All went well.. Good food and service. Friendly people. Will be happy to go again. Have shared with my friends.

Late lunch, the place was empty. Actually depressing inside. Service was good from the waiter. Food was ok, but the Green Chile (pork) looked unappealing and like cat food. It wasn't bad though. Meat had no fat which is a good thing. They just need to make the plate appearance more appealing. Ground beef enchiladas good, cheese enchiladas with green sauce, didn't seem cooked enough. Doughy tortilla. Beans ok, rice ok. read more

First time here. I was craving Mexican food (which I usually don't) so suggested to my boyfriend we come over here for lunch after picking up some groceries. He had the chile relleno/enchilada combo. I got a bite of the chile relleno. It was delicious! I can't speak for the enchilada but his plate was clean at the end of lunch, so it must have been good. :) I had the machaca and eggs. It was delicious. It came out nice and hot, with a nice array of different colored peppers (including my favorite, yellow!) instead of just boring red and green. I would have liked them sliced a little smaller because they were in long fajita strips, but not a problem. The beans were a little bland (we both added salsa to ours, which helped a lot) and the rice was delicious. Fluffy red Mexican rice is truly one of the great joys of life, though. The tortillas were probably not made from scratch but that's irrelevant. They were nice and warm and perfect for scooping up my lunch. The waitress was attentive and kept our drinks full (we each just had water.) She also asked if we wanted lemon, which was a nice touch that I don't often see. Inside it's not much to look at, no fun murals or decorations, but it was clean. The booths are pretty basic, and comfortable. A lot of the time I tend to get fidgety and uncomfortable because the table is too close to the booth and there's no room, especially if you are, shall we say, generously proportioned, as I am. Didn't get any photos of my lunch because I was hungry and it was delicious, and to paraphrase Fred Willard in "Best In Show", I went after it like it was made outta ham. Will definitely be back. read more

This place gets one star because the best thing about it was the service. The food however was not even slightly good. Tried the chicken fried steak and let's say put it nicely.... It was incredible. It was easier to break in half with my hands than using the knife and fork. The gravy was watery and didn't have a pleasant taste either. The hash browns were one step away from charcoal. The New York strip steak that was ordered medium was not even close. It was more of a well done to hockey puck than medium. Overall won't be going back. Ambiance was run down and not charming or inviting. For my money I would choose somewhere else. read more

Very disappointed .... Cashier was nice but look at the pictures would you pay 13.99 plus tip for that ... gotta go find somewhere else to get soup for my sick wife ... never coming back read more

La Dona - Mexican Near Me - Yuma, Arizona

Delightful small restaurant on the Frontage Road east of town in the Foothills area of Yuma. The chips were light and tasty, and their homemade salsa was so good I bought some to take home. The offer of small plates was appreciated and there was still plenty of food. Authentic chile rellenos and enchiladas with fresh tortillas and a rich sauce. We even got some flan to go. Delicious! We enjoyed chatting with our helpful and friendly waiter. We will return! read more

went about 430, early dinner. food wasn't very good, combos were very small, american foods was said to have a funny tast. Have tasted better mexican in yuma for the same price. try other places read more

Ground beef taste freezer burnt. Ruined the whole taco salad. This was my first and last time at this restaurant

Pretty spacious local mom and pop Mexican restaurant vibe. We got chimichanga, chile rellano (red and green), enchiladas. Pretty good margaritas. Small portion friendly restaurant! read more

Clean and well organized restaurant. Food and food service were excellent. Will come again.

We were hungry for Mexican food , our first time there, we were very impressed with our server , and the food was delicious. We had fish tacos and the chile relleno and enchilada combo plate. The rice was fluffy and delicious and the beans wear warm and on point. We will be definitely coming back. From Buckeye Arizona . read more

Service was excellent, food was very good. Clean and well maintained. Had breakfast eggs and sausage and bacon and huevos divorcias? Both were delish! Will be back. read more

Service was great the fact they have Coke products is a plus. The food was adequate. But with so many authentic Mexican food spots in Yuma you can do better than a torta served on a hot dog bun & a chewy chili Relleno. read more

