As a first time visitor to Pine Arizona, we noticed this old but quaint house hidden behind a white fence with some green foliage. I was excited to see "La Casa Randall" stating a Mexican cuisine restaurant We anxiously awaited for the evening to try out this restaurant, to which we were extremely delighted with not only the quality of food, but the kindness and the love of cooking from the wonderful owner and staff! Upon arriving we were kindly and professionally greeted. We were then asked if we had reservations in this case we did not. There were no issues and the staff was very eager to seat us at one of their rustic style tables. The Randall House in Pine, Arizona is a staple of history for this quaint town. Having been frequent visitors when it was a breakfast spot, I was sad to see it go, but wanted to give the new updated Mexican restaurant a good try. The decor is as it always was, simple and elegant. Have been a few times since they opened and have sat indoors and outdoors. I know it mentioned reservations required, but that is no longer the case. They also now have their liquor license, so you can enjoy a beverage with your meal. I usually am fond of tamales, but this last time I opted for the chicken sopes. They are divine! The best way to describe them is tostadas, but on a fried green corn base. Anytime I can have green corn, that is what I choose. I told them I will wait for their green corn tamale because I know it will burst with flavor. The desserts are a huge favorite from the grape pie, buttermilk pie, and flan. They ran out of the chocolate flan, so I am already looking forward to trying that on our next visit. Everyone was friendly, they would come by and talk. Spent a good deal of time with our waitress getting to know her. They are extremely family oriented which is important to us. It is really worth anyone's time around the area or even take a fun jaunt to get away from the valley to escape to this delicious retreat. I came here once during a staycation up in Strawberry/Pine area. I had passed this place numerous times and decided to finally try it for breakfast one morning. While it is a really cute spot and has nice indoor/outdoor seating available plus a small bakery counter, unfortunately the food/flavor didn't quite deliver, but I would still recommend checking it out just for the atmosphere, service, and supporting local. When I went, I sat on the front porch and ordered a hot chocolate and a really simple traditional breakfast of fried eggs and sausage patties plus a side of pancakes. Hot chocolate is basically impossible to mess up, it was tasty and warmed me up! The eggs and sausage were pretty standard, not bad but nothing spectacular, and the pancakes were a bit dry, but nothing that a little butter and syrup couldn't fix/mask. My waitress was friendly and prompt and I still enjoyed my overall experience here; I may try some new places before returning, but if you are looking for a cute, quick, reasonably priced bite to start your day, this spot will get the job done. read more

This was my first visit after visiting Pine many times. I am sad to learn that it will be closing in January of 2023. Came w a friend and we both enjoyed a delightful brunch. Their specials were located on a board as you enter. The person I was with had the omelette special. I had the breakfast sammie with a croissant, ham, eggs and swiss. The croissant was warm and the fillings were cooked to perfection. The charm of the historic house was a nice way to spend a weekend brunch. We love this place, the staff is always so nice and friendly! I went in looking for homemade strawberry soda- which the previous restaurant offered- and was informed they do not sell that but the gentleman did offer me strawberry Fanta in lieu. I kindly declined but took him up on his offer of a slice of their "Grape Pie". Never have I heard of this type of pie and I've been a pastry chef for 9 years! The pie was absolutely scrumptious, a flakey and butter crust, with some style of cream atop the crust, layered with fresh green grape halves topped with, I believe, a chantilly cream and coconut flakes. It's a small, local business that has been turning out amazing food for decades. The croissant sandwiches are so good, the quiche is delicious, pancakes are lovely and I've never had a better pie. We enjoyed both entrees, the chicken enchiladas were flavorful with tender and juicy chicken meat wrapped in delicate corn tortillas but the poblano sauce took them above any expectations! The Chile en Nogada was poetry on a plate, the savory beef with the sweet dried fruit was delicious and the play of the crunchy nuts and the silky creamy sauce was heavenly! I had a nice breakfast here at the Randall House when I was staying in Pine one night. They have a few rooms inside the house that they seat you in or you can dine outdoors. The room I was in reminded me of a classroom. It had games, arts, crafts, and some toys that I haven't seen since I was a kid. It was fun and nostalgic and brought back some old memories. For food I ordered the Yoga Scramble and enjoyed it. They also have pastries and pies in the front where you pay. The Randall House serves both breakfast and lunch. read more

Memories of my Nonna's house... This place does remind me of my Grandma's house as a kid. They have 4 or 5 smallish rooms with 3 or 4 tables in each of them. Healthy food options (yay), plus artwork available from area artists. For her a Yoga Scramble and hot tea. They have many options of tea, believe she went for a ginger peach. Her dish was scrambled eggs, spinach, onions, red peppers, feta cheese with rye toast and added jam. I chose the Mountain breakfast sundae. This had mixed fruit, yogurt and homemade granola. Wow! The lady at the front was super rude to us. The previous reviews were correct regarding the karen. My family and are we're so excited to eat here . There was only 1 couple Sitting outside. We were the only ones waiting to be seated. We waited patiently and she kept repeating that she will seat us and to wait. Which is what we were already doing, she gave us an irritated look. When I spoke to my mother in law who was cole and suggested she how outside to stand In the sun, the lady again said I'll be right with you to sit you! Chips were old and cold, salsa while home made is not ready for prime time. The options in Pine are not extensive. We discovered Randall House while visiting Payson and Pine for the weekend. First, the ambiance is amazing. It's in a quaint older home with lots of light and original hardwood floors. Many tables are surrounded by windows and there is also room for outside seating. As you walk in, there is a homey seating area, and a case with a variety of house made bakery items and pies available that look great. We were pleasantly greeted and sat by a window in a back room. The staff was very attentive and checked on us regularly for coffee refills. I ordered one of the daily specials, Apple Chicken Sausage Hash. It was amazing with two poached eggs, potatoes, sausage, pieces of apple and cheese, with toast. It was a unique combination with the apple, and it worked amazingly well. You could also tell that the cook really pays attention to the details with garnish and a slice of twisted orange. The food was delicious, and more wholesome and healthy than other options in the area. Some of the other reviews here did not reflect our experience at all. The food was great and reasonably priced. The owner even stopped by to say hello. Couldn't be more pleased and we'll definitely be back again. read more

Mother's Day 2021. We were sat immediately. Beautiful grounds, nice live music, sitting in the shade. After waiting for 1 hour, I asked "what is taking so long?" The manager and our server were anchored in justification and made zero attempt in empathy. They were full of rude attitude for asking obvious question.
