Make sure and let them know if you have an allergy to onions before you order just cheese enchiladas.

Ordered the cheese enchiladas. Their red sauce is on point. A little too much onions for me but I'll be sure and tell em no onions next time. My husband had the rib eye in ranchera sauce and it was cooked to perfection. Nothing was over salted. Not a fan of the Spanish style rice or the beans but I'm a spoiled Mexican. This is our 2nd trip here and we will be back.. Service has never been an issue. We're asked what we need when we needed it. Ambiance was a little on the fabuloso side. Meaning I don't like to smell this smell while eating their delicious food.

La Cueva burrito

We've been eating at La Cueva for many many years. The restaurant is a several generations family owned restaurant. It's a great place. Food really good and consistent. Spice and temperature always hot. Yum. Located on E. Colfax 1/2 block from Dayton. I think the current climate on E. Colfax has put a damper on the number of people that are frequenting La Cueva. It's too bad. Please get it a try. Not the yellow cheese, bland Mexican food that is all over Denver. Owner is friendly. Works there. We want them to be able to stay in business.

#4 tostado, enchilada, bean burrito smothered in green or red chile- with additional burrito.

I LOVE this place - it's been a staple since childhood and is food I can always rely on (home made tortillas make everything better). Service is always great, I tend to get there shortly after open so I never have any issue or delay on anything. The inside hasn't changed a lot since I've been eating at La Cueva (for 25 years) - so it feels like home. Colorful, and historic. It's ALWAYS my first stop when I fly home.

Great food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. A bit overpriced; beans and rice are an extra charge.

Best unique homestyle mexican food in the neighborhood. If you want low quality ingredients and fast food go elsewhere.

Great mexican food! Try the chile rellenos or the tacos al pastor. A classic for Denverites!

I've eaten here twice. The food and service were very good and the prices were fair. I will go again.

Almost all of the wines by the glass are half off. No discount for food. The only front employee on Tuesday is Jennie who is the bartender at Spuntino the other days of the week. They have a kitchen person. Very large offerings of wines on a chalkboard. They offer cocktails and a light food menu + Charcuterie. I was first to arrive, but shortly later another 10 persons arrived in various groups. Plenty of seating on 2 floors. I sat at the 2 sided bar. I asked for recommendations. They have a classic French champagne, Domaine Berthold Cremant d'Alsace, normally $18 for $9. Crisp and refreshing. I got the Hummus and Onion Dill dip plate with crackers & veggies with red peppers, heirloom carrots, radishes and apple slices. I paired it with a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. Lots of minerality but not as sweet from Sauvignon Blanc's from New Zealand. Next was the Brioche Melt with cappiola, Brie and raspberry habanero jam & Spanish potato chips. Jennie recommended the Barahonda Monastrell from Spain. A fuller bodied red wine with a bit of tannin to compliment the sandwich. They do not have a service charge, but do add a credit card fee. Very enjoyable happy hour. Jennie said reservations are not necessary on Fri or Sat. They have occasional wine events and you can create your own wine flights.

I was hoping for a bit more excitement about the wines on the list and ability to provide education/insight from the staff. Asked for someone to tell me more about a wine and told it was "good" which isn't really the detail I'm looking for would be 5 stars for me if it was more like my go-to fave from Houston (shout out Vinology) where staff was clearly so passionate, knowledgeable, and wanted to help everyone fall in love with wine.

As our walk got longer and extended we found ourselves in this little pocket of business area in the Park Hill neighborhood. Come to think of it, I have utilized a good handful of the restaurants in the last 5 years or so and Neighbors was one of them. I remember one of my friends (out of touch) and I came here for a flight of mezcal or tequila or some sort. The Yelp review I wrote back then dated over 5+ years. It all of a sudden became a moment of "walking back the memory lane". The time was 8:40pm or so. Although the restaurant doesn't close until 10pm, the kitchen was about to close (at 9pm.) Our stomach was still quite full from the dinner; we only needed after dinner drinks. Monday night at 8:45pm, the bar barely had any people in it. Dimly lit, the ambiance was quite exquisite. We noticed all sorts of wine cork art decorations on the walls and even the ceiling The kind waitress of ours allowed me to sample a few different reds (a Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi and a blend from Washington state.) Although the blend smelled better on the nose, the Cabernet tasted better on the palate. Decision making as to which one came easy: the Cabernet was the winner. I'm not much of a jammy Cabernet person. This Cab from Lodi, no wonder, appealed to me. Very structured, not necessarily velvety either and yet it's got a good character to it. The name of it is Klinker Brick (and the vintage is 2023). As of early June 2026, a glass of this solid Cab is/was $14.25. It became a nice "after dinner" wine to settle into the late night. As I stated earlier, this is a little picket of neighborhood that's mostly consisted of beautiful homes with $900k ranges. Unless you specifically do searches for restaurants in the very area, this will easily escape many people's notice. But that's the charm of it. Being away from the so-called "hip town vibes", I like this little quiet spot. And this wine bar's existence in it perfectly fits the description.

Why you may ask Outstanding vibe from ALL the staff from manager to bus people. I always feel recognized and they remember what I think makes a good experience. Have a favorite table or tweak to a drink, they accommodate. manager staff greets you with a smile and a genuine sense that they are glad to see you. If that in itself is not enough specialty drinks (especially during happy hour) ranging from the shot-o-pus to pitchers of well crafted Paloma's there is always something including mock tales for those who choose to be more reserved. I would go here if they didnt serve food just for the atmosphere and friendly staff but you would be missing out... Carnitas are my protein of choice wether in fajita form or pre built taco they are juicy and crispy and avoid breaking down into the stew meat that plagues other places. The crispy fish taco is nice and lightly battered as well. I also have to admit the double decker taco (admit it you stole this from taco bell) is the concept finally done right with quality ingredients completely different experience and quite tasty. Last visit my favorite table was full it happen right? What doesnt usually happen is the manager had the table cleaned and said he would be happy to move us as he knew that was our favorite. Quality product and customer first attitude from all the staff plus the beach vibe makes Lady Nomada a must try. Just dont take my favorite table :)

I was by myself, and the waiter walked right by me numerous times and finally after about 15 minutes he comes over and wants to take my order... whoa... how about a drink and some chips and salsa first. So, several minutes later, they show up and he wants to take the order. I said let me enjoy these for a bit and come back in about 10 minutes. The salsa was really good but pretty spicy. So, he comes back and takes the order. I had the steak fajitas. They were not what I was expecting. The steak was ok, but not too many veggies, and just a small amout of cheese. The rice was white rice which seemed strange. Beans were ok. An extra plate for the tortillas would have been nice. I asked for a drink refill and it took at least 20 minutes. I got pretty annoyed. He finally said something like "I've been really busy" or something like that. It was a bit mumbly and I didn't bother to ask. I won't be back.
