    3 course combo
    Mary D.

Such a fun & delightful option for a midday meal! Tried the 3 course combo-French onion soup ( do not miss the fresh cheese & huge croutons), Caesar salad & turkey sandwich. All were fresh & delicious. Hard to walk past the dessert case on the way out so picked up strawberry fruit tarts as well. Cafeteria style pick up & then tables are in 3 rooms- the rear small room has a fireplace to enjoy as well. Check it out! Great option!!!

For me, Le Chat always delivers as a breakfast or lunch option. Unpopular opinion in my friend group, but I'm not a "full plate" breakfast eater. I prefer a coffee and a carbohydrate source. So I love the cafe au lait and a croissant from here. Since it's a European bakery, the pastries run a little less sweet than at an American style bakery. I like this, but FYI. My most recent visit, we just did coffees and croissants as a lite breakfast before my friend caught a flight. She is not local, so she was charmed. I found it as enjoyable as always. I like the dark wood, wooden tables vibe! I loved my chocolate croissant and cafe au lait with vanilla. They serve lattes in big latte bowls with no handles, so use caution when the thing first comes out! This visit, I did not have lunch, but their Casear salad and brikette are my favorite at lunch time. I enjoy the cafeteria style service, it's laid back and, if you're there off hours, pretty relaxed. Le Chat is a Columbus fav, so during busy hours it's, well, pretty busy!

In a place known for its pastry game, we opted to go the brunch/lunch route for a recent dine-in experience. Immediately upon walking in, you see the breads, cakes and sweets that make you want to gain 15 pounds at once. Stepping further into the dining room, the place feels classic and intimate, similar to lodge. You order your food in essentially a cafeteria lunch line. The benefit is that you can see the beautiful hot dishes waiting to be added to your tray The poutine came out hot. Rather than a gravy base, the frites were covered in a bolognese sauce and topped with Swiss cheese. Unique - yes. But overall it tasted like a dish less than the sun of its parts. My wife went for the Eggs Benedict which I sampled. Four star worthy but the little side salad didn't have any dressing and really could have been omitted. I would visit again but likely stick to their popular items.

Great selection and fresh country fare . Employees speak French and all of the food offerings are so delicious.

What I would have expected for the area. Had the lunch combo, soup, salad and sandwich . Caesar salad was wonderful. The lobster bisque was the most delicious I have ever had. The Brie on my sandwich was amazing. Chocolate eclair for dessert was to die for. Very small restaurant and super crowded. I loved it though.

It's very different food for what I'm used to for sure. They can definitely get pricey also. The staff was very friendly and I really appreciated how fast they served our large group.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear why this institution has remained at the top of the city's dining scene for half a century. My partner began with the Escargot and Shiitake Marble Veal Mousse with parsley garlic butter sauce, while I enjoyed the exceptional Mussel Soup with leek chiffonade, saffron cream, and Chablis. Both starters were beautifully prepared and set the tone for the evening. For our second course, my partner selected the Roasted Lake Erie Walleye with dill Chablis sauce, and I chose the Sautéed Florida Red Snapper with Choron vin blanc sauce. Both dishes showcased impeccable technique, fresh ingredients, and elegant presentation. Our third course continued to impress. The Black Truffle Duxelle Stuffed Rabbit Loin with Dijonnaise sauce was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed, while my Pan-Seared Prime New York Strip Steak with cardamom sauce was cooked flawlessly and absolutely outstanding. We shared the Black Forest Tart with mascarpone chantilly and cherry gel for dessert. The flavors were wonderful, though the tart crust was a bit firmer than expected, making it somewhat difficult to enjoy with only a spoon. Service was polished and professional throughout the evening. Although the restaurant had run out of the bottle of wine we initially selected, the sommelier recommended a comparable bottle from the same AVA that was slightly more expensive and graciously adjusted the price to match our original selection. This was a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflects The Refectory's commitment to hospitality. Our only minor disappointment was the seating location. The booth where we were placed was tucked away from the main dining room and felt a bit tight, making it somewhat less comfortable than we would have preferred. While the secluded setting had its charm, a table or a more spacious booth in the main dining area would have enhanced the overall experience. Overall, it was another memorable dining experience. Exceptional cuisine, refined service, and an atmosphere that continues to set the standard for fine dining in Columbus. It's easy to understand why The Refectory has earned its stellar reputation and why it has thrived for 50 years. Highly recommended and well deserving of its legendary status.

Opened my mind to bubbly, learned a lot and met some cool people. Most recently stopped in for wine Wednesday. Grabbed a smashburger, tiny tini (the olive) and some wine. Smashburger- good. The sauce was really tangy/pickley added ketchup to balance it out for my liking. Fries fire! Cocktail-The olive- not my thing, was trying something new since I'm coming around to olives, but no. Speaking objectively it felt like it was well balanced but I could still taste too much of the olive food my preference. I'm late writing this and they now have a dinner and new drink menu, so I'm overdue for a visit back :). Super cute.  Amazing customer service. Special shoutout to Jeff, Syn? And Marco who took care of us in some capacity. Seemed pretty cool inside, waitress filled our waters and said she'd be back.. although when she came, it was only to tell us a different waiter was going to take our table. We waited, and waited, drank all our water and waited some more.. finally, the waiter came to take our drink order and said he'd be back with some more water. We waited, and waited, finally the drinks came from the bar, but must've been a water shortage because he never filled our waters again until we asked for the check, even though he mentioned getting us water several times throughout the dinner. kinda bizarre, agl. Brie fondue was the highlight of the meal. Filet was cut open and mangled, which is odd given how rare it was, maybe because it was tough as beef jerky, idk - again, kinda bizarre. (Wife's filet looked great, she really enjoyed it, not sure why there was such a vast inconsistency..?) Other oddity, my mashed potatoes were bloody red before I even cut into the steak - what the heck was going on in the kitchen at the keep? I question if someone sent this dish back to the kitchen because the filet was undercooked and they chose to re-fire and serve it to me?? Bizarre. I might've said something to our waiter, if he was ever to be found..? Dessert was good. Overall, thankful for the good company because The Keep was a quite a forgettable dining experience.
