drinks. My meal came out first then 10 minutes later the other two people with me got their food. Flies abundant. Soup for salsa. Non-English speaking staff. Dirty tables. DO NOT recommend. read more

Two visits and both times tried to Over Charge for margaritas $19.99 not $10.99. Called them out on it and they changed the ticket. This happened twice! read more

Good solid 4 star. Was missing the spice pop I'm use to at other Mexican Restaurants but still very good and lots of food. read more

Great service and great food. Waiters are friendly and get your orders right. Our waiter was Arnold he was awesome

Great food great people! Love the pizza! The food is so tasty! I love Mexican food and this is the place to go to get it.

Atmosphere was good, crowded as usual but service was quick and with a smile. The waiter kept my water glass full and my wife's glass full of Diet Pepsi. My wife had chicken polo con arroz and I had not sure how to spell it but came in it's own big black kettle. To be honest it looked like everything they may have had in or on the stove they threw it in. The steak too tough to eat, shrimp was ok but chicken was delicious. Now the rest of the stuff in the bowl from what looked like ground beef, bacon drowning in colored grease. I managed to put enough chicken, shrimp and vegetables on a fajita to actually eat some of it. As usual my wife's dinner appeared much better than mine, she said it was pretty good. read more

Sazon Mexican Restaurant - Salsa very good - Mexican Near Me - Hazard, Kentucky

See all

The ambience was almost the best I've experienced at a cultural restaurant. The mariachi music they played was absolutely awesome. Now, the food; I and two others in our group ordered the same thing (our standard @ Latino restaurants) and it was below average. The tortilla chips and queso were pretty good (these are usually the same everywhere anyway) and the carbonated beverages were served from pitchers so it was sort of flat. Overall it wasn't a truly bad experience, just don't go and focus completely on the food. If you want to go with a group of friends and enjoy the setting, by all means this is for you. read more

Sazon Mexican Restaurant - Booth (the seating is mostly booths) - Mexican Near Me - Hazard, Kentucky

Yum! I love Sazon's and have never been disappointed by them. Pre-covid, and now (the end times), Sazon's has been consistently timely, with wonderful customer service, and of course, delicious food! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Their chips and cheese are amazing and as a plus size transgender this place is very accessible. They get 3 tables just for me and i order the chicken fagiita... The service is amazing but i got ice in my guacamole and still ate it.... -1 star but good job my dear border hoppers. read more

Amazing food and service. Best Mexican food you'll find in Hazard, KY. This place helps me forget how sad I was when the Undertaker lost his first and only Wrestlemania 2014. Not only did the incredible streak end for no good reason, but my god the match sucked. Oh yeah, the chimichangas are amazing. read more

Passing through town stopped here for lunch. Food was hot and delicious! Excellent customer service!

The service and the food are excellent! It's the closest to authentic Mexican food around here. Reasonable prices and the coldest beer in town. read more

My daughter & boyfriend just moved here & I'm a foody , honestly the best service & food , share , they give u so much ! I love Mexico

Sadly, Sazon did not live up to the hype it received. As someone who is not originally from here I went for the first time tonight. The service was incredibly mediocre. The queso lacked thickness. The food was below average. I was unimpressed with the vibe of the restaurant as well. On top of all that the Margarita pitcher we ordered tasted like grape cough medicine. We were unable to finish it because it was so bad. Ultimately I understand that we are in a small town. I got so many positive reviews about Sazon and the fact that it did not live up to the hype was incredibly sad. read more

Stopped here for the good reviews to order some carry out. It took 15 minutes to get a menu to look at. After ordering, it took over 30 minutes to get my carry out order. Unacceptably slow. It wasn't even busy. There were maybe 4 tables and less than 10 people. read more

I've been here a few times and I've never had a bad experience ever. Food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is top-notch. Definitely the best restaurant in Hazard, no question. read more

Sazon's is by far the best Mexican food in town. It is our favorite restaurant. It is always delicious and we've not had a single bad thing from their menu, it's all pretty tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and smells wonderful even from outside. If you are looking for a good place to eat, this is it. read more

We only had 3 of us. Busy Saturday night. They seated us immediately. Drinks and food was very fast. Service was great. Refills were quick. Prices comparable to other Mexican restaurants. The interior design was typical of other strip mall restaurants. read more

It's definitely not what it's hyped up to be. Service is slow, and the chips always are stale. I would recommend driving a mile further down 80 and going to Lapenas. Lapenas is the best Mexican I've ever ate. read more

My chicken fajitas were very tender and really tasty. The most impressive thing about this resturant was the server who carried 6 plates of food on 1 arm at a very quick pace read more

The wait staff was very kind and attentive. They were the only good thing about the place. Our food was awful. We got a the ground beef taco.....there's no way it was real meat and it certainly wasn't cow....wood pulp with beef flavoring??? Honestly couldn't tell. The shrimp in the chimichanga was good but it was served in such a mess of sauces that it was more like soup than a burrito. The entire tortilla was smothered in the cheese sauce. read more

If you want Mexican go to Sazon and give them a try! If you like spicy, I recommend Pollo Picosso!!

The service is great. Their food is reasonably priced and very tasty. My favorite is their Mocajete!

Had lunch here today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was fast and attentive, and the food was good. I had the Sopa de Pollo (chicken soup) and it was delicious. My dining partners all commented that they thought that the food was well above average for Mexican places. One person said the Enchiladas Suizas was the best he'd had in a long time with just the right amount of heat. The bathroom was a bit sketchy but not terrible. I'd definitely recommend this as a great place to eat in Hazard. read more

The food is always hot and fresh! They have the best pico de Gallo in town. Jorge treats my family like we are his family.

Food is decent at best. More pricer than other local Mexican locations in the surrounding counties

Best Mexican food I've ever eaten! Very friendly staff and very quick service as well! A must try if you are in Hazard.

Loved. Loved. Loved this place!! Who knew you would find excellent Mexican food in Hazard KY! The Arroz con Pollo was sooooo GOOD!! I went back the next day and had Chicken Enchiladas, which were good as well. These folks aren't afraid and know how to use seasoning! I will be talking about that Arroz con Pollo for a long time. I will DEFINITELY go back if I'm in the area again. read more

Good food, great pizza! Their complimentary salsa is not good though It has way to much much garlic powder.

Had a fantastic dinner here after a major grad school exam. Great food, strong drinks, excellent service. I highly recommend the chorizo dip and enchiladas de mole. read more

First time here , food is to die for. I got the chimichanga was so good, service is fast and restaurant is very well themed. I will be back again read more

This is the newest of 3 Mexican restaurants in Hazard, KY. I have been a longtime patron of one of their competitors, and I am really considering switching to this place. It is located very close to the Walmart at the very end of the shopping center. Parking is somewhat cumbersome due to being located right at the entrance/exit of the shopping center parking lot. Service is wonderful! It's very clean and has nice authentic decor. The food is much more flavorful and also seems to be more authentic than the others in town. read more

I absolutely love this place! Some of the best Mexican I have ever had. The chimichanga and ground beef chile relleno are my favorites.

Was in from out of town for some off roading on Black Mtn & the Zip Line. We loved the place. Nice decor, great staff, quick & friendly ! The food was Awesome. I had a beef Chimichanga, husband a chicken Enchilada (spelled wrong?) Some of the best Mexican food we've had and we've been to Mexico. With so few options beyond fast food in the area we were so glad they were here! Really !!! We come to the area often for off roading and will most defiantly be back ;) When our large group joins us on future trips I know they'll enjoy it too read more

The food is pretty good. It would be better if they used real cheese in it rather than processed white american.
