This was an outstanding restaurant - I'm blown away. It's a small restaurant with many customers going in and out to pick up their food, but there are some dine-ins like my family. The waitress was so sweet and friendly, and though she didn't speak a lot of English, she still made us feel very welcome. The food was AMAZING! We had never had Ecuadorian food before, and will definitely be coming back. The portions are HUGE, and the prices are sooo cheap especially given how much meat and seafood was on our plates! We got: 1. Pollo Cabaña: It was a little salty but soooo flavorful and it came with so much rice!! The chicken was really tender, and the plantain was grilled perfectly. Yum!! 2. Camarones Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) w Tostones (Green Plantains): The tostones we're delicious!!! Especially with the sauce, which was amazing and so garlicky and flavorful. Both the shrimp and the rice pair well with the sauce, which is so intense and packs a flavor punch! 3. Sopa de Mariscos (Seafood Soup): I was so impressed by how much seafood was in the soup-it came with generous portions of crab, mussels and shrimp, and the rice noodles in the soup were tender and delicious. I can't even describe the flavor of the soup, but it's creamy and not too fishy and tasty. 4. Mar y Tierra (Grilled Meats): This came with SO much meat-beef, chicken, fish, and shrimp! The beans that came on the side were flavorful and delicious with the rice, and the meat-especially the chicken-was perfectly grilled and juicy. 5. Carne Apanada: This was breaded beef, and it was thinly pounded and so crispy and yummy!! Even the white rice that came with several of the dishes was flavorful-it had coconut milk in it, I think. They put so much effort into all the dishes and little details. I am so impressed!! You should pay with cash to avoid the 4% card fee, and the parking lot is very tight, so prepare for that! But if you want an authentic, delicious meal, this is your place!! 10000/10 stars! read more

I have been a customer for many years, love the food and always gave great reviews! For at least the last two years lunch has been $13 (soup, salad, rice & beans + a choice of meat or fish). Today after lunch and being charged $15.65 I asked - Why not $13. Two servers told me that the Pernil went up and now Lunch with Pernil (which I had) was $15.65! Pork shot up the price $2.65! I would like for someone at LaCabana to confirm that a $2.65 raise in cost of lunch was due to rize in cost of pork shoulder! read more

This place is amazing! Tucked away in a corner, it's not that noticeable by the street. But the food is really good at a really good price! We got the $11 lunch special which included a huge bowl of soup, rice, beans, a choice of a green salad or a cucumber salad, and a choice of meat: pork, chicken, beef or fish. There was no wait time for our food because it was already prepared in warm food trays, they just served us the food on plates. When you sit down there's this really spicy sauce with onions that's really intense. I got the beef soup with yuca, stewed chicken, white rice, cucumber salad and beans. My friend got the cheese soup with yellow rice, beans, cucumber salad & pork. We were both stuffed when we finished eating. I was able to take half of my food to go. There wasn't much people eating there at 2pm, and the place was small, but it was inviting. There was a TV playing in the background. When it got time to pay, I showed her a voucher I got on Yelp for $16 for the price of $12. She said it was an old voucher, and she looked kind of confused. Generous portion, for $8 you got arroz (can be mixed between yellow and white rice), salad & bean, and meat (including chicken stew, roasted chicken, pulled pork, that we ordered, but breaded tilapia is also the same price). Delicious food with nothing to complain about. Lots of parking in their own lot. Seating is available indoor and outdoor among simple, no-frills decor and atmosphere. Food was served quickly by friendly staff. We ordered "to go" and ate by the umbrellas outside where there's no crowd at all (for a Saturday lunch). read more

Maybe if you're a regular customer this place is great. We popped in given the reviews and I've never felt so invisible. We couldn't get anyone's attention and I think they forgot about our order after we made it. It took about 35 minutes to get our food. The arroz marinero was a huge plate of rice with 5 mussels and a bit of shrimp mixed in. The lomo was just ok. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. Today July 20th, 2021, 8:20pm will be the last time I come here. I'm applaud at the way my husband was treated. After picking me up from work we called in our order, which was the normal order we get from this establishment. Over the phone he was quoted a wait time of 20mins, which was how long it took to get there. When we arrived she asked for another 20mins because it was busy. We waited a half an hour, because we understood, and we like this place. The second time going in, we were asked to wait an additional 15mins. The third time it was bought to the young ladies attention that we have been waiting. As she walked past my husband with the same exact order we placed, she told her co-worker in spanish....He can wait, and proceeded to ask the other customers if they needed anything else. (Those customers got there and was seated after us..we where parked in a car waiting for 45mins) My husband in spanish said, Gracia, me vio, Beunas noche. (Her co-worker with wide eyes pleaded for him to stay, she would help) He left and we began to drive home. I looked back and said we're is the food. He couldn't bring himself to tell me his experience. When he finally told me, I made him turn around and go back. I asked for the manager, and explained our issues, and he refunded us right away(Thank You) While we were explaining the issue to the manager, the co-work confirmed everything, and she still stood there rolling her eyes at my husband. What I want to know is what did he do to deserve such an exchange. Just to note...this is Not the first time, he felt like they were being racist, and changed thier attitudes once he spoke spanish. Is this common practice in your establishment? This infuriated me so much I had to write this review. Sadden by the treatment we have been getting, and still remained customers. Well no more. Retain your workers, if the service was better, I wouldn't mind the wait but the out right disrespect, I'm not having it, nor do we deserve to be treated this way. I have been here several times, and the food and service have always been great. Based on the semi-sketchy location of this place, you'd figure the prices would be very cheap, but they're not; however, you get your money's worth. The shrimp in garlic/ajillo sauce, which comes with tostones and rice, is spectacular, and their apps, fish, and meat dishes (like the Latin version of chicken-fried steak) are generously-portioned and delicious as well. Unless you're grabbing something from their buffet-style counter, everything is fresh and made-to-order, so entrees can take some time, but it's worth the wait and you can taste the difference. Ordered carne asada and meat was very tough- it was inedible. Ordered the carne frita con yucca-there was no meat, only fat. Also found pieces of aluminum encrusted in the fat. Again, inedible, and when pointed it out to the waitress, due was still going to charge us for it. Went to pay the bill and EVERY DISH was OVERCHARGED by $2. When we complained about the extra charge, we were told that prices changed and that the menu did not reflect the correct pricing. Once we complained about that, they "fixed" the price, but proceeded to add $1.50-$2 per drink. CHECK YOUR BILL! I do NOT recommend this place. read more

This review is over due. Their food is very good it is a small place with a small parking lot, i always get lucky with a patking spot there but they do have street parking. Lunch specials inlcudes soup a drink amd entrée. They also have dinner specials too very affordable and delicious.
