First time here and I wasn't too impressed. Sauce was good.. I had the Cajun and Garlic Butter mix and loved the garlic chunks.. Downside is that they don't clean their crawfish, I was legit eating sand. You could see the mud piled up under the tails. Gross. But I spent $30+ so I wasn't gonna let it go to waste.. Ordered takeout and since this place was nearby we decided to try despite the reviews being iffy. Shrimp was soo overcooked and the crawfish and fried crawfish roll was surprisingly not bad! However we did order the crawfish pho and a regular bowl of pho and I'm not sure why people said their crawfish pho was flavorful and unique because there was no difference in the broth we received. Only thing different was one bowl had pieces of crawfish in them. Also , would probably not recommend ordering pho here because the meat are overcooked and chewy. I would also recommend the restaurant to put vegetables (beansprouts, onions, etc) on the side instead of putting them in the bowl. I ended up going to this place a second time before I even finished my first review. Try and go during a down time because there will likely be a wait. Each time I got a pound of shrimp and some crab legs. Both times LA Crawfish delivered successfully. The flavor was so good. I do like the spicy better than the regular. And you have the option of trying a sauce on the side which I did the second time on the chile lime. I don't think I could get my seafood dipped in that, but it was tasty enough on the side once you got past the oil. The sausage and corn. So good by itself! This place is BYOB. I'm assuming because they don't have a drink station and everything is bottled, but they might want to do something about that cooler water. Came for a friends birthday. Even off season, there's a ton of people that come here. Got a mixed bag of things, lot of crawfish, shrimp, and fried chicken. The crawfish was somewhat disappointing, flavor isn't as intense as other viet-crawfish places. Same can be said for the shrimp. The chicken bits were quite nice though. It was unanimous amongst our table of four to this place had the worst crawfish we have all ever had. We decided to come here on a rainy day about a month ago wanting to eat crawfish but not wanting to get wet, so Boilhouse and The Boot were out of the question. My husband and I vaguely remember eating at this location years ago and thought it might be a nice respite from the rain. We ordered a few different spices of crawfish along with some crab so we had a pretty good idea of the breadth of the menu and the quality of it. The crab was fine but the crawfish was absolutely awful - each individual crawfish from all the different spices was mushy and the area where you break apart the body from the head was barely holding itself together which to me seems like it meant the crawfish were either previously frozen or in general bad quality. I have only ever had mushy crawfish when they are dead prior to being boiled (tail is usually straight instead of curled). We will not be returning this season or any future season. First, this place have the tastiest crawfish and shrimp( not better than mines, but close enough)... Lol. The last time I came here, I shared half a pound of shrimp with my husband. He kept accusing me of sneaking to eat his shrimp off his plate. I told him no. I decided to place an order for 1 lb of boiled shrimp and weigh them. As you can see from my photo, clearly I was intentionally shorted. I did not eat any, as you can see the bag has not been disturbed from when I picked up the order. Any restaurant that sells anything by the pound, have scales to measure for accuracy. In this case, the shrimp were weighed and served to me how the company saw fit. When you eat at a restaurant, the customer and the restaurant are entering a legal binding contract. The restaurant serves and the food to the customers, and the customers pay. What do you do when you pay for goods or service and you did not receive what was advertise? I have a huge problem with greedy establishments. I always say greed always get slaughtered whether it's in reduced sales, poor Yelp reviews which has major influence of the success or failure of a business., etc., For a company to feel it is okay to steal from their customers leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. read more

