Was never much of a crepe guy UNTIL I tried this place a few months ago. I first ordered the Classic Crepe and was blown away by how simple yet savory it was that I became an immediate fan. Since then I have come back and tried their Nutella, Farmers and Strawberry Crepe and all have been delicious. Always satisfies my cravings for sweets. Since the crepes are so big, it's like you're eating a meal and dessert at the same time. It's also really cool to watch the chef make your crepe right there. They're really focused when making crepes and seem really passionate about it. Crepe a moi also has decent coffee if you need a caffeine boost. As for the space it's about a regular size for a cafe in Berkeley (which means small to medium seating area). It has a very casual vibe with about four big tables inside, with each table able to seat four. So it's a decent spot to grab food with friends or maybe just chill/study. The music has never been too loud, so you can hear your conversations easily or have a nice study zone. I'm definitely coming back for more, there are still so many crepes I want to try. Also the hours on this Yelp page are wrong as they're open on Mondays and their sign on their front door shows they're open on Mondays. read more

I recommend the organic fresh strawberries with nutella crepe if you are craving something sweet or a organic fresh baby spinach with caramelized onions and swiss cheese if you are fixing for something savory. They use buckwheat flour for the savory crepes. They are large, filling and worth it! read more

Not authentic. Real French buckwheat crepes have a buttery exterior. The ones here are dry. If you order one with the fried egg, it will be scrambled. The authentic French way of making a crepe is folding it in a square and leaving the fried egg sunny side up in the middle. read more

Great place for savory or sweet crepes. This time I had the ham and swiss crepe. It was delicious. The crepe was perfect and is a large portion. Perfect for leftovers or to share. It is good to remember ham can be a little salty so I just asked for pepper only instead of salt and pepper. It was really yummy. Very good crepes, just not a great variety of crepe options. There are savory crepes and sweet crepes, but both are basically variations of the same 4 or 5 sweet or savory ingredients. This is not necessarily a terrible thing considering most people will be happy with just a Nutella crepe, but when you've been to places that have a gyro crepe or a raclette crepe, you tend to be a little disappointed when the most complicated option is feta, tomato, olive, and herbs. That said, it's a food truck at the farmer's market. I'll take what I can get and it's still the best food option in Jack London Square. Love that the crepe chefs(?) speak French to each other and that the servings are very generous. One crepe is enough to be very full in my experience. If I had to get nitpicky (which I guess is kinda the point here, right?), I'd say the crepes could be a little thinner. Otherwise, excellent stuff and I look forward to every time. read more

This review is for their crepe stand at the mirage farmers market in Moraga. I have never in my life had to wait so long for a galette. Over 30 minutes for one stupid galette complète. I have gotten crepes from far busier operations in Paris where they only had 1 person working and have never waited more than 5-10 minutes - there were 3 people working at this thing and it still took over 30 minutes. Absolutely insane. I will never return to this stand, nor would I go to their restaurant in Berkeley. read more

My son had a play date at Todos Santos playground. After playing the kids wanted to eat something. We saw La Crepe setting up their stand. I asked if I could place our order since the two kids with me were hungry. The guy said okay. The lady that took our order was very nice and friendly. She was patient too as I let the kids themselves placed their order. We ordered Cinnamon crepe and Organic Strawberry crepe with Nutella. The kids ate all of it in one sitting and it looked really yummy. I tasted my son's crepe and it was great. The price was reasonable for both crepes which was only $12. The kids also love watching them make fresh crepes. It looks easy but a tricky endeavor that requires practice. It's nice that there's a place to get freshly cooked crepes at the Farmer's Market and that they use organic ingredients. Next time I would try the savory crepes myself. They looked delicious too. This stand reminded me of crepe stands in Paris near the Eiffel Tower. It's a "je ne sais qoui" indeed. read more

Mmm, I love crepes and this place does it right. My boyfriend and I visited this place at the Pinole Farmers Market. I ordered the nutella & banana crepe while the bf got the 3 cheese gluten free buckwheat crepe. The crepes were cooked to order so it took a while, but when they were done it was PERFECT. My sweet crepe was filled with tons of banana slices and a good slather of nutella. My bf's crepe was filled with gooey cheese and the buckwheat went well with it. The price was a little steep for me, but I'm willing to pay for it if I'm craving a good crepe on a Saturday. read more

