Amazing food, wonderful staff, and very clean restaurant! Food came out so fast and was so yummy!

I've been wanting to come to this place for a while now. It had a viral moment a few years ago and then I've seen a resurgence as of late. That's right I've been INFLUENCED l! We didn't have dinner planned one night, so I suggested we try it out. Upon entering there was a bar that sat about 4-5. The interior is a little narrow with about 6 or 7 tables. There was a larger patio area in the back that had ample seating. We were really wanting to get home because we had been out all day. Our take out order was hot as the devil's ass. No lie we got home which was about a 12 minute drive and it was still hot. We ordered the steak torta, the Catrina burrito, fajitas, chicken millenesa, calamari. There were no complaints from anyone. My Catrina burrito was covered in mole sauce and it was different but delicious. The dipping sauce with the calamari was good and the shrimp in the fajitas had an amazing garlic sauce. I'll definitely try coming back while the patio is open to try their drinks and all you can eat taco deal. read more

This is a cute Mexican spot in West Logan. My husband brought me here for a date night and the food and atmosphere was great. I liked the Dios de los muertos inspired painting that were on the walls. My husband got a classic margarita and really enjoyed it and I got the horchata which was very good and not to sweet. He got a asada and a carnitas taco and I got the fried fish with a garlic sauce. The portions were big and the fish was seasoned very well. Service was quick and they have nice and sturdy to go containers. Ate here after going to the balloon museum. Food and atmosphere were great. Ordered quesabirria that was delicious and super filling. Horchata was different and had a banana taste. Customer service was great until the end. We weren't sure if our waitress would come back with the check, so we just sat there for at least 15 minutes before getting up to go back inside. The food was pretty tasty. I had the chicken enchiladas with salsa Verde. It was a nice tasting sauce with the right amount of kick. Service was pretty decent. The reason for the four stars is because checking out was weird. Personally, I don't like when businesses try to charge you additional for using a credit card. 4% is pretty high. What's next,!? Charging customers a surcharge for the light bill? It's just a cost of doing business. Also, their suggested tip amounts are not based on the subtotal of the food, it's based on the total amount including tax and surcharges. In what world would 18% of $65 would be $20? Check your receipts. Otherwise food is good. Not sure if I would return. read more

Delicious, authentic, fresh Mexican food, doesn't get better than this! The orange and green salsas were both full of spice and flavor, the complimentary tortilla chips were made fresh in house. Both the shrimp and fish tacos were piping hot and seasoned perfectly, with a large slap of avocado and grilled onion and tomato. I was accused of dine and dashing today from Lilia. This is my neighborhood restaurant that I supported for about a decade, and Lilia accused ME of not paying my bill when I came to pick up my order today. I am beyond distraught. I asked her to please provide me that date so that I could check my bank account to show her the transaction, and she said she forgot. She said it was "about three weeks ago." I told her I have a transaction on Thursday, May 14, and she said it wasn't the date. This confused me as she had JUST told me she didn't remember the date. I then asked her to please show me the order sheet or order ticket -- something to prove her accusations, and she said she didn't have anything. She said she and her coworker paid for us and insinuated that she wanted us to pay them back. I told her I clearly remembered that I paid. I then asked to speak to the owner to review the security footage, and she wouldn't provide his number nor did she ask to take down my info. I am deeply angry, offended, and distraught that a business I've been supporting for about a decade would accuse me of this, especially with such a nasty tone. I was a loyal customer. This place is right by the balloon museum on Diversey & Pulaski. Small dark place with large windows with excellent service. Full bar. We came with our 2 granddaughters and we were quickly seated at the back of the dining room. Food came out quickly. The Cecilia taco was great! As were the al pastor and camaron. Corn tortillas tasted homemade. Guac was good, as were the (lightly salted) chips. Jarritos and horchata were good. We will come back when we are in the area, try it! read more

