La Cosecha is the highly anticipated Latin American indoor market adjacent to Union Market, D.C.'s popular food hall. La Cosecha is about the same size as Union Market, but the set up is different. For one, La Cosecha is on the bottom floor of a new apartment building. It also has the stores and restaurants on the sides with a bar and seating in the middle. Like Union Market, they have a range of stores from a pupusa stand to Panamian coffee to a home good store. Each maker has ties to Latin America. There's a small second floor with additional seating and an area for storytime for kids. The plan is to have regular events for the public to celebrate all things Latin America. Drinks and Appetizers! A few girlfriends and I came here before heading to our dinner reservation later. You can seat yourself and someone will bring you water to get started, we decided to sit outside. You have to scan a barcode on the table to see the menu and to order your entire meal or drink. This is very convenient when you're in a hurry or you just want to keep placing orders without looking for the waiter. Now on to the drinks and appetizers. We started off with two delicious wines Ramirana Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon and an order of mussels. The wine was so delicious we ordered two more glasses haha. The mussels were coated in a tomato garlic sauce with sautéed onions which was very good and it came with bread! Dip the bread into the sauce and watch it melt in your mouth. I would definitely recommend this place for a good time. Next time, I will try the entrees. read more

This market is so cool! There's multiple restaurant stands, a bar, and at least one sit down restaurant. There are plenty of chairs and tables around too. I ended up choosing Mosaico and got 2 empanadas. I got one chicken and one cheese and they were absolutely delicious. Not to mention, they were HUGE!! I ended up adding the chicken filling to the cheese empanada and it was such a power move. The shells were so deliciously golden and crunchy. I heard about La Cosecha from a friend and decided to try it out. I was amazed by the outdoor seating available in the area. There is also an open air type bar so you can order at a window from the bar inside. In this open market of order and grab a table style food, La Cosecha offers dine in seating while still being open to the common areas. The food was fancier Mexican, and delicious! The chilaquiles were my favorite. The menu and tab were both electronic, which made splitting tabs obsolete since each person orders their own items as desired. As a huge pupusa lover, I wasn't impressed. The food left more to be desired seasoning wise but if you don't seek spice and solid seasoning, you would like it. I got the pupusa of the month which was crab & shrimp, i also got the cheese pupusa and loroco with cheese. The cabbage wasn't fresh or seasoned and the sauces were also missing something i can't name. I will always support Black and brown businesses so I won't say not to give it a chance but it was underwhelming to say the least. read more

This is a wonderful Latin market with tons of options for everyone. I love the variety of vendors and foods, most of which is difficult to find in DC. I hail from Florida, so it's also nice to reconnect with Spanish-speakers and be able to brush up on my language skills! Stopped by Destino last night while I was seeking outdoor dining with a small group of friends. Immediately we were seated according to our requests and greeted with a team of extremely friendly staff! Their menu featured modern Mexican with great dishes and drinks. Our server helped us understand the menu and choose from their assortment of available items. I went with the chilaquiles and not only did the food come out quickly, but it was delish! There are tons of options of Latin, Spanish, cultural foods. I love the empanadas, sandwiches and wines from so many of the eateries. The staff is always very nice and helpful! It is a great date night spot or fun time with friends. From desert to everything I have from the restaurants here, the orders are all so flavorful, tasty and fresh. There is also shopping for groceries and authentic clothing. There is a beautiful upstairs available for you to rent a space or work upstairs. They host local events and monthly surprises as well. This is a fun, food court- ish spot for Latin American cuisine. When we went, there was live music and a couple dancing on stage. Most of the restaurants offered a "pay ahead"/ "order ahead" option using QR scanning on your phone, which I usually LOVE in these COVID times, but the entire time I was here I had no service and could not connect to the public Wi-Fi that is available. All in all I liked the ambience, the food options, the ability to order things quickly and try several different restaurants/ bars from one place. However, the seating situation and Wi-Fi/ ordering situation could be improved. Next time, I'll be sure to try the outdoor seating area, which was filled. This place is ok, it offers a good variety of latin American food. Including Peruvian, Salvadorian, Mexican and Venezuelan food. They also offer high quality chocolate as well as some Latin American art and crafts. It is a good plan to try something different in the city. The place I liked the most is a little market with meat cuts and food ingredients typical of Latin America but prices are a bit expensive (justified by the location). We tried the Salvadorian place La Casita (chicharrón and pupusa) and Venezuelan Mosaico (beef pepito), pics attached. Both dishes tend to be heavy on the stomach but very delicious. The pepito in particular had way too much sauce, I wish they have put it aside. It's a bit too fancy, I would prefer something more authentic in terms of decor and ambiance, but I guess is trying to fit a broader DC audience. There is good outdoor sitting. read more

