This innovative dish, for a Mexican place, was based with a yellow rice mixed with the tender chicken, mixed (basic) vegetables, and freshly-cooked green peppers, broccoli, onions and mushrooms. For style and taste, fresh tomatoes and avocado slices were on the edges of the plate. The sauce was mildly salty with a light soy and green chili taste - held together with thick gooey Monterrey cheese. I enjoyed this the richness of this dish. My eating partner had the Polle Mole (pun). This was chicken breast in a dark mole sauce, with the earthiness of chocolate and some sweetness to bring out the flavor. Unexpectedly good eating. Traveling on the I-17, saw La Casita on Yelp and 15 minutes later I passed a house that said La Casita and Open. There is public parking across the street. Walked in and what a pleasant surprise. Colorful interior with plenty of alcoves. Mexican music and a pleasant hello! Family owned restaurant and Jose was my server. In fact he was the server, bartender and cashier for everyone! It took 10+ minutes to get our drink orders in and have our server come by our table. Other people were sat after our party and were served before us. The food was good. I really liked the beans. Food was ok, but honestly I could make better at home. The chicken was dry and not well seasoned. The toppings: guac, sour cream, etc. were great, chicken and veggies not so much. The service was also mediocre. We had to remind them two times to bring another basket of chips and my dad ordered a drink that never came. What a great find for Mexican food! I had the taco salad with ground beef, and it was tasty! Loved the decor. Service was as fast as possible considering a full house on a Friday evening. Wow! What a great find. If you are traveling through this area, you won't be disappointed if you stop here for a meal. We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Friday night and it was packed. We only had to wait a few minutes to get a table for 4 and a high chair but we had to squeeze in. Our waiter was very efficient and worked his b*** off every minute we were there. What a great find in this little town! I went to La Casita my first night in Arizona, and I loved it! I ordered the Enchiladas traditional, and boy were they yummy! Also, I love that the chips came with not only salsa but refried bean dip. I mainly ate the refried beans. The waiters were so helpful: 3 of them were coming to my table throughout my meal. Stopped in here while camping at Zane Grey. This place is fantastic. Ordered the Chili Verde and Chicken tortilla soup. Kids had beef taco salad and Carne asada. Food is made fresh and it shows. We found this place after visiting Out of Africa. It wasn't very busy when we went (Sunday around 5). They sat us quickly, but the servers weren't all that friendly. It took towards the end of our meal for our waitress to warm up to us. The food however was so very good!!! The taco was huge and refried beans and rice were so good! We love the food but after our debit card got hit 3 times for lunch on Thursday, we are so disappointed. This is ridiculous. One was for $63.44 which included tip. This was correct. Then there was 2 other charges for $53.44 which were fraud. That's an extra $106.88 that they charged. So our lunch cost $170.32 read more

I guess we should've turned around when we first got in the building and it was pretty busy, but there were tables open and we were still standing there for 10 minutes to even be acknowledged to sit down. We were finally sat down outside actually more or less just pointed to go outside and we sat in a corner area. We were sitting there for almost 10 to 15 minutes, not even to be knowledged and the people that sat right behind us were given chips and salsa almost right away and we were ignored. Probably another good 10 to 15 minutes later somebody finally came and asked if we got menus. No, we didn't get menus that we did do you see menus with us? I also asked if we could get chips and salsa because everybody else got some and we never did and she apologized and still didn't get any to us so finally she came to about 10 or 15 minutes again later to get our drink order and I said can we also get chips and salsa cause you still yet have brought them out even though everybody else outside has gotten chips and salsa maybe twice. So finally she came back with our drinks and took our order and never came back to ask if we want to drink refills finally brought our food again another 10 or 15 minutes later and then was trying to make all these excuses up to why we were being ignored so much and I'm sorry but we shouldn't be ignored at a restaurant and I'm sorry to say that the only thing going good was their food. Very good experience here while visiting Camp Verde! Cute little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. First, it's been a VERY long time since a meal so hot was delivered to my table. I had to wait for it to cool down, what a great moment lol. I ordered the lunch chicken mole and husband had the pork Chile verde. My meal was excellent; hubs was good but wasn't as rich as he's tasted elsewhere. We loved the double salsa- the bean dip was excellent.
