Seafood and rice - so yummy!
Colette H.

Love, love, love this place! I was in the mood for some Peruvian food. My friend lives close to here and she chose this spot. What a great place for lunch! I looked at their menu ahead of time. But when I got there I was in the mood for seafood. I ended up ordering the seafood and rice - what a fantastic option! It was incredible and delicious. It came with mussels, shrimp and calamari. It was perfect and just what I was looking for. I would definitely order this again! I would come back here for sure! The servers were attentive and friendly. I'd highly recommend coming here.

If you think airplane was bad, this place is below that. You'll find spoiled food, expired seal items and not friendly costumer service. Employees will get UPSET at you for complaining about issues. Best place to get reheated food, make sure you call your life insurance before heading there.

Amazing food They have a rotating lunch special everything was made fresh and served quickly. Service was amazing and the waitress was very friendly. I left very satisfied and pleased with the service

This is $17

This place will ignore you if you don't speak Spanish. They will make you wait longer and give you crap for your money.

Wheres the shrimp? :::acitvate bionic eyes::: oh there it is

Unfortunately this will be my last time ordering from this place. Please refer to the extra small shrimp size they have decided to serve with the $16 ceviche mixto dish I ordered. While this isnt the first time, it shall be my last. This is shrimp for lets say chaufa de camaron/ shrimp fried rice...NOT a $16 ceviche!!! There are plenty of other ceviche spots in the area that would never.

Fast service. Extremely large portions for extremely low prices. And the food is so good. I cant wait to go back to try more of their dishes.

We came here, do to the amazing ratings this place was given, for lunch. When we arrived we stood by the door and the waitresses were behind the counter did not say anything to us. So we went and sat down to the nearest table. The place did not seem too busy, I noticed 4 waitresses (2 behind the counter and 2 going to tables). There were only 3 tables occupied (including mine). The woman came to take our order did not speak English, it was fine I translated for my husband, but for an only English speaker that would be an inconvenience. My husband wanted rotisserie chicken, the woman said they ran out of chicken. So my husband order a whole chicken and I ordered French fries and breaded shrimp. We sat and waited for our drinks, which took a while to get to our table. A police officer walked in and immediately greeted and seated. I guess he had notified them he was coming because his food was ready in 20 minutes. Then another older gentleman came in and sat down at the table behind me and his order came after 15 minutes, the shocking part of that was that the older gentleman ordered a rotisserie chicken (which the woman earlier told us they ran out of). Our food did not come out until 1 hour later. I've never waisted my time like this. The food was room temperature and dry. Do not come here!

Delicious!!! I'm so glad that I've found a Peruvian restaurant in town. Prices are reasonable, portions are big. My 9 year old is a picky eater and absolutely loves it here.

Great Peruvian food. Our favorite dish, "El Bistec del Pobre" - steak, rice, ripe plantain, and eggs- yum.

Ordering takeout should be a seamless transaction, yet the front-of-house execution faltered. Despite no visible queue, staff attention drifted more toward the television than the customers entering the establishment. That distraction proved consequential: a canned Coke included with my order was omitted, requiring an unnecessary return to the counter to retrieve it. It's a small detail, but in hospitality, small details are the entire game. The meal itself began on a stronger note. The octopus side dish delivered a pleasing depth of flavor--well-seasoned and enjoyable. However, its presentation undercut the experience. The octopus was sliced so thinly that its identity became almost abstract; one had to search for it rather than appreciate it. A dish like this should celebrate its main ingredient, not obscure it. Still, on taste alone, it earns a respectable 4 out of 5. The rotisserie chicken with fried rice and sweet plantains told a more uneven story. The chicken was competently cooked--juicy enough, structurally sound--but conspicuously lacking in seasoning. It felt like a missed opportunity, a canvas left largely blank. The fried rice, on the other hand, was executed with precision, each grain distinct and properly cooked. The plantains were serviceable, though unremarkable. This plate settles at a 3.5 out of 5. A notable disappointment was the restaurant's much-touted green sauce. Instead of enhancing the dish, it diluted it--both literally and figuratively. Its watery consistency stripped it of impact, and while it carried heat, it lacked balance and depth, leaving behind more sharpness than flavor. In sum, this is a restaurant with potential but inconsistent delivery. It's worth a visit if you find yourself nearby, but not a destination worth going out of your way for. With more attentive service and a stronger hand in seasoning--particularly on the chicken--the kitchen could easily elevate its offerings into something memorable. Overall experience: 4 out of 5.