I've been watching this place during construction in my neighborhood just north of campus, waiting to give it a try. Having just eaten there, I am not disappointed. The crepes made by DJ - the owner - are better than any I've had outside of France and as good as any I had when I lived in Paris and Brittany. The savory crepes (galettes) are made with buckwheat flour, as they should be, but rarely are in the US, and are delicious - I had egg, cheese, carmelized onion, and spinach. And the sweet crepes are a delight as well - I went for the classic lemon, butter, and sugar. Fantastic. While you can't eat inside now due to COVID, it is beautifully done. When you go in, be sure to check out the gorgeous parkay table tops. Importantly, a lot of attention paid to cleanliness and safety. This is a welcome addition to my neighborhood. This is the kind of place that will be packed once people begin to go out more - I'm glad to have the chance to go now before the crowds. read more

Maybe you've noticed...I'm a major crepe snob. If I weren't me, I'd read my crepe reviews and think "dang, that girl really thinks she's the crepe authority." Well the truth is, I kind of am. Basically, I've eaten a ridiculous amount of crepes and am happy to report that La Crepe a Moi is almost exactly what my ideal crepe would be: starting with a hearty buckwheat batter, poured to order, and developing a crispy, golden-brown crust when it's been griddled to perfection. Meanwhile, it's covered with a layer of grated swiss cheese, and filled generously - not quite stuffed - with fresh spinach, sweet carmelized onions, or whatever else you fancy in your crepe concoction, and folded into that signature carbolicious triangle. This lovely display of French-ish gastronomy set me back $8.50 at the Jack London Square farmers market, which seemed steep for a paper-plate meal. But, after I had the chance to admire this expertly crafted crepe, served by the friendliest crew of tented chefs, I must say...it's worth the cashola. Hands down best crepes in the east bay. Unassuming little tent and the employees are always very friendly and try their best to accommodate personal requests. Sometimes the wait can be 20 min if they're really swamped but it goes by quickly at the farmers market and it's easily worth the wait. My favorites are the complete (swiss cheese, ham and egg) and the cinnamon crepe. They're cooked perfectly and carefully to order and it makes a difference! Just treated myself to a crepe - savory crepe made with buckwheat - topped with feta, tomatoes, green olives and ham sprinkled with pepper and herbs. This is my favorite stop at the Tuesday Farmers Market in Concord. Portion for the price is awesome. My boyfriends and I can usually share one crepe and it satisfies us both. It turns a shopping in to a little date as we walk around. Owners are two of the nicest people. They have great stories. Not all crepes are created equal? And if you really want to taste the batter - order just butter and light sugar (the crepe should taste like a pastry). And most of all did you know that they are pouring the same crepe recipe used in creperie in the arrondissement of Paris. I am a total geek and love facts like that. I found them at a jelly belly festival in Fairfield. :) Very generously filled with fruit, large portion, good quality, good price, and friendly service! We really LOVED the slight chew to the crepe which makes their recipe unique. You definitely will need a plastic knife to get a bite or just bite straight into it. Other places I've had crepes make them too soft or just unsatisfying in general. The cook takes his time making your crepe, and I noticed he kept adding mini pats of butter as he cooked my Nutella Banana Crepe... Mmmmmmmmmm. I went back to tell them that their crepes were the best we have ever had. The only thing I would suggest is for them to use fresh whipped cream instead of spray can cream. La Crepe a Moi is at the Concord Farmer's Market on Tuesday afternoon. I believe the stand is run by a husband/wife duo. I like to call the husband a "master crepe-ateier," and the wife has started to recognize me from the repeat business. While I'm not a fan of savory crepes, the dessert crepes here are AMAZING! I am a big fan of the "Farmers Crepe:" Nutella, Strawberries, Bananas, and Whipped Cream. This crepe is one of their more expensive- $8, but it is well worth it. I just waited nearly 40 minutes for a Vegetarian Crepe at the Wednesday farmers market at One Kaiser Plaza (in front of the Oakland cathedral). Overall, this is a pretty bad experience. The Food: Eh, not great. The crepe itself is too thin, and easily broke apart. Also, it's so overloaded with green olives that all you taste is the saltiness of the olives, which completely overpower the tomatoes, feta and the "herbs" that were allegedly added. it's definitely a below average crepe. The Service: The young guy taking oders and passing out the finished food seemed comletely overwhelmed and made multiple mistakes on orders while I waited. The Cleanliness: There was a woman prepping food behind the counter with a baby in fabric sling wrapped to the front of her. Somehow this seems wrong.
