Absolutely a horrible experience for the first visit . I will not come back to this place again. The server was very rude . I order flautas with no quac due to a high allergy . And when I have let her know about the guacamole allergy, she told me that she needed to double charge me and when I told her I would not eat it still told me that I would still be double charged with that being said horrible customer service and I don't recommend..

Super nice people, and I really appreciated that they were open on New Year's Eve. As for the food, I can't say it was one of my favorites--it was just okay. The ground beef didn't have much flavor. The restaurant has a pretty typical Mexican food spot vibe overall.

Our new favorite restaurant when visiting Payson! The hotel front desk recommended this place and we are so glad that they did!! We went there Friday and then again on Sunday!!The atmosphere is festive, colorful and clean. The service is friendly, prompt and helpful. The food. Oh wow. We all said that this had some of the best Mexican food that we had had. The shrimp enchilada was filled with shrimp and flavor, the tamales were filled with so much perfectly cooked shredded beef and the tostadas were overflowing with toppings. All of our portions were huge. And the Margarita Flight was such a fun way to try out their different flavors. And they do not skimp on the tequila!! We cannot wait to go back!!

I don't know that four stars is the normal rating for this restaurant. But I have to say the food is always delicious, the drinks are delicious, the service is consistent, they're always busy, and it genuinely has a good feel to the restaurant. So we are happy with this Mexican restaurant is our favorite in town.

This a nice, cozy restaurant we like to visit in Payson. The dining room is colorful and comfortable and the food is good. The serving sizes are on the small side, but good enough. The service is on the relaxed side, but also good enough.

This was gooooood! Wine is delish. Salsa was really good. The chili Relleno was one of the best I've had. No complaints. The staff is really patient and friendly. Very happy with our meals. We will be back.

If you judge "favorite restaurant" as the restaurant to which you want to AND do go the most often, then La Sierra is far and away my favorite restaurant in Payson. The space is nice, if a bit kitchy and dated, and the service is usually good, although you sometimes have to stand up for yourself like you're at an authentic Chinese restaurant. All of the staff there are really nice and kind, though. The bottomless chips and salsa are good, although the salsa is a bit plain. Order it piquante (spicy) and I swear they just throw some hot sauce into it. One disappointment is the lack of agua frescas (Jamaica, horchata), but the selection of alcoholic beverages is sufficient. I'm a HUGE fan of green chili, and you can get it several different ways; Green Chili Bowl, Green Chili Plate, Chili Verde Chimichanga, Huevos Rancheros. I typically get the Huevos Rancheros with my huevos over easy. I'm also a big fan of the Campechana, which is a cold cocktail of shrimp and octopus with onions, tomatoes and cilantro. It's very refreshing on a hot day. If you enjoy picking crispy chunks off of a scored, deep fried fish, the Pescado La Sierra is fun and tasty. Finally, don't pass up the appetizer of Hongos Al Ajo (mushrooms with garlic) but you MUST Add Octopus. Trust me. Now that I've gotten myself all worked up, I guess I'll be heading over to La Sierra for dinner.

Great service, great prices, and very tasty food! I also love the fact that they have quite a few gluten-free options.

They don't have quite the selection of the other place, but the food is very good. My only criticism would be. There was not much in the way of carrots left by the time we got there on Sunday and they put the guacamole on the chips instead of giving it to you on the side. So the chips got sort of soggy by the time we got home. I will definitely have the shrimp tacos again. It was delicious and my son was very pleased with his Carne Asada tacos with guacamole. We also had a Carne Asada quesadilla and the famous chips with the guacamole already on them. Everything tasted very good. The inside is not anything fancy, but there's a few seats and there's a salsa bar with really nice salsa, limes, and if you can go when they are not out of carrots, there are carrots. I wished that their pickled carrots had more garlic in them. So I guess that would be my second criticism or more of a suggestion. The people there are very nice and if you can find the place you should go.

My husband got the Birria tacos and consume. I had those last time he had them this time they are amazing super flavorful. I switched it up this time and got the enchilada trio. When they walked up with the plate I was in shock the plate was three times the size of my head. Those may have been the best enchiladas I've ever had. I'm very picky with my sauces. Trying enchiladas are always a staple for me that determines a restaurant for me. I usually like a darker red sauce. It was a little orange and surprisingly very pleasant very flavorful first time I've ever liked an orange sauce. The creamy white sauce was so flavorful and might've been my favorite enchilada. I've never been a green sauce girly but there's is absolutely delicious. The rice was a little bland for me but the beans were delicious. Our service was very attentive and food came out quick. I love the ambience there. Everything is wood lots of things to look at very laid-back and very welcominga bit western too . I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in town at Payson!

Turns out, this is the same chain that got its start in my California hometown! I grew up with Alibertos! Totally makes sense why I choose this place above all others in town. Tastes just like home. If you're from SoCal and need your street taco fix, Alibertos has your back. 10/10 no notes, I LOVE this place. Authentic thick and flavorful salsas, perfectly cooked carnitas, proper corn tortillas doubled up to support the toppings Just the best. This isn't your typical Sonoran desert or Tex-Mex Mexican food. This is definitely a taste of that Baja-style Mexican food found close to the TJ border - this chain literally got its start in San Diego California - and I'm not surprised they're still my favorite all these years and miles later. The men and women that staff this location are wonderful as well. I never have any issues as they are always courteous and kind.

No gloves and no washing hands between. The employee also likes to hand you your soda cup buy inserting her hand in the inside of the cup, right after mopping. There are other food code. Violations clearly visible but am leaving it up to the state inspector to do his job. The employee seemed fine touching cups on the inside, food and food trays and cleaning supplies simultaneously with no care. I am sure her food handlers card is up to date. I did try to inform her politely, but she waved her hand at me like she was batting away a fly. Very professional. A walking health code violation works the front counter. Beware.

Friendly service. Located in the parking lot of an antiques store with bathrooms inside, "Western Village Antiques" to be precise. Should have ordered six for two people. My only recommendation: use double tortillas for each taco to reduce spillage and messiness. Otherwise, one can ask for a fork. Wife liked pork. I liked beef. Both were great. They were out of chocolate chip cookies. Darn. Strong Recommend.

We came by on a Monday -- their special chicken dinner day -- and ordered the chicken plate (fresh breast + thigh), with rice, beans, fresh corn tortillas, and both red and green salsas. We also grabbed two carnitas street tacos. The second I took a bite, I knew I was in trouble (the good kind). The chicken was perfectly seasoned, with a golden crust that had flavor in every crispy edge. And the carnitas tacos? Authentic, juicy, rich -- exactly what you want in a taco. We literally turned around right after finishing and ordered two more tacos. No shame. Took them to-go and ate them lakeside at Green Lake -- 10/10 vibes. The guys running the truck are genuinely kind-hearted and personable, which just makes the whole experience even better. Why tacos this good are in Payson, I have no idea... but I'm so glad they are.