So I remember when these guys first opened their location at Ranch 99, I was not impressed. But apparently the rest of Houston has embraced them so much that they even opened an ITL location. I was super excited since it was closer to the house. I came on a Thursday night. My friend and I were starving so we basically order everything off the menu. We had a couple of pounds of their crawfish, garlic butter flavor, mild spicy, it still really hot for me, but great flavor. So if you come here stick to the crawfish. We also got the gator bites po boy, the gator bites were not very meaty, too much breading, and then too much bread with the po boy, skip it. The La Garlic noodles, was awkward. It was literally just peeled crawfish, shrimp, pieces of sausage, with some of the garlic sauce they use with the crawfish on top. I hated it. The crawfish empanadas were OK, just not enough filling. The spicy lemon pepper wings were also meh. The crawfish eggrolls were another disappointing item. So why 4 stars? Because you should just come here for the crawfish. Simple enough. They are also BYOB, with no corkage fee. Get your drink on!!! And the best part of the place even better than the crawfish was the beignets. Ordered the Awesome Garlic noodles, Shrimp Po- boy and Beignets. Enjoyed the po-boy noodles were very tasty with a lot of garlic, sausage and shrimp but way too spicy for my taste and I like spicy. Had to ask for more noodles to calm down the heat. The beignets were very disappointingsoggy strips of deep fried dough with oily soup of powder sugar on the bottom and dusted with powdered sugar on top. Pretty good, but as good as a chain restaurant is. My family and I ordered 4lbs of crawfish, 1lb of bbq shrimp, 6potatoes and corns, spicy garlic wings, and crawfish pho. They were all decently good but the bbq shrimp was super salty! I enjoyed the pho but dont go here for pho only, there are better options. I tried the Crawfish Pho, and it was the real deal, as well as the crawfish empanadas.... I did notice the crawfish arriving at other tables were pretty puny, but it is still way early in the season, so they should plump up soon..... My only suggestion, spend a little more on the utensils, the cheap thin plastic cutlery feels like it came from a Barbie's playhouse set, especially the spoon that came with my Pho! Fried to a perfect crisp, these babies are approximately $1 each (orders of 6 or 12), and they are significantly larger than the wings you would find at BWW or most bar food menus. The lemon pepper flavor is amazing. As for the crawfish, it's a little pricey but otherwise standard Asian-influenced seasoning (and heavy on the garlic). We ended up getting 2 lb of garlic butter crawfish *spiciest*, yes I know it's not in-season but I was curious more so on the flavor. What did not except was the the softest/mushiest "crawfish" I've ever had in my life lol. I should have asked if it was live crawfish though so that's my fault. The flavor was also lack-luster; the spiciness was there but I couldn't taste anything other than the thick spicy paste. Also ordered the garlic noodles and an order of wings. The noodles were so disappointing especially for $12. Looks like instant noodles with minimal seasoning used for crawfish also btw but still needed like a cup of other spices to give it flavor. I have been to LA Crawfish a few times for their Boiled Seafood (Ie Crawfish, Shrimp & Blue Crab". I think their boiled options are good but there are plenty of places in Houston that do the boiled option better. This review is for their Cajun Curry which was Phenomenal!!!! The Curry had a great robust flavor and the coconut was not too overbearing. The curry had crawfish tails and sausage and there was plenty of both (Not too many and not too few). My only suggestion for the curry would be for them to offer spice levels for the curry. I tend to love my curry really spicy and I found myself having to add my own spice to get it to the level of burn that I love. I will be back to get this curry it was really good!!!!!!!!! read more

My family came here because we wanted to try out a new crawfish place. We ordered a LOT of crawfish. I think in total we ordered 8 pounds for 3 people. And we also got a few orders of their oysters. Personally, I thought the "specialty" oysters weren't that great. All the toppings masked the flavor of the oyster. Next time I would stick to ordering "traditional" oysters (which they DO serve, but it's just written in verrrry small letters on their menu). One drawback to the oyster is that some of mine had shell pieces and grit in them, but nothing terrible. We tried two flavors of the crawfish: hot and sour, cajun. We preferred the hot and sour, which I guess was surprising to the people that work there bc they said no one ever orders the hot and sour. But it's good! So try it when you go there! It tastes like it's flavored with lemongrass and other Asian spices. One thing I did not like is they didn't have a handwashing station separate from the bathroom. ANY crawfish place NEEDS that or else the door handles of the bathroom get really gross. Also, parking is pretty difficult in this small lot (especially bc most of the spaces are reserved by specific businesses). so you'll want to visit during off-peak hours for the easiest time to find parking. read more

It's unique enough to get you in the door, and good enough to make you return for multiple "I wanna try that again!" visits. Their Crawfish Pho is the main event of this place. It's not the best quality pho you can get in the Houston area, but every pho lover can appreciate what this place has to offer. There's enough crawfish in the pho (all but 1 are peeled for your convenience!) to have a tasty impact on the broth, but unfortunately, not nearly enough to balance out the soup:noodle:crawfish ratio. Good news though: you can add additional meats or seafoods to your broth for a reasonable price! Their crawfish buckets are probably the best quantity-for-your-dollar in Houston, but they're not as good in quality or freshness compared to a more specialized place like a Rajun Cajun. They don't take reservations here and have fairly limited seating, so lines can be a bit long on the weekends. They also have a sports bar-esque TV set up, with all of their TVs tuned into different live sporting games, so lines will definitely be long during football season. It does, however, work to your advantage to roll in with a smaller group. Fortunately, it's BYOB, so you're more than welcome to lug and chug a 24-pack of beer while you're waiting in line. The portion for the pho sate was really big! I was glad though because the broth was packed with flavor and just the right amount of spiciness. The noodles were cooked just right and weren't too soggy. The crawfish had good flavor and lots of garlic chunks but it wasn't really spicy even though we ordered medium spicy. I got a 24 order of wings. The flavors were Basil 5 Spice, "Cajun", "Buffalo", and Thai. Pros: The wings were fried well and had a nice crunch. They were good size wings. Cons: They offer "Cajun" and "buffalo" flavors that are in no form a traditional Cajun or buffalo flavor. If you are going to advertise traditional flavors then treat them as such. Both of the flavors were noticeably sweetened which was especially strange for the Cajun. It seemed like that all 4 flavors were oddly sweetened. I generally do not expect these flavors to be sweet. Also, I called in a order and was told it would take 15 mins. I advised I would arrive in 25 mins. I was there on time and had to wait 20 more minutes for my called in order with no apologies for my wait. read more
