The service was very fast and friendly, but the ambiance was fairly generic, though the music was very loud. The drinks menu contained no agua frescas nor Jarritos, just some juice and Pepsi sodas. I was excited to get a chimichanga (I know, more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican), and was also pleased to get some table tortilla chips and salsa. I chose the Chimichanga Del Mar as it was switching it up a little, and it proved why you don't pair seafood with cheese. The chimichanga was maybe baked long enough to melt the cheese? It certainly wasn't fried and crispy. This left me with a whole lot of soft textures, as the seafood filling was mushy too. In the end I ate about half of it and pulled the shrimp and scallop out of the second half before throwing in the towel. That did leave room for dessert, so I got a flan. Unsure why it came out covered in whipped cream and chocolate, but luckily I was able to remove all that and enjoy a decent flan. Your mileage may vary and I'd be open to trying something else on the menu to see if it is also bland, but I didn't leave very impressed. Also, the handicapped entrance is in the back of the building with only one dedicated parking spot, so it's clear accessibility isn't top of mind here.

We're on a long weekend for a wedding and not from around here, but ordered take out to our hotel room for the morning (afternoon) after. Best food... ever. The same woman who took the order, delivered our food and could not have been sweeter. They forgot a pizza, but she was so amazing we didn't even care! She quickly ran back to restaurant and grabbed our pizza in no time! Just randomly picked this place off google and we got SO lucky. Food was great, service was top notch. Ok So La Cantina took over from NY Pizza and opend a couple of weeks ago. One my first visit I asked what was the house specialty as there menu was quite diverse and extensive. Our server reccommended Fish Taco's I am not a huge fan or Fish Tacos but I said I will try them. Boy am I glad I did. I have now been back 3 times and the food has been outstanding! Everything I tried has been excellent but those Fish Tacos... I am an addict now. Ate there with my husband and 10 year old granddaughter. Service was great and food was so much better than we expected. We had the fish sandwich, a philly steak grinder and fried clams. All were fresh, plentiful and prepared beautifully, including presentation. This was a spur of the moment decision to stop in, but the food will bring us back again, for sure. Well I've been to quite a few Mexican restaurants and La Cantina is not.the best but by far not the worst. The fish tacos were awesome and the enchiladas were just as good.