I love Peruvian cuisine and finally checked this place out on Sunday. She also handled the take-out orders, Hardworking girl! I ordered the Chufa Mixto which is Peruvian fried rice with beef, chicken and shrimp. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was so generous, I got dinner out of it too. The atmosphere was cozy and had a wonderful Peruvian flavor. I can't wait to go back and try something else. The rice was delicious with a generous portion of meat accompanying the well flavoured rice dish. The soup however was very poor, it basically tasted like garlic water with overcooked egg and dry chicken, quite a feat considering it was encapsulated by liquid. There was zero depth of flavour, the noodles and what I assume was yucca pieces in there were both mushy and lacked any bite or texture. A real 1/10 of dish that went largely uneaten. Especially egregious was the fact that this soup, whilst a generous portion, had very little meat in it and was $16! The people were very nice and pleasant and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing because the fried rice dish was excellent.

The rice in the paella was absolutely delicious and there was a good assortment of seafood. My only criticism if any was that it was a little bit oily as we worked our way down to the bottom of the dish. We ate plenty each and had plenty to take home. We then decided to try the desserts. I had the bread pudding or Tres Luce (spelling?) and she had the flan. Both were delicious but unfortunately, towards the bottom of each, we discovered that they had just recently been frozen. They hadn't quite thawed out at the bottom! The service was excellent - warm and inviting. I wish I could've given an extra star, but between the frozen deserts decide and the oily paella I couldn't.

My young friend wanted to take me to her new "favorite taco place". I was shocked when we ended up at Mancora, which is (supposedly) Peruvian. But what do I know? We also got a bowl of guac which was surprisingly inexpensive and delicious. The tacos come in two's, so note to self, TWO IS ENOUGH! I ordered 4, and sent the extras home with her. I'm not sure how these would do as take-out, whether they'd get soggy or not. If you can go off-peak, you might be better off dining in. The good- their lomo Saltado and chaufa are spot on and delicious. Their pollo ala brasa is my kids favorite and we regularly order it on Wednesdays when they do their special. Everyone is very friendly but all don't speak English great (luckily my husband is Spanish so we always manage). We have been longtime customers- back to when they were under a different name (flavor point) and across the other side of Meriden. The cons- prices have gone up and portions seem much smaller. My lomo last time barely had any steak. The last time we went for 2 adults and 2 kids (one who only ate a side of rice) it was well over $100 before tip- no apps just meals and 2 drinks. There is no kids menu and nothing they can do to accommodate so you are buying your 2-5 year old a $20 meal they will eat a few bites of . Their pollo ala brasa is not always available- which I get but weekends I feel like it should be and we have gone twice now and had it be unavailable. my son will literally not eat anything else on the menu (as noted no kids options either). He had to sit there and not eat while we ate and get him food from across the way afterwards. One time we got the ceviche and I know the lime juice cooks the fish (believe me I eat ceviche regularly as well as sushi) and this fish was raw. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said it was fine. I couldn't eat it. But still had to pay for the dish which is high priced for the small serving. Cute atmosphere but small so can fill up quickly. Careful in bathroom , had gone a few times and almost fell from slick floor. It was clean but slick- maybe what they're using to clean it.

So I try to explore new places and avoid repeating spots I know. I've eaten at Lima 32 three times since January. Lima 32 is a small casual Peruvian spot located in a very small plaza in Meriden. Parking is tough, but they've done a nice job with the aesthetics inside. Lima 32 is also available on DoorDash within a certain area. I've now had the Lomo Saltado, the Arroz Con Marisco and the Chaufa de Pollo. Best Lomo Saltado I've ever had, and I've had a really expensive one at a famous CT spot. It's basically a beef and veggie stir fry. You can see the chef making it with fire in the pan if you have the right seat. The soy and oyster sauce based glaze is good salty. So flavorful and everything is perfectly cooked. Best Arroz Con Marisco I've ever had. It's a saucy Peruvian paella. The sauce (Aji Amarillo) has a well rounded creamy pepper flavor. The seafood, like crab, mussels and shrimp really stand out. I suspect the seafood varies depending on what's available. The Chaufa de Pollo, a Chinese fried rice style dish, was very good too. Huge pieces of chicken. Eat it with the delicious Aji Verde sauce. Is Lima 32 hidden? I don't know. But it sure the hell is a gem. It's must visit. 5 Stars

It being happy hour, my dad ordered two cocktails listed there. When the bill came we were charged full price for these. The catch on this menu: it is for "bar and lounge only." We were apparently in the restaurant, not the lounge. Why would they put the happy hour menu on the table where it's not available to be served, we asked ? We asked our server, who told us "I don't know anything about that, that's just what the owner does." She was apologetic only when pushed on it and offered for us to talk to the manager, Jennifer. "Hi, I heard you had something to say about the happy hour menu," Jennifer said as she came over. We explained that we thought it was unfair that these menus would sit on every table in the room where it's not allowed. The difference was $8 for the two cocktails. I asked if she would honor the price and she said she couldn't, because "you guys are the first people to ever say anything." Hopefully we are the last. See the picture of the menu. For $8 and an apology for the confusion she could have saved three customers. Food was really good. But we left with an awful taste in our mouths over this because no one would take the initiative to fix this problem.
