I've always wanted to go to La Caverna and it did not disappoint! It's such a cool concept. I really enjoyed the cave like atmosphere. It was very impressive. The food was also delicious! We loved the steak, the nachos, and the shrimp quesadillas. They also have the best tres leches we've ever had and you can't go wrong with churros dipped in caramel. Around 10:30/11pm they have a DJ. We went on a Friday night. Also, the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

My friends and I stopped in for Taco Tuesday during happy hour. The spot is downstairs with a lounge vibe, and my friend mentioned it turns into a club at night... Taco Tuesday specials were $3 each for beef, chicken, or veggie. Naturally, I tried all three. Honestly, the veggie taco with mushrooms was the only one that was somewhat decent. The others were dry and bland no sauce, dressing, or flavor was present... which was pretty disappointing. I also ordered the fried calamari from the regular menu, which was good, but not enough to make up for the tacos. The margarita was another letdown, weak and lacking alcohol. Would I recommend this place or come back? Unfortunately, no.

La Caverna is exactly what it sounds like - a cave. A literal, glowing, underground cave where bass echoes off the faux-stone walls and everyone is sweating out their overpriced tequila shots under glowing stalactites. It's dark, it's loud, and it's humid enough to make you question your life choices... and then double down on them. This is not the place for subtle vibes. This is where you descend into your weekend and emerge with blurry photos and mysterious bruises. And in that chaos, there it was... a beacon of hope: cold water. No bartenders. No gatekeeping. Just a humble stack of plastic cups and an unbothered dispenser. I filled my cup. I sipped. And in that moment, I understood peace. 3.5/5.

Me and my friend were in need of a spot to get taco's that was nice and had a chill vibe. While in the LES we stumbled upon this gem! I'm so glad we did. It has a very dimly lit vibe and literally looks like a cave which I love. Food: 3.8/5 the food was delicious but the portions were really small and priced kinda high. Drinks were decent and strong. I ordered a classic margarita. Service: 3/5 we waited for a bit of time to be serviced as the bartenders were switching out and they just seemed all over the place. Ambiance: 4/5 loved the whole demographic the cave like vibe was nice. They had ample seating , tv's playing sports and good music. The vibe was very nice and I'd definitely return again.

La Caverna is a subterranean restaurant on the Lower East Side. Stairs are required to access the restaurant and it is not ADA accessible. The decor is cool and the main draw of coming here. Everything else is pretty average. The best dish were the nachos, but they serve you like 10 chips total on the dish. I wish the nachos were served like true nacho appetizers, piled high. The quesadilla, guacamole, elote etc were good but nothing special. I had the Altamira drink and it was again, good but forgettable. My friends had the margarita tower which is pretty big and gets you 7-8 glasses. Service was generally ok and attentive. The bathrooms are very tiny and could use a thorough cleaning. I actually think the whole restaurant could use a cleaning. Every single surface was sticky. The tables were sticky and the floors were sticky. It was gross. I don't think I'd come back but I am glad I tried it.

Located in the Lower east side, this hidden place is quite a gem. Surprised at the reviews but had a great time. Hostess checked up us on the regular. Food was good especially the tacos which was very different. Ambiance was very chill; loved the decor. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

The nachos were not nachos by any means. Just a super dry and hard flatbread chip in 4 pieces with light toppings. Not better by flavor either. The drink was average. Service was okay but nothing remarkable. Ambiance is what you'd really come here for because the decor is cool and cave like. Otherwise would not come back again

I thought i missed the place when I first got to the spot. The place is super vibey and chill for a big group or just 2 friends. You can hear each other talk which I appreciate. Dont wanna scream. I love how they stuck to the cave theme! Food was great! Not too salty like some places. My faves were the skirt steak and the corn! Service was great as well!

The vibes in here were great, especially if ur going out with friends to drink it looks cool inside. The food tasted ok I mean u get what u pay for not the best tasting food but it's pretty cheap so I'm not complaining. And the servers were all very kind!In all i recommend!

We really enjoyed our dinner here! The food menu was a bit limited, but what we ordered came out quickly and was delish. The quesadilla was truly one of the best I've ever had, and the guac was also 10/10. We loved the ambiance-- so unique-- and we had a really chill, lovely meal for a great price. Highly recommend for a date night or meal with friends!

The ambiance was so pretty. The servers were attractive. The drinks were so good. I had the steak churrasco it was delicious. 10 out of 10. Chicken quesadillas wasn't that good. That was 7 out of 10.

I never knew this venue existed until a private Halloween event was hosted here. Reminds me of the mother ship in San Diego. The staff were friendly, the catered food was delicious, and tasty drinks. With external dj, the sound system was balanced. The catered food was delicious. I can't say which was my least favorite because I enjoyed the food so much, I will return for the actual restaurant experience. The guacamole was seasoned, the taco options between chicken and veggie had so many layers of flavor with color. The house chips were fresh and the fries served in Jack o lantern cups were just too good. I was impressed. The kitchen staff did well to accommodate a crowd of 40-60 guest. The bar staff were amazing, I wish they accepted digital tips because I couldn't carry cash due to costume theme event. However the non alcoholic drinks were decent. They did have open bar and other guest enjoyed the ambience. The decor in general is cave themed with prehistoric aesthetic. You'll see paintings and carvings including detailed cave experience. There's running water like small fountains throughout the venue. There's dining table layout during business hours. Most chairs and tables were moved for our event. Restrooms are adjacent to kitchen. Whether you want to book this lounge for private event or casual dining, go explore La caverna.

Great food, the nachos were unreal, skirt steak cooked perfect. We did the $95 price fixe and our server G was attentive and took great care of us and brought out plenty of premium drinks. Will be back

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Would definitely recommend to visit if you like gothic stuff and tiki bars.

Serious attitude here. The cocktails were very tasty but the service and vibe were so off-putting,…read moreI will never go back. I made a reservation in person more than 24 hours in advance. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.

Dim lighting, plush seating, rich wood + wallpaper details, and that lounge-library vibe make the place feel like a secret hideout right in the middle of Midtown. It's moody, cozy, and effortlessly intimate -- perfect for a date night, a chill catch-up, or just a night out with good drinks. Nice service, too! However: be ready for the price tag. The cocktails are absolutely beautiful -- well crafted, creative, and flavorful -- but each one will remind you that you're not exactly paying dive-bar prices. It's worthwhile, but the "overpriced drinks" vibe absolutely hits. That said: the interior design and ambience are amazing. The mix of antique-meets-modern decor, low lighting, and comfy couches gives you that classic speakeasy romance. If you appreciate aesthetics and vibe over cheap drinks -- this is your spot.
