Jollof rice with Goat stew (supreme)
    David S.

Less than 5 stars would be a crime against this small place that transports you to exotic flavortown. The proprietor, Eunice, has done a phenomenal job establishing the brand decor from the moment you walk in. Vibrant colors and smells greet you. If she is working, take the time to chat. She is a young adult with a world of intrigue. Her passion for cooking is what led her to 'give back to the community', as she put it. And give back she does! I've been on several occasions and not once been disappointed. My go to is the goat stew with jollof rice. However, there are many other delicious options and some I have yet to try. She also offers catering and culinary instruction on some of her fusion dishes. I can't say enough! Stop in and enjoy. Bon appetite!

What a hidden gem! I've gone here twice and I can't even express the burst of flavor this food has! Everything is homemade and so fresh and seasoned so perfectly! I need to go back and just order everything! Both times I've gotten the Birria tacos with my co workers and there insane! They epaxked with tasty, tender juicy meat and the juice! If you get this I would highly recommend getting a cup of the juice! So good!

I should have listened to the reviews. I was really hopeful about this place and I was treating myself to a Mother's Day dinner on a limited income. What a waste of money! I even added in the messages to please not disappoint if you see the picture of my receipt you will see that. Please review the photos. Omg so bad. Even leftovers were horrible! Waste of money big time

Their birrio tacos are out of this world. 3 of them, very filling. I cant resist fried plantains. These folks know how to cook. Small place, but dont let that deter you. They have about 6 tables. Thankful there are small great food places like this. Parking is tight, but make it. You'll love that you went.

Wow wow wow! This place was such a great find for my road trip out to Webster! You walk in and all you can smell is the delicious food being cooked in the kitchen - so fragrant! We sat down and somebody came over to give us their recommendations since it was our first time there. We decided on the jollof rice with beef and the Birria tacos. I will travel down to Webster again just to eat at this location. The food came out within reasonable time and we're super hot. Everything was delicious - my table tried each others food and everybody liked everything. Just look at these photos! Tacos were filled to the brim and overflowing while you ate them and the beef jollof? Give me a bucket of this stuff! I will be back to try the rest of their menu!!!

Just try it, you'll change ur mind about moving out of Webster... Best treat after a paycheck

I had seen the place every day while driving by and always meant to stop by - finally got there the other day. Wishing I had done so sooner. This place has amazing food. Have since tried a few dishes including the birria tacos, the jollof rice, and fried chicken to name a few. Everything I have tried has been fresh and delicious. This hands down beats the other typical lunch spots available to those of us that work in the area. For the most part, the options were previously mediocre at best. It is an amazing addition to Webster food scene such as it is.The flavor on the tacos was great, and they were really stuffed with meat, no skimping here, and topped with fresh herbs, and all were handmade fresh. The fried chicken had a wonderfully crispy coating and were perfectly fried. And they came out steaming hot so no waiting around under a heater. Overall, a fantastic addition to the Webster area and a true change of pace. I will definitely be a regular there!

Either way.... they find new and improved ways to disappoint our delivery service. Quite a few times I have found hair in my food. That should have been it- especially since they promised to send us a gift card, even though they never did. This particular time? They sent us a JOKE of a meal consisting only of a sad, lonely piece of a fish triangle in a lonely, floppy corn tortilla. No cabbage. No condiments. Just a SAD piece of "Baja" fish for $17. The one star is because I couldn't vote zero. And if I had to give ONE redeeming factor, it would be their delicious guacamole. I'll give them that. Wish these were more options in our town! Luckily- the delivery services are starting to offer more

