I went here for lunch and the first impression was that this was a Mexican restaurant if it was made by people who wanted to tame down Mexican food. The service was very fast and friendly, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance was fairly generic, though the music was very loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks menu contained no agua frescas nor Jarritos, just some juice and Pepsi sodas. I was excited to get a chimichanga (I know, more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican), and was also pleased to get some table tortilla chips and salsa. I chose the Chimichanga Del Mar as it was switching it up a little, and it proved why you don't pair seafood with cheese. The chimichanga was maybe baked long enough to melt the cheese? It certainly wasn't fried and crispy. This left me with a whole lot of soft textures, as the seafood filling was mushy too. In the end I ate about half of it and pulled the shrimp and scallop out of the second half before throwing in the towel. That did leave room for dessert, so I got a flan. Unsure why it came out covered in whipped cream and chocolate, but luckily I was able to remove all that and enjoy a decent flan. Your mileage may vary and I'd be open to trying something else on the menu to see if it is also bland, but I didn't leave very impressed. Also, the handicapped entrance is in the back of the building with only one dedicated parking spot, so it's clear accessibility isn't top of mind here. read more

Everything was great for my family. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. The 12 ounce guacamole and cheese were what we devoured. Right away, the salsa and hot chips came out. As the salsa is served, a small bowl is given to each person so you don't have to share germs. It cost less than $8 for my son to eat a beef taco with fries. I got carne asada, which was a lot of steak served with rice, beans, and gaucamole. We also ordered chile Colorado, which had very soft meat and a lot of sauce. Both of them were great, and I would order them again. We didn't think the Colorado dish's sauce looked right because there was so much of it, but it tasted great, and for people who always like extra sauce, this is it. They were very helpful and brought us fresh, hot chips with our food. They also refilled our drinks often. We had dessert even though we were already full. Caramel, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and ice cream were served with the sopapillas. They were tasty and hot. They get chewy if you don't eat them quickly. There was chocolate and caramel on top of the churros, as well as whipped cream and ice cream. The outside was perfectly crispy, and the inside was hot and doughy. This is literally the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The salad had enough water at the bottom of it to fill a dog bowl. The chicken was dried out and burnt. My boyfriend's burrito tasted like salt and nothing else. The Good, The bad, and the not so good (there is no ugly!). The good: excellent Don Julio ultimate margaritas ($10.50) two were perfect! Very good salsa - both hot and medium. Good guacamole, good chicken enchilada. The Bad: pre-made taco shells, not crispy, fell apart on the first bite. Chicken was tasty, a good amount - but the shell was sub standard. Gotta have crunch value AND flavor - these had great flavor. The "Not So Good": the chicken tamales are very good - I wish they were bigger in size. The sauce was flavorful, the masa was a bit dry. Overall this place is a solid four stars because of its location, flavor, and authenticity. Being in New England, if I lived here I would drive 30 minutes to get here.
