Not an inviting place, or as friendly as the Damen location. Does not have service level of other coffee spots in Chicago- and there are many! More of a take- out place. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Chicago! While there's usually a long line on weekends, they make your drinks very quickly. I absolutely love the draft latte, especially with the syrup they provide on the counter--it's SO good. Their seasonal pumpkin chai is also a current favorite of mine. La Colombe has never disappointed me! read more

The coffee is so strong i updated my review :) Its a absolute pleasure to be at this wonderful oasis of a coffee shop. Located in a new building that some of the units cost 1,500,000 dollars; I guess its not surprising that most of the coffee is over $4.01 The staff is very nice. They let my friend who is anti social park his bike inside while he talked loudly. The lattes are delish like out of this world. Im wondering if there is room to make more space so that more people can be inside at once. I am not an architect but still wonder if its possible read more

This is my all time favorite place for coffee! It's sooooo smooth, frothy, and delicious! Very consistent as well. Of course the pricing is quite expensive for a coffee, however once you try it you will know it's worth it! read more

Fast and efficient coffee spot. The one downside to this is that if there's a line, you won't be able to see the menu until right before your turn to order so you might be rushed to make a decision. The coffee is great and there are plenty of pastry and miscellaneous snack options. The space is small but there are some seating options. Bathroom inside read more

Peppermint cardomom tea is delicious. The canele, I had not had this before so I had to try it. It is very good. It's caramelized on the outside with a custard center and slightly sweet. It was a nice surprise. The staff is knowledge about the products and friendly. Expect a line if going during the weekend but the line moves quickly. There isn't much of an indoor area, so don't expect to hangout here. read more

I've been hooked on my NESPRESSO coffee maker for over ten years! Really, nothing can take its place. When I travel (like now) I obviously don't pack it and haul it around with me. I must relegate myself to Starbucks or some reasonable facsimile. I don't like this option, but what am I to do? While in Chicago, this is not even a little problem; I've got Colombe Coffee across the street from where I stay on the Gold Coast. Their brewed coffee is just so damn good. It's rich and dark and has this roasty flavor. Served piping hot, I get mine with oat milk and a squirt of agave. It's totally my best way to start the day. In fact, when I'm sipping a cup of Colombe coffee, I don't give my "at home" Nespresso coffee a second thought. The people working there are very nice and professional. It's my home away from home coffee house.....period! read more

3.5 stars. Customer service here is 5 stars by itself. They're clearly a great team, super quick with the line constantly running out the door. The food and coffee aren't mindblowing (got an Oat Milk Latte & Chocolate Hazelnut Muffin) but it was cool to experience the brick and mortar version of a canned coffee I always buy. The muffin was a little too sweet and too much. Couldn't finish it. Still a decent way to start the day. read more

They really have the pandemic order technique down to a science. Awesome customer service and an awesome dirty oatmeal chai. Thank you! read more

Cute & trendy cafe with baristas who love their jobs. The cashier was a cheerful girl who knew her coffee. I gave their Nitro cold brew + oat milk a try my first time here, and it ended up being my go-to drink the rest of my trip. I was here during Pride and the shop was ready with rainbow themed cups for the occasion. It definitely made my morning coffee run much more fun. As for the food and pastries, there were 0 vegan options which was a bit of a bummer but there were plenty of other neighboring businesses that had options. I'll definitely be coming back my next trip to Chicago! read more

I love this place so much. Such good drinks on tap and chai is so flavorful. Always really friendly as well. They could sell me anything at this point and I would probably be interested. read more

I get e-mail correspondence from "La Colombe Coffee" since I'm a fan of their draft coffee. When I was doing my morning routine, I came across one of the e-mails and found out that new "Oak Milk Draft Latte" was introduced and available in most of the locations. I happened to stop by the one in Gold Coast and ordered this new product. I'm not lactose-intolerant and have tried all of their draft lattes. The dairy-free oak milk draft latte was very smooth and met my expectation. The barista was kind enough to ask me if I wanted it with or without ice. This particular location is quite tiny. I saw only four (4) tables inside. They've got a couple of outdoor benches, but there are parks and shopping destinations nearby so it's appreciate to have my coffee to-go. Hubby has more opportunities to be out and about, and I will definitely share the news with him so that he can also give it a try. In addition, the CTA Clark/Division Red Line station is close by. I walked east on Division until I met State, then headed south until I saw Elm. It's next to "Bluemercury," a beauty supply store. It took me less then ten (10) minutes on foot. read more

