We went here because it was the closest Resy restaurant to use our Amex credit. Turns out it is pretty good especially the rabun spicy roll

Food was phenomenal, and the workers were attentive and the service was on point. The ambiance was perfection.

This was our first trip in to Rabun Social. We were greeted and seated immediately by an energetic young man. We found RS to be an attraction for families with children, especially in the area with low-top tables. On the day we visited, children of various ages were running back & forth to the restroom, standing in the walkways, yelling, crying, etc. If yours is an adult party, I recommend you sit at the high-top tables, which are in a separate area. Our waiter, though he seemed detached, was knowledgeable and helpful concerning food sensitivities. Because they do not have GF bread or buns, and use gluten-containing ingredients in their sushi and soups, I ordered a smash burger with no bun, and a side of vegetables. This was very tasty; I ate every bite of the burger. Hubby ordered the California Roll. I was unable to taste these, as the imitation crab has gluten-containing ingredients as a binder. Cool spot and atmosphere but the food was terrible. Probably one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Got a salmon roll which was incredibly chewy. I was super excited to try this place, it's an interesting vibe, not necessarily my vibe but definitely interesting. Our service was pretty bad, there was no one there and it took a hot second for our server to come over. I asked if they had any mocktails and she said they could make whatever which isn't really to helpful so passed on that. Ordered french dip sandwich, chicken lettuce wraps, and vegetable sushi role. Everything was good I will preface it with that. With the lettuce wraps, I would highly recommend not filling them and giving a stack of lettuce and letting the customer fill them themselves because they just sit while you're eating and the lettuce gets really hot. Additionally, the plate was really hot, so maybe a cold plate instead again just so the lettuce again isn't super hot but that's just being picky. We asked our server for more water once food was delivered, never came back until she was dropping off the check. When she did come back I asked again for more water and she seemed really irritated. Really I prefer *3 1/2 stars*. The food was good and our server was nice. Cool decor. We ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer and a smash burger with fries to split. After receiving drinks and appetizer we learned when we placed our order that there is a "$4 or $5" split fee on an already pricy burger ($16, I think). They have every right to charge that, but it is not mentioned on the menu. If we knew before we ordered, we would not have gotten an appetizer because 2 entrees AND an appetizer is way too much for us. We politely told them we would just eat our app, pay, and go so they waived the fee, but they really need to publish it so the servers aren't put in a bad position. read more

Much, much, much smaller than the online representation and all the things we talked about ordering were not on the menu. That being said, the server was great and a little embarrassed. Welcome to Main Street, Clayton Ga. A beautiful and charismatic town of the south. Rabun Social is going to be your spot for sushi, Asian, and a wide array of craft beverages and fine whiskies. The Pork Egg Rolls and the Crab Cakes are to die for. I would like to see a better selection of fish. I would say it's about 80/20 Tuna to Salmon. Two of us visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We made a reservation for noon and were seated upon arrival. Our reservation was originally for an indoor high top, but we requested to sit outside being the weather was lovely. The hostess was both accommodating and friendly. Fast forward to our server, she too was friendly and both were knowledgeable regarding the daily specials. My friend ordered a prosecco with a splash of cranberry juice and I ordered a club soda with an in-house created cherry simple syrup. I liked the stemless glassware used to serve my friend's bubbles. We started with the social lettuce wraps. These were very good! The lettuce was crisp, fresh, and sturdy. Nothing is worse than ordering lettuce wraps and the mixture is leaking through weak pieces of lettuce. The chicken mixture featured a nice subtle soy flavor. For our meals, we opted for the daily special which was a one party smash burger v. the 2 patty entrée on the menu. We paired our burgers with a side salad dressed in carrot ginger vinaigrette.Both the burger and salad portions were plentiful. The salad dressing was very tasty and I enjoyed how the burger was trimmed. Albeit, I didn't partake in the special sauce and instead opted for ketchup and mustard. I requested my burger be prepared medium rare, but it was cooked medium. I believe there was a mix-up and my friend received the medium rare patty. Fortunately, it was still very good. The only complaint is my bun was over toasted so the top was too hard. Bonus: I saved a few calories. ;) Prior to leaving, we ventured inside to use the restrooms. I really enjoyed the decor. Overall, Rabun Social has a great atmosphere, food and the customer service was on point. Additionally, I appreciated the owner's interaction with customers. We ordered 5 things, here's the breakdown for each: Spicy tuna and California rolls: average flavor at best and they had about an overall diameter of a quarter Asian pear salad: sent it back immediately as I could smell and see the turned lettuce, I'm floored they served it like that Caesar salad: lacking flavor but the lettuce was fresh Lettuce Wraps: extremely salty, couldn't finish them... and we LOVE salt, but hey at least the lettuce was fresh on these Service lacking, asked for utensils, and didn't ask how our food was. Rabun social is a great place for food and atmosphere, but they have recently adopted an unfortunate policy of penalizing the customer for patronizing their establishment by gouging an additional 3% for those who use a credit card to pay with as I noticed on my last visit. Credit card processing fees are a cost of doing business just like power, water, rent, insurance, etc., are and should be included in the price of the food - not itemized on the bill. What's next, will we start to see an electrical % fee tacked on each check because we choose to sit inside and enjoy heat/AC as opposed to sitting outside? Where does this end? Normally when someone uses cash, the business would automatically receive a 3% internal increase for not having to pay a CC fee. I personally could do without the penalty I now receive at the end of my dining experience. If they really want to entice customers to use cash, they should offer a 3% discount for those that do so and not penalize the customer for the reverse. It's a much more positive experience and accomplishes the same. Otherwise, I suggest paying with pennies. read more

