I'm visiting the area from Atlanta and wow, I'm so happy we decided to eat here. We came in on a Friday night around 7 pm without a reservation with a group of 10. We were seated immediately even though the place was crowded. Most of us ordered a medium margarita to start and the drink was huge and very alcoholic. I added mango flavor to mine which made it extra delicious. My friends loved the Texas Margarita as well. Plus they have a skinny option too. We were also served chips and salsa complimentary to the table. For dinner, I ordered the pastor tacos. They are better than any tacos I've had in Atlanta and some of the best tacos I've had overall. For $14, the three tacos - with rice and beans - were stuffed with meat and so flavorful. Everyone absolutely loved their meals and it was such a great price. I would 1000% recommend eating here for delicious Mexican food. All 10 of us loved our meals - and we each ordered something different, which tells you just how delicious all of the food is. Food was delicious!! My hubby, mom and sister got a California burrito specially made, the chef did exactly what we requested. Waitress (Antonia) and manager Jesus exceeded our expectations. My nephew and dad had something that was not on the menu and they kindly prepared simple but tasty, 3 scrambled eggs and French fries. Their chips and salsa fire !! The couple times I've been here the food has been lackluster, greasy, unappetizing. Will not be coming back. I see the parking lot being full a lot, but I think it's because people are just going there because it's cheap food. read more

This was our second time eating at La cabana and we really enjoyed it again. Food is consistently good. The service is fast, the portions are large, and the value is extraordinary! We heard other customers complaining that the quesadillas had too much meat and not enough cheese... But our 12 year old gobbled them up and thought they were delicious. We stopped by for a quick dinner. The chips n salsa were good. The chicken taco salad was ok, the chicken is in a white sauce. I was hoping it would be lighter. The chili Reanos was not like anything we were used to so also ok. The fajitas were average. Overall it was ok not great and we will try other places next time i. the area. Came here again, and ordered the La Cabana fajitas, which included beef, shrimp, chicken, and pork. I thought it was on the dry side, and was probably due to so few veggies in relation to meat. When you get to this location you think "This looks... hmmm" but once you are seating inside and the service starts !! Amazing !! We had queso that had just enough jalapenos to make it perfect , i ordered the El Pasto tacos .. The BEST i have ever had !!! Perfectly seasoned with just enough pineapple to break up the spicy of the pork. My husband had the burritos, one chicken and one beef and was very please wit these as well. After a day whitewater rafting and a hungry belly this was a great find. An authentic Mexican restaurant and very unassuming. The decor does little to inspire good dining but the food really is amazing. Very very tasty and full of flavor. I was blown away by the quality and flavor of the food. Staff were attentive and friendly. The Margaritas were really good. We ended up eating here the next night rather than try somewhere different. Carne Asada first night was so good. Rice and beans had so much flavor as well. Fajitas the next night were just as good and met all expectations created the first night. Well worth the wait for a table when busy. This restaurant is a bit of a mixed bag. We've visited the location in Clayton - this one is in Dillard occupying a big space that once held a BBQ place as I recall. There's some interesting white cedar post-and-beam work and huge murals that appear to be hand-painted. The food in general was good with a couple of exceptions. The salsa here is crap - tasted like something from a Sisco food-service gallon jar. The chips were fresh but had a bit of an oily taste to them - with the salsa they were pretty bad. We had a variety of plates and for the most part the food was good - the exception was the guacamole - wow that was bad - not that it tasted bad, but it really had the consistency and taste of green-flavored sour cream. It's surprising as the pico was very good and the side of hot sauce served with my carnitas was exceptional - blazing hot, smoky and thick. The pork was a bit fatty and seemed twice-cooked. I tasted the mole on the stuffed poblano and it was very passable - bit of a mixed bag here. read more

After passing this place many times in recent months and seeing the parking lot was full, we came for lunch and found out why it is so popular. Very clean, open dining area, good menu selections and great staff. We ordered beef/chicken fajitas for two and it was excellent with leftovers for dinner! Food and service are always perfect. It's also great for family birthday party's. They cater to your needs.

I placed a to go order and upon arrival just stood at the entrance for ten minutes along with other people trying to pay or sit down. The employee had me pay the bill and said he was getting the food and I waited another ten minutes, finally asking the same person if he was getting y order. I get home with my order and the food looks gross. My enchiladas are just sitting in liquid, the churros are just a mess of honey and sprinkles, and they missed my daughters order. A great place to meet friends to enjoy dinner and some drinks. Personally, I could drink a barrel od Dos Equis Amber draft but the house margaritas and wines get high praise too. The staff is uniformly professional and friendly; happy to let you try out your Spanish! The food is pretty basic but offered in some interesting combinations. Food took a normal amount of time which told me it was actually made per order versus the instant Mexican we get at places at home.