It's hard to have one favorite coffee shop, living so close to Old Town, but this one is it. The service is awesome, they are very patient at explaining different drips and drafts. My favorite is their draft latte(hot), the reason I like it is because it has the right amount of sweetness. The Iced one is slightly sweeter, but still wonderful. I only had their drip coffee once, but it was so good I highly recommend it. Chocolate croissants are very delicious as well. Expect a lot of people(families with kids) on weekend mornings. read more

I love coffee. I love non-big chain coffee shops. I obviously loved La Colombe based on those two criteria. Was staying down the street for work, and popped in here twice. Service was friendly, establishment clean and the coffee aromatic and delicious. I ordered unsweetened Mocha's both times with extra shots of espresso and they were so very tasty. The pastries looked divine on my first visit, so when I came back I ordered a croissant. Seriously scrumptious. La Colombe for the win. read more

I've had many La Colombe iced draft lattes in SoCal but never tried their regular hot lattes. Glad to have found a La Colombe in Chicago. Workers were friendly, quick, and most importantly, the lattes were delicious! read more

Delicious coffee!!! They keep their menu pretty simple also no syrups are available. It's not posted up on the wall or anything but you can find a copy of it right in front of the register! The lattes also have beautiful latte art on them. Recently I started purchasing coffee beans from here as well! Great place to study as well. However, one thing to note is that they only have one table that has access to an outlet. read more

What I like most about this La Colombe coffee shop is that it is social. Too many times these days you walk into a coffee shop where people are plugged into their headphones or are laser focused on their laptops--giving off that 'I-just-walked-into-a-library' feel. Here you will find people chatting at the "bar" with each other or with the coffee staff...giving off a totally chill and open vibe. For the coffee, I have had the cold brew from the tap or just regular cup of joe. Both are fine in taste and without the bitterness that's usually akin to a Starbucks blend. Draft cold brews are also sold in cans, which are a hit for only $3.00. I can drink one of those at anytime of the day and still make it to sleep at a reasonable hour. But if you're looking to be more amped, try the coffee sold in the blue can, Pure Black. read more

I stopped in with a friend for a quick caffeinated beverage before driving her to the airport. As always it was wonderful. The room is small but never feels too crowded. The big floor to ceiling street front windows allow a ton of natural light in. They are also great for people watching from the beautiful rounded bar. Simple in design with a lovely vase of flowers, it's easy to relax and enjoy all of the beverages and pastries they offer. I have been loving oat milk and happily I discovered they have it. Yay me! I don't care for almond milk so needless to say I was a happy girl. My simple latte was de-lish! The staff is ALWAYS amazing. Each time I visit, I am always assisted in a warm and friendly manner. They make suggestions that are spot on. I must say I hold this coffee spot in high regard for consistent quality, aesthetics and service. Thank you!!! read more

Ordered the dirty chai and it was probably the best one I've ever had! I liked how they don't put the lid on for you and put it to the side with a stir stick instead. Very friendly baristas and cool ambiance read more

A very efficient and friendly coffee bar. I liked the taste of the plain espresso shot as well as the iced coffee. There is oat milk on the bar that you can add into your iced coffee. I liked how they served the lids on plates on the coffee bar so you could add milk if desired and then put your own lid on. The line was kinda long at times but moved fast. There are a few inside tables along the window and 2 benches outsides. The almond croissant was disappointing - no almond taste in my opinion. But the, rather large, granola bar was delicious - but a little softer than I expected. read more

This is my FAVORITE coffee shop in the city. I have been here quite a few times since moving to the city and the service is always friendly, the coffee is always great, and the experience is always memorable. Whenever I am in the area, I make it a point to stop by. The store is situated near a part of Gold Coast where there are plenty of shopping options, so grabbing a cup to go is usually my move. Although, there are plenty of spots to read, study, or chat! Their Draft Lattes are a classic and they always seem to have something to try or test and the employees are super helpful in helping you find the perfect coffee for you. This place is great for any occasion and you really can't go wrong with giving anything they have a shot! read more

Loved it! The line was out the door, but from other reviews I knew it would move quickly. I got a cereal milk latte which was really good. It could have used a little more coffee though. Person I was with got a drip. It was a blend of beans and they really enjoyed it. I got my drink to go, so I can't really speak to the ambiance. It did look nice inside. I recommend and would definitely go back. read more