This was our second time trying Rabun Social. We weren't impressed on our first visit, but the new menu tempted us to give it another shot. Unfortunately, their attempt at Asian fusion in North Georgia still misses the mark. The Miso Caesar salad was drenched in parmesan, overpowering any hint of dressing. We probably should have skipped the sushi, but we tried it anyway--a $24 roll, heavily coated in various sauces, which completely masked the taste of the fish. This became a theme for the meal. The ramen was decent, but for a $20 bowl, we expected more. It was very spicy, which seemed to cover up a lack of flavor. The atmosphere is pleasant, but with so many other good dining options in the area, we won't be returning. read more

I swear jake and Sabrina are the best at sushi in town, everytime I come in and they are here the rolls are perfection! It doesn't just taste good it looks amazing these guys rock! By now I've had just about every sushi roll on the menu and I never get tired of them. The quality of the fish and the consistency of the rice is quite literally perfect, most places I've been for sushi have overcooked rice and basic flavors but not here the rice is firm but fully cooked and the flavors are to die for. I especially like their prime catch roll and the zuke sashimi (soy marinated yellowfin tuna) these are my go to meals when I stop in but they have alot more to offer! If you want top quality sushi and you havent been here yet, its a must to stop in and check them out! It has now become my Saturday ritual. read more

We were camping nearby and stopped in for lunch while exploring town. This is a neat environment for a fall day - eating outside was delightful. The staff was excellent, friendly and efficient. The menu is a neat collection of different cuisine. The Miso Soup had a nice flavor but came out room temperature. I thought Miso was served hot? And it had a LOT of tofu cubes in it. In fact it was a bowl of tofu with some soup poured over it. The Dragon roll was Excellent! with a very crispy shrimp inside. We also had crab cakes and although not advertised on the menu as hot, they were - very hot. They were red with red pepper and the sauce was also hot. They were so spicy that you couldn't taste the crab, all you tasted was pepper. I think if I came back I would stick to their sushi which seemed to be very good. read more

What a jewel in downtown Clayton! My mom likes to eat early before restaurants get loud and they were not serving dinner yet so they sat us at the bar and served her as soon as the kitchen was ready. Had a nice lunch here on the patio. Service is top notch from the word go. Lunch menu has plenty of options from hearty to light fare. Got the Nigiri 5 and was pleased with the presentation as well as the freshness of the sushi. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 for sure. After driving all day from North West Florida we were eager to sit down and have a real meal. We were promptly greeted by Michael, the owner. Our children shook his hand and introduced themselves and he was thrilled they had manners and offered them free ice cream after dinner of course. We decided to check out Rabun Social on Thursday. We got there and it was already buzzing and it was only 530. The ambience was very cool and spacious. We started with the social dirty martini and social sour along with the delicious chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. We had the ahi pokey bowl and these Wagyu Smashburger, which were both phenomenal. The Smashburger is my favorite burger in town now! The owner came by and sat down and chatted with us for a few minutes. Super cool guy! Our waitress was very kind and the food and drinks came out quickly. When we left every seat in the house and outside was taken. There's a really nice outdoor covered patio area along with an outdoor bar area. There's also a "happy hour" Monday through Friday. Don't quote me, but I believe it's something like 4 to 5 and 9 to 10 PM . We will definitely be back! read more

Food is good, I have an issue with the drinks. Beware and know what you are ordering. I had the misfortune to order a peach margarita. it's summer, I'm in the Peach state. I had visions of a smooth, iced drink in a classic Margarita glass, trickling wonderfully down my throat, every yummy bit. What I got was a short bar glass filled over the brim with ice. it contained a small amount of old and bitter sweet and sour mix, or possibly margarita mix (I couldn't tell) with a splash of peach schnapps splashed on the top. To top it off, it had a wrinkled dried out sliver of blood orange thrown on top of the excessive ice. Unfortunately, I took a sip. I should have sent it back but I didn't. My food was okay, I was hungry and got distracted. Bar none, the WORST excuse for a drink I have had in 10 years. To me it shows a desperation of the restaurant to make money at all cost, the customer be damned. At the end of my meal the ice had not melted below the edge of the glass and I got 4 little sips of something nasty for $13. I may go back for the food, but I'll laugh if they ask if I want something from the bar. Get something that needs a bottle opener, if you must. I was charged $16 for the lettuce wraps, which are $13 on the website menu. The bar window allows quite a few flys in also, not to mention letting the air conditioning out. read more