Our family ordered a Bottomless mimosa, we were asked how many glasses we needed. We asked for 3, the bottomless mimosa was $25 It NEVER said that it was $25 per person for the bottomless mimosa, and when our family asked The "manager" came, gave us mean attitude when we were just trying to understand why there wasn't transparency about the bill and how the bottomless mimosa would work when it came to multiple people. He then came back to take off the charge (when we didn't even ask for that) and told us "well it's not a buffet" Everything was fine before that, but that was extremely rude. We didn't have problem with paying at ALL. It was just the non-transparency. If we knew that it was per person, we wouldn't have ordered. My wife and I have been coming here for a while now and I finally decided to write a review. Food 9.3/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 8/10 (currently going through a small remodel but looks great so far.) We tried the Mussels for the first time. The presentation was lovely. I must say their take on the white sauce was amazing, not too sweet but sweet enough to balance the heat. The mussels were cooked to perfection in my opinion. My wife ordered the taco fish dinner. 3 fish tacos with cilantro, onions and avocado. Yellow rice and refried beans with cheese. Before I could snag a photo my wife was basically half way done and this should speak for the quality of the food I went basic. 2 steak tacos and 2 al pastor tacos. The steak tacos as always as full as they can make them and succulent. The Al Pastor tacos were definitely the star of the plate. Cooked to perfection with the pineapples mixed in gave these tacos a sweet and tangy flavor along with the tenderness of the meat making them a must in my opinion. For desert we had the caramel stuffed churros. My wife loves churros, I on the other hand am not a big fan due to past experiences also not a fan of caramel. After this I can safely say I will more than likely order churros for desert here. The churros were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The caramel was a wonderful addition. Not too sweet not too sticky. The churros came with a side of strawberries and whipped cream. Combining these components took the churros to another level. All in all please come and eat here. I visited this restaurant with a group of 6 friends and we were seated right away and the staff was very welcoming and quick serviced. The drink options are pretty extensive and a good mix of different variety. It has a patio for big groups with good ambiance. The food was amazing, my sister and I had the Cecina Dinner Plate and was a good portion, maybe a little big for some people, but it was not disappointing at all. The rest of our group had a variety of the tacos and were absolutely delicious with a very nice presentation just like on the pictures. I had La Catrina drink and will definitely be my drink of choice when visiting again. The staff was very friendly and attentive, quick with service and randomly asking if nothing else was needed through out the service. We had the pleasure of meeting Executive Chef David Zavaleta servicing our table and just a great time with some good short conversation exchanges, getting to know him, and sharing delicious shots leading to an amazing set of desserts that he prepared for us. I must say, I've been to a good share of restaurants on all scales of recommendation's and price wise. This place takes the cake for me, the hospitality, the fast service, the reasonable prices and the cherry on top with top service from Chef Zavaleta who we experience his art for food reminding me of my grandmother's home state cooking. Came here with my friend for their Happy Hour which was pretty nice. Walking in you are greeted by the hostess and seated right away ( we had reservations). It is really small in there but it's a cite corner mexican spot. The lime margs were $5 for HH which is an amazing price! They were tasty and I definitely would've drunk more if my friend was in that mood haha. The guy there actually gave us TWO complimentary shots! If you ever wanted to have solid Mexican food and enjoy happy hour Tuesday to Thursday, this is the spot for you. The taco birria was so appetizing and this was the first time I had garbanzos in the mix. There was an abundance of meat in it too and overall the portions for this restaurant were very impressive for what you are paying and they don't short you on the quality either. The place is very small and cozy.. literally only about 8 tables. Husband and I waited around 45 minutes to be seated since we did go on a Saturday evening, it was full. I could tell the waitress felt bad that we were waiting for so long. Once seated we were attended very quickly and honestly expected to wait longer for the food but food came out pretty quick and the chef himself brought the food out to us and had a very nice/funny personality. As far as food goes, ALL their food is very presentable which I love.. I got the quesabirria plate which honestly was decent. Not the best quesabirria I've had & still looking for a spot here in a Chicago, coming from Dallas they have my heart on the quesabirria. Also, they add "maíz" to the consomé and that definitely gives it a weird flavor and the consomé in general was lacking. Horchata was REALLY good. Definitely recommend getting it! My son got a cheeseburger and fries which honestly was really good (better than the quesabirria personally) I am not including a picture just cause he is in it, but kids portions are good Now, if it wasn't for the Al Pastor Burrito, I would have not tried this place again and probably have given it 3 stars but let me tell you, this burrito was AMAZIINGGG. The food was fresh and tasty- for the fish and tripa taco I had to add lemon and the salsa but that lengua was perfect! It didn't need anything Definitely my fav!