The perfect place to grab ANY meal, from quick and easy breakfast pupusa cravings at La Casita to fine Colombian dining at El Cielo (I've seen embassy cars there from time to time, eat like a diplomat!) An increasing range of plant-based and gluten free options are available from a variety of vendors inside the market, fun classes are available here and there, and it's got a great energy and atmosphere. Love La Cosecha. I've walked by a few times, but learned about it from a friend who frequently stops by for the coffee. She highly recommended the pupusas and now that's what I get everything. They've got a great deal three pupusas for under $10. It's so much food so sometimes I stick with just two pupusas. But it's great to share if you're with a group. I will say it takes time between when you order and when the foods ready to eat, so make sure you look up the menu first so you can put in your order right away! read more

This was such a fun spot to visit. They had music outside and tables and chairs set up for folks to eat outside. All of the vendors are Latin based and everyone was open when we walked in. They have two decor/clothing vendors and the rest are food or drink based. My sis and I pursued one of the vendors and ended up getting these really cute cat mugs. We ordered food at one of the vendors for take out since we were meeting a friend to eat. There are plenty of hand sanitizer stations, and folks were social distancing, and wearing masks unless eating. I'll definitely come back and check out other restaurants. read more

My new favorite food destination in DC! They have TONS of outdoor seating and something for everyone. I am partial to the arepas, pupusas, and coffee. However, they have tons of great cocktails at Serenata and you absolutely must stop by Gran Cata wine shop. Peruvian Brothers chicken offers rotisserie chicken and frozen Pisco Sours which are amazing. Grab a cocktail or a coffee and head to a table outside to people watch, enjoy the sun, and grab a snack or two to round out your day. It is a wonderful way to be out and about safely at this time. It is also just a stones throw from Union Market, so you can walk over there and enjoy it as well. La Cosecha has had shopping to browse and treat yourself! I love this addition to union market area. There's a latin market in there with the best spanish and caribbean salami, chorizo, and cheese! It's my go to for affordable Alberinos. We've purchase over 5 cocktail boxes at serenata, they are always a win. Serenata also sells frozen empanadas and we are a fan of their buñuelos. Their ages cheese and truffles really take those delcious bread balls over the top. Lastly the coffee at the panamanian cafe (Cafe Unido) is my go to for the area! The outdoor seating is socially distance and perfect for enjoying you meal in the sun! read more

Absolutely wonderful Latin American food court with a variety of vendors, delicious food, and an incredible atmosphere. It's far less crowded (and, honestly...better quality) than the neighboring Union Market, and, despite being restricted to exclusively Latin American cuisine, features a wide diversity of food and drink. Las Gemelas Taqueria has the most wonderful mini tacos; each one is packed with flavor and bite-size, which is honestly the best possible size you can get so that you still have space to continue experiencing the many other options that La Cosecha has to offer. La Casita Pupuseria has the most deliciously creamy and rich pupusas, and they also have a dessert quesadilla (which is not at all what it sounds like -- instead of the usual tortilla and cheese, it's more like a sweet cake). Serenata has the most wonderful cocktails as well, and I was particularly a fan of their dragonfruit mojito! If you want to experience a bunch of different foods and cocktails, but don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of Union Market, I can't recommend this area enough. read more

I loved visiting La Cosecha! We went on a Saturday evening and enjoyed the live music and dancing! All the food options are inviting, I opted for Mosaico. What a good decision -- the arepas were delicious, but wowow I never tried mandocas before and they were beyond!! Also highly recommend the drinks from Serenata. Loved the art gallery upstairs too. My only qualm is I wish there was a little more seating, we ended up standing at the table in front of Serenata. I can't wait to go back to La Cosecha soon! read more

I bought fine chocolates, a big ole gourmet donut, a pretty frozen margarita garnished with edible cherry blossom flowers, and mini trio stuffed taco from mosaic. I love this concept! It is a beautiful building that is very inviting. There are a variety of food and cocktail options. The seating is open and not sectioned off for specific vendors besides the two bars. It's kind of like a food court setting, but so much nicer. Events are hosted there frequently which adds vibrancy. I was so excited to try this place after it opened up at the end of the summer near Eastern Market. Upon entering, I was a little confused about the sparse warehouse vibes of the place and it appears that people use it for events as well. There's a bar/tapas style food that's served right in the middle of the space as soon as you walk in. There are other food stands off to the side of the bar, but those weren't open when I went, so I can't say what they had. The cocktail list is the star of La Cosecha with great representation from most of Latin America and a lot of cool and unique drinks that give a good snapshot of certain countries. The small plates were fantastic and I got about 3 to share. I wasn't completely full, but it was really delicious food. The cheese bread was amazing and would recommend you try that. Looking forward to trying this place out again soon! read more
