The first time I went, I got a combination platter with a Chile Relleno, enchilada, and taco with rice and beans. I honestly wasn't impressed with the flavors. All the items seemed pretty basic to be honest and my taco shell was a little burnt. But I decided to give another couple tries. The second time I went, I got the fajita steak taco salad. That was much better. Last but definitely not least I went and got there green chili burrito. Now that was something delicious. I would definitely go back for that dish. Amazing green sauce. They also have really good chips and salsa. It's a small place with good service. It's been busy every time I've been there so that must be a good sign. Anyway, give it a try sometime.

We were disappointed with our experience at Montezuma Burgers Haus. Unfortunately, the customer…read moreservice was lacking. Our server gave the impression that we were more of an inconvenience than valued customers, which made the meal less enjoyable. As for the food, it was edible, but that's about the best I can say. Everything was very bland and lacked the flavor and quality we were hoping for. It feels like the restaurant may be relying on the fact that there isn't much local competition, which can sometimes lead to less attention being paid to service and food quality. We always hope to support local businesses, but this experience fell well short of our expectations. Hopefully they'll make some improvements in the future.

I was seated quickly for lunch. I ordered my go to food. Chile relleno, cheese enchilada, and taco with rice and beans. Nothing was good. The taco had no flavor, enchilada was the same. Rice and beans were both bland. What shocked me was the chile relleno. It was basically a chile inside a fried egg. I've never had anything like it. It tasted more like a bad omelette than anything. Just weird. Unfortunately, there are so many better options in the Verde Valley.. actually all of them.

The service is outstanding, the food is fresh & generous. I believe it's family run. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is their empanadas. It's very difficult to find empanadas in Arizona Mexican restaurants, for some reason. But there's more. The empanadas are made only with corn flour and they are gluten-free and wonderful! Soooo, I would guess the place may get busy on weekends perhaps? The food was your average Mexican-American Cuisine and the prices were the same as much larger or nicer establishments, but since I think its the only Mexican restaurant around for miles, they have the market cornered. The Chimi was pretty small (should have known since it was only $4) but the burrito I ordered was the expected. The margaritas were good but the chips and salsa did not include bean dip as mentioned by another reviewer. Guess they stopped doing that. My suggestion to the management: advertise some happy hour specials and offer them daily. This will at least bring in SOME business. You are on a major thoroughfare; utilize this to your advantage. You will attract plenty of locals along with several travelers (like myself) in need of refreshment and a decent meal.

The waitress was great, continuous refills on drinks, chips and salsa. After sitting down you get a great big basket of chips, two salsas, pico and bean dip.