Ugh!! And I thought La Colombe couldn't get better but then they released the Vanilla Oat Draft Latte - already my new favorite order! Tastes exactly like vanilla ice cream. So smooth and creamy, perfect amount of sweetness. I've tried it by itself as well as in a Vanilla Oat Black & Tan. I prefer it in the OBT because the cold brew cuts the sweetness a bit (I like my coffee dark and strong) - but if you normally order lattes/like something creamy and sweet, plain will be perfect for you. Please open an SF location! read more

My only experience of la Colombe coffee had been from the refrigerated cans of coffee drinks up until today. I had high hopes for the real deal because I have always loved the canned drinks. This did not disappoint! My barista was so friendly and offered for my friend and I to sample multiple drinks in order to make our final decision. I learned that it's a "company policy" that la Colombe store locations cannot serve flavored sweeteners which sorta worried me as I typically like a little flavor! After sampling, I decided on the oat milk draft latte and I've been dreaming of it ever since. It was phenomenal. A little colder than room temp, slightly naturally sweet, and so so smooth!! Drinking this in the store was sooo much better than the canned drinks, which are also great! read more

Great coffee shop in the Gold Coast. The shop is small in size but the coffee in Big in taste. With only for tables and a couple bar tops it's hard to find a seat because this shop is very popular with the locals of Gold Coast. It's nice to have a true coffee shop in the neighborhood that brews a flavor filled cup of coffee. it's a trendy interior with floor to ceiling windows surrounding the shop so it's a great spot to people watch and my favorite dog watch read more

Our waiter at dinner recommended this establishment and glad he did. The actual coffee flavor is very good, not bitter and the cost for an iced mocha latte was $4.75 not bad. The baristas were both very nice and explained everything to me prior to ordering. Please note they use a unsweetened dark chocolate so if you like it sweet they have simple syrup and every other kind of sugar you can imagine. Will be back read more

Ahh yes, La Colombe. In a weird way, this felt like a right of passage for someone who considers themselves a Chicago based coffee aficionado. There's a reason people talk about this place non-stop, but I'll share my additional thoughts: Coffee - Good. Honestly, really good. They have a somewhat simple menu, and I have yet to try something off of it that isn't good. If you are new to this place, you can't go wrong with a draft latte. Personal preference is to get it with no ice, because it really makes the drink taste even more smooth than it already is :) Price - Not great, but I've learned that I just have to deal with that. It's comparable to a lot of boutique coffee stores, so I can't knock them too much. Environment/Ambiance - This location is not somewhere I would ever go to if I were looking to sit down. It isn't very spacious, and it can get pretty claustrophobic, even just while waiting for your coffee. I am a sucker for a place where you can meet with friends or sit and work for a while, and this just doesn't fit that profile. There are some seats, but not enough for my liking. Service - Great. Knowledgeable baristas, patient while you figure out the menu, and will give recommendations if you give your preferences. I'll continue to go here because I enjoy the coffee, but it just will never earn a full 5 star rating from me. Perhaps a different location :) read more

I have three Starbucks in three different directions within a block of my house. Nothing against Starbucks but it's nice to have another option without having to walk an extra 1/2 block for coffee!! It's small, more resembling an Italian coffee house in size and design, with a stand up bar where you can go in Italian style, stand at the bar, get your bump and keep moving! Friendly staff and solid coffee. I'll be bringing my real Italian friends from Italy in next month for an official evaluation of the the expression coffee and delivery system, but it looks and taste read more

This is a nice coffee shop to stop get your pastry pay and leave. The staff is helpful and efficient . The pastries are excellent. The last time I was there I noted a sign that no dogs are allowed even if you carry them . So I was disappointed to learn that my pup in arms is no longer welcomed. I must admit that living in Manhattan where dogs are usually welcome, malls , stores and outside restaurants is hard to give up. I am not yet quite getting with the Chicago culture. read more

If you want the best coffee in the area, make sure to go here. I think they have legit the best cold brew ever. You have to get there early or after the rush or else there will be a line. That's the only con, but tbh I don't even know if that can be a con since this place will just blow your socks off. Oh...and they have free water on the opposite side of the store...you're welcome. read more

I was unhappy with how a barista treated us here. We ordered, paid, and sat down. No one asked us for vax cards. Then the barista came over and asked for vax cards which I started to pull up on my phone. Then she comes back and says she checked the other people's vax cards first (these people were still at the register) so we had to leave our table. How does it make any sense to ask customers who have already paid to leave when she is the one who forgot to ask for our vax cards? She needs better training on how to deal with customers. I wasn't about to pull a Karen and ask for the manager who was manning the cash register with 12 people on line. Disappointing service. read more