Family owned, friendly atmosphere with delicious food. Stop in during happy hour for low price delicious Margaritas. I had the Chili Verde and it was delicious. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Sorry LA Dona but I just don't think the food is that good. I wanted to like it, I've been 4 or 5 times hoping it would be better each time. The worse part for me is the chips and salsa. It's not very good and very watery. My favorite part of a sit down Mexican restaurant is getting chips and salsa and a margarita. I will say that the service has always been very good. read more

Buyer beware....... Cadillac Margarita was $28.00!!!!! Ridiculous. Food was only fair. Salsa was very runny and Guacamole was a puree. Won't return. read more

I gave them an extra star because of them being slightly understaffed. Food was mediocre at best. My husband ate his and his fav was the rice (that doesn't say much). I ordered 2 eggs over easy, extra crispy hash browns, and the chicken fried steak. Nothing crazy. The eggs came out over hard York broken and fried hard, the hasbtowns were not even slightly toasted and I cut into my chicken fried steak and it was cold in the middle. The waiter never checked on us, I ended up walking up to the bar to find my waiter and numerous employees walked around me but didn't ask if I was ok. Finally our waiter came seemed annoyed that I sent my food back and he went and spoke with the kitchen and I asked them to X it. They removed it from the bill and we went to Rick's down the road. We tried. read more

Chips weren't filled past the rim of the basket in height. Second basket $1.99 should have brought our own chips. Never seen a Mexican restaurant skimp on chips. We had 2 meals and an appetizer. We are chip people, so it's a deal breaker with us and we won't be back. Server was polite, food served hot, and it was tasty. Still, skimping on chips, isn't something that goes well with us. read more

La Dona - As you can see in the photo, our first basket was smaller and again not past the rim in height. $1.99 for your second basket. - Mexican Near Me - Yuma, Arizona

After much hype we decided to have La Dina's for breakfast. I had the chiliques w Red sauce, hash browns & over medium eggs. First. My eggs were over easy which I cannot eat runny egg whites. YUCK! The chiliques were ok. I hoped for much more. The tortillas were very soggy. The red sauce tasted like it was out of a can. Hubby got the classic breakfast. He said it was good. Only 1 pc of toast which came unbuttered. Our friends ordered chiliques and one ordered a ham steak breakfast. She felt the same about the chiliques. He enjoyed his ham steak breakfast he wished it would've come w toast. We did order the coffee cake. That honestly was the best. Would have been amazing served warm but was still delish!! Definitely saved the meal. I'd give la Dona another try just not breakfast. read more

The menudohad no flavor mostly hot water and idk just weird they also forgot my tortillas

It's the best Mexican restaurant in the area but that's not saying much. The fajitas have a good amount of vegetables which is nice. The taco salad is so small as to be laughable. We only go when we don't feel like driving further. read more

All over the USA & Mexico I've never had such a fajita. Not served sizzling on an iron skillet , cold tortillas, skimpy stale chips fee but $1.99 for another skimpy stale bunch. Salsa was watery & bland like red water Save your money. read more

I ordered out to go, The host was very nice and polite. However I order 3 tamales and they were not wrapped in there shell, which usually they should be served in there shell to help with not drying out. They had hardly any beef in them and they were very very small. 3 tamales cost me $15.01. It was horribly priced considering that was my complete order and came with nothing else. For $5 a tamale they shouldn't be the size of a small salt shaker and dried out. read more

La Doña just opened recently in the old Chicken on the Run building. I've seen it passing by on Frontage and was excited to try it today! I went for breakfast and decided to stray from my usual breakfast burrito order that I typically get from Mexican restaurants. I got the huevos con chorizo and coffee, and my son ordered the waffle with bacon from the small plates menu with some milk. The entire meal came to $15 with tax and all, so it was really very reasonably priced I think! TONS of food! The huevos con chorizo was good! It came with a massive burrito sized tortilla so I could have turned my meal into a breakfast burrito after all, but it was delicious as is. I got a side of beans at the recommendation of my server, Sheila, who was spot on - it was good. (Also, Shelia was an absolute doll! Loved having her as our waitress!) The serving of bacon that came with the small plates was 4 big slices. My only complaint about the food is that the waffle was over cooked and part of it was super crunchy, but my son eats like a bird anyway so he still had plenty of food to choose from regardless. But next time when we come, we will try pancakes for him instead. I can't wait to try the lunch/dinner here! We will be back for sure. read more