Ceviche tastes fresh, guacamole is fresh, salsa is pretty good (I like a watery salsa), chips pretty good, mixed drinks (Paloma and margaritas) are good enough, chicken tortilla soup is filling. None of this is so good that I would recommend driving 15 minutes + out of your way for, but decent enough. The downside: most of the food is lackluster. Tamales: dry (thank God for the watery salsa); rice and beans: dry, with beans slightly on the flavorless and burnt side; the burritos: vegetables are fresh, but meat always tastes dry (chicken) or slightly flavorless (beef), (thankfully most burritos served with a cheese sauce as well, but the lettuce and tomatoes that are served with it are always cheap and flavorless); enchiladas: one-note, the salty sauce and cheese covers up other flavors ( if there even are any); tacos: forgettable and one-note in flavor (needed guacamole, salsa and hot sauce to provide any depth of flavor); street corn: a complete joke, and covered with a mayonnaise-like condiment containing Sazon. For entertainment, order the street corn! Ask them to split it in two so that it can be for two people. Depending on who the chef or waitress is this could turn into an interesting conversation (about whether corn can be split in two vertically, seriously- the waitress left our table and returned asking if we meant split a cob of corn vertically or horizontally). She then stared in wonderment at us when i said "we just want 2 portions"; i felt like i was making an Abott and Costello bit, when she replied "sooooo, two orders split in half or what do you mean?". I mean one ear of corn cut in half so one person can have one half and another person can have one half. She nodded in amazement, saying that it would be really hard to cut an ear of corn in half but maybe if the chef has a good knife, maybe this amazing half corn could happen. Then it arrives, yes split horizontally in two, she looked very proud. Now, what's supposed to make street corn street corn is that it's grilled and seasoned, then covered in a Mexican crema and cotija cheese topping with lime and onions. Mexicali boils their corn in unsalted water, doesn't usually cut it in half or season it afterwards, leaves the corn probably for the whole shift so that each of the kernels gets really shriveled and dry like an old raisin, then coats it with mayonnaise and sprinkles Sazon on it. It's an entertaining experience, if nothing else. Definitely have an adult beverage- at least those will have flavor and hopefully make the whole experience fun/worthwhile!

The place is huge, on point cultural music (albeit loud- I'm old I like quieter) and the queer o meter is a perfect 10. Most excellent. The complimentary chips n salad were delicious. Thin, warm and lightly salted with just enough heat to the salsa and nice flavor. The rest is pretty straightforward- a chicken quesadilla that was jammed with cheese. It oozed out of the sides. And a steak fajita - both were very very good. The fajita had a great flavor, hot and piled high with peppers and onions. The steak slices were tender and delicious too - I will put out there that might be the only "con" it, in my opinion, could've done with 3 or 4 more slices of steak. However there is an epic amount of the peppers and onion which I 100% appreciate. Our waitress was so friendly and top notch. Accommodating and available without hovering. Food was delicious, service wonderful and atmosphere comfortable (sans loud music ha ha) The prices seem to be higher than other Mexican places - ie. The fajita was $21 and usually I'd venture to say that's the shrimp or combo cost, not steak or chicken. So overall they are about $3 higher. In the end I was fine with that bc it's really good and I would go back! Thank you El Patron Corona!! Cheers!

I heard recently that they had a new owner and I had an elderly friend out from the nursing home for the day and she wanted to stop here for lunch as her and her late husband came here often. We stopped in on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty quiet in there except for a couple other tables taken. My friend wanted pizza and added a salad. While we were waiting the new owner came over to introduce himself and make sure we were all set. He's a nice young man and seems eager to make his business a success. My friends salad came out first and it was a big salad for 99 cents with a meal. She said it was delicious and they gave her plenty of salad dressing. Our pizza came out shortly and it was delicious, definitely one of the better pizzas I've had in town. The pizza had plenty of cheese/sauce ratio and it had a nice crispy bottom. On this cool spring visit, we sat inside at a corner table with a nice view of the lake. We ordered: Happy Hour Chicken Tacos ($8) Happy Hour Fish Tacos ($8) Fish & Chips Dinner ($21) Merlot ($9) Cabernet ($11) The tacos are normally $16 for three on the dinner menu, so getting four for that price during Happy Hour is a good deal. Results were mixed. Starting with the positive: the Fish Tacos were excellent. The haddock was perfectly cooked--crispy and flavorful--served in grilled flour tortillas with shredded iceberg lettuce, creamy slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle lime aioli. Really well done! The Chicken Tacos, on the other hand, were disappointing. The chipotle-braised chicken, along with the toppings, made them feel dense and soggy. Not something I would order again. The Fish & Chips was the biggest letdown. The fried haddock was thin and dry, and the fries were limp and not hot enough. The coleslaw was very good, though. Honestly, if they used the same haddock from the fish tacos here, it would be a big upgrade. Service was good overall, though the dinners took a while to arrive. Bottom line: 3 stars. Still the best restaurant option on the lake, but there's plenty of room for improvement.
