Amazing cake! We got the vanidoso, which was incredible. One of the best we've ever purchased.

This is my 3rd time going, and it's better every time, definitely the best bakery in AZ. I know…read morethey get a lot of heat about the price of each of the pastries but it's worth every penny. I love how they collaborate with local businesses and bring unique flavors to their pastries. I normally get their weekend specials which change every weekend. My favorite so far has been this past week which was the guava cheesecake cruffin. As someone with Cuban parents who lived in Miami for years, this tasted like home in the best way. I'm sad it's only a one-time deal; otherwise, I'd be there every weekend to get one, and I'd be as big as a house haha. I simply can't say enough good things about this place, my only complaint was that the first time I went they put my cruffin (not in photo) in a paper bag so all the filling ran out on the paper bag so super messy and it was so hard to eat, I would assume they ran out of boxes that day but they should have mentioned that before I got one otherwise I would have eaten it there. Other than that service was great and super friendly The parking lot is small for the shopping center depending on the time of day you go so you just need to circle for a spot.

The first few times we came here about three or four years ago. It was phenomenal. Fabulous…read moreservice, fabulous pastries, and reasonable wait times. Nice ambience with ample seating. Over the last year, the service and quality have gone downhill. This location is NOT set up to accommodate a rush / long line. The staff asks what you want at the refrigerator case, not giving you time to look at the entire selection available in the cases after that. The eclairs are delicious. The chocolate croissants are good. The almond croissants don't taste like almond at all. The quiches are so so. We got the apricot special and the fluffy apricot topping tasted off to me so I didn't eat the rest of it. All the other things that we've had there are just mediocre and nothing really special to warrant the high prices. The service people at this location need to take a lesson in hospitality and courtesy. They all exude the attitude that they can't be bothered to answer any questions. And they rush you through the line. Every time we come to JL we eat inside and never want our food to be boxed up. However, the default is to just box everything up. When we tell them that we are actually eating inside and would like things warmed up they roll their eyes at us or give us attitude like they couldn't be bothered. The last six times we have been there they have been out of Babka. This is not sold during the week and only on Saturdays and Sundays. They say that it is a specialty item and they sell other specialty items on Fridays, but for some reason, not the babka. And it's not able to be ordered online. After six times of going and not having it available, and with The attitude of the staff working here, we've decided to not come back to this location. I just find a different pastry shop to go to in Phoenix. It's highly overpriced for what you get. Many of the items are overly sweet and are starting to taste mass produced. Also The cloth chair cushions in the corner are absolutely filthy and that whole surrounding area is full of crumbs. I almost took a picture of it when we were in there, but did not. The little tables provided for that area were both wobbly.

I cannot believe how long it took me to discover this gem!…read more My husband and I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and we're just blown away by absolutely everything in the shop Everything is a work of art. The only complaint I have is that it's impossible to eat everything at one time. Went back for a second visit today with my mother and had another fabulous experience. They changed the pastries up weekly and truly everything tastes every bit as good as it looks. The line was long today. We must've gone at peak time, but it moved quickly, and everyone was so professional and courteous. Simply amazing!

I have been wanting to come here to see for myself if the goods are worth it, and they most definitely are!! There's seating indoors, but not a lot of tables, so you may have to just take your order to go. The line was moving pretty fast and we came around 11 in hopes that we would catch the special collaboration sandwich made possible by Loco Style Grindz and J.L. Patisserie. Thank you, Instagram for the heads up on the collab! We were so relieved to see there were 2 left when we got there. The employee asked if we wanted them heated up, and we said yes please! Of course, I had to grab some sweets for later and my friend chose the Lemon Meringue Pie for her birthday treat. I like the packaging and that there are multiple staff members to assist with checking out customers. We thoroughly enJOYed the sandwiches and the amount of pork in them was filling! They weren't stingy, and they were packing that smokey flavor! The sandwich kept me full for hours! Our drinks were refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness! I love that they have a variety of baked goods to choose from including various quiches, muffins and specialty items. The air conditioning may have been broken because it was pretty warm inside. The tables are a tad small for two people, but we made it work. I will definitely return soon. The ambiance is super casual and prices are average. You will get your money's worth, that's for sure!

Although they did tell me they get four shipments per week and their next shipment should be the next day (Saturday). So I called the next morning and confirmed their Milk Toast was available. So I was able to pick some up along with some ube buns (cannot recall if that's what they're actually called but it was filled with ube custard) which is my new favorite! Was immediately hooked! Ambiance was nice and clean. All of their shelves were nice and neat and everything looks clean. This location has a drive through but it was blocked off with cones. Not sure what that's all about but I'm just glad I didn't take my two little girls with because I was planning on going through the drive through with them. Luckily mama was cool with them staying home while I made a quick solo trip. Overall: 4-stars - Product availability is hit or miss it seems. Can't speak on their drinks or every single product, but the milk toast and ube buns were perfection. Minus one star for product availability but comes with the nature of being a bakery I suppose. Nonetheless would recommend and will be coming back for more ube baked goodness.

I went before deciding that the cheese twist is one of my favorite pastries to get there - salty, cheesy goodness - so that's not included in the photo but I definitely recommend that one for people that enjoy the flavor profile. First time trying a dubai chocolate dessert here - it was tasty but I'm not sure it was worth the $6, nothing groundbreaking about it. I accidentally got the almond pastry because it looks almost identical to the cheese one I wanted, but it was still good. Maybe tie it to a rewards account or whatever coffee shops do, fine. But asking me to pay for a whole second drink? Ridiculous.

They were nice about letting us take as much time as we needed to browse and once we were ready, it was really quick service. After you get your pastries boxed up, you can order a drink at the register. I just like black coffee and got a plain Brazilian cold brew which tasted like any other place but was still good.