I thought I would get this place another try after being disappointed before. I tried the chorizo and eggs this morning. The portions were very small and the tiniest tortillas I've ever seen. The service was great but the food lacked much flavor. read more

Ordered a strawberry margarita and a large carne asada burrito. The margarita was good, not sure how much tequila was in it. The whole burrito was very dry, the meat was cut in very small cuts and dry, not very big for being large. Staff were nice but we were disappointed in the food. read more

Although our waiter was attentive and good, he had a dirty shirt...like he was just doing dishes. Service ...no issue, since COVID, the bar is low. Chips and salsa is pathway to any great Mexican restaurant. I have never seen so few tortilla chips...maybe 12 and a tiny bit of what they called salsa. More like tomato soup with hot sauce. We have been in Yuma for over a month...retirees EVERYWHERE. Our entire time here, we always wondered why the parking lot is always empty? Clear as mud now, food was terrible...just bad? We didn't both order...we decided to split the plate because of the perpetual empty parking lot warning sign. Every restaurant has a line of people's waiting on tables. Sorry folks, waiter was very good..., stops there. Taco Bell is better hands down! read more

Food substandard the service was good! These people were in with their dog, and it was begging that she pretended that it was a service animal. I had to say something! Discussing! Won't go back. Lack of ambiance! There is nothing to write home about. read more

Worst restaurant to ever go to! we went this past Saturday restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. Called ahead of time to reserved for a table. The food was so disgusting. The food came out at all different times missing certain items on the plates. One of the plates had a fly in it. The waiter seemed very overwhelmed when it was just us when we sent the food back because it was missing stuff or the fly in the food. He even told us why did we come here? like why would he even say!! do they not want customers? We were not rude at all the restaurant was completely empty so I don't understand why noah acted the way he did. Waste of our time everyone should avoid this restaurant. It's also very warm inside the restaurant. We had to ask if they can turn on the ceiling fans. read more

I was so hoping for a good taco. First they gave us a little basket of stale chips. They charge if you want a refill which we didn't. They weren't good. I ordered a large margarita which was described as a fish bowl, it was not a fishbowl although it was a large round glass. I've had much bigger at other local restaurants. I ordered the crispy tacos. They were ground beef. I'd have preferred chicken but the menu stated ground beef and the waiter did not give me a choice. By the way, the waiter was very nice and very attentive. I like ground beef so I thought, what the heck, I'll go with that. I was served my 2 skinny tacos in pre formed stale shells. The meat was flavorless. Taco Bell does much better! The background music was nice but the carpet was filthy and I was not impressed at all. I wish we'd have gone to the taco truck next door. We definitely won't be back. read more

First and last time there. First thing ordered was a Margarita. I think a can of tomato soup would have more alcohol in it. Complained, but they charged us anyway. I ordered a ground beef burrito and noticing the words beans and rice in the description, I jumped to the conclusion that the burrito would come with beans and rice. It did not. My plate had one unsauced burrito with a smidgen of lettuce and even smaller piece of tomato. My wife ordered tamales. Bland, tasteless, my wife ate a little of one and left the rest. I know that it might be unfair to judge a restaurant by one visit and a couple of entrees, but we're not going back to try again. read more

This new place is open for breakfast on the weekends. I can only comment on breakfast cuz it's the only meal I've had there. I ordered chilaquiles and you get a choice of red or green sauce and how you want your eggs cooked. In my mind I thought traditional chili's is a green sauce so I went with that and traditionally it's a scrambled egg so I went with that. Your choice of sides are fruit cup or beans or some variety of potato. I went with a traditional beans so I basically a traditional plate. And it was awesome! The green sauce is delightful and they let the chips soak in it and get kind of that perfect gooey vibe. The beans are hot with a little bit of cheese on them and the eggs were cooked perfect no brown in the scramble. Next time I'm going to try the juevos rancheros. They also sell breakfast burritos to go in case you're driving by on the way to San Diego or Phoenix. They have a fun little fish tank and they serve beer. They have their own parking lot. I didn't get a chance to look at the restrooms but I'm sure they're in good shape. read more
