We asked our waiter if we could have an additional tartar sauce and when we received the bill noticed he charged us $2 without informing us there would be a charge for something that should of come with our meal. We spoke to the waiter so we could get a better understanding of why we were charged and he stated his manager said he must charge. It may sound petty to some but $130 for lunch for two and then have management penny pinch for something that should have been given with the meal makes you not want to return to this establishment. Overall the food and service is ok but this is not acceptable behavior.

Popped in here for a lunch order, got the Peruvian fried rice and their take on chicken noodle…read moresoup. The rice was delicious with a generous portion of meat accompanying the well flavoured rice dish. The soup however was very poor, it basically tasted like garlic water with overcooked egg and dry chicken, quite a feat considering it was encapsulated by liquid. There was zero depth of flavour, the noodles and what I assume was yucca pieces in there were both mushy and lacked any bite or texture. A real 1/10 of dish that went largely uneaten. Especially egregious was the fact that this soup, whilst a generous portion, had very little meat in it and was $16! The people were very nice and pleasant and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing because the fried rice dish was excellent.

I love Peruvian cuisine and finally checked this place out on Sunday. There was one server on duty, I believe her name was Laura, but she was attentive and kept an eye on all the tables with guests, while clearing away the empty tables and making them ready for the next customers. She also handled the take-out orders, Hardworking girl! I ordered the Chufa Mixto which is Peruvian fried rice with beef, chicken and shrimp. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was so generous, I got dinner out of it too. The atmosphere was cozy and had a wonderful Peruvian flavor. I can't wait to go back and try something else. A cozy, friendly and very affordable little restaurant with really good food and generous portions.

The food was absolutely outstanding--the Ceviche was incredibly fresh with the perfect citrus zing, and the Lomo Saltado was tender, smoky, and seasoned to perfection. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without being intrusive. They offered great recommendations on the menu made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. The rice in the paella was absolutely delicious and there was a good assortment of seafood. My only criticism if any was that it was a little bit oily as we worked our way down to the bottom of the dish. We ate plenty each and had plenty to take home. We then decided to try the desserts. I had the bread pudding or Tres Luce (spelling?) and she had the flan. Both were delicious but unfortunately, towards the bottom of each, we discovered that they had just recently been frozen. They hadn't quite thawed out at the bottom! The service was excellent - warm and inviting. I wish I could've given an extra star, but between the frozen deserts decide and the oily paella I couldn't.

Their skirt steak and lomo saltado are amazing, shrimp burrito very tasty, and you absolutely must end with the churros. My biggest complaint is service is slow which is strange because I've never seen it busy and it can get frustrating waiting around for someone. And though the decor and space is really nice, the lack of people doesn't make for a fun and/or lively atmosphere which I find really important for any restaurant experience.

My young friend wanted to take me to her new "favorite taco place". I was shocked when we ended up at Mancora, which is (supposedly) Peruvian. But what do I know? When in Rome do as the Romans, right? So at her urging I ordered Carnitas Tacos (roasted pork yummies), and she ordered Pollo Tacos (chicken, hold the tomatoes!) We also got a bowl of guac which was surprisingly inexpensive and delicious. The tacos come in two's, so note to self, TWO IS ENOUGH! I ordered 4, and sent the extras home with her. I'm not sure how these would do as take-out, whether they'd get soggy or not. If you can go off-peak, you might be better off dining in. We did go in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, and were the only ones in the restaurant for a while. So eyes wide open on this place. Try it, you might get lucky.

Something about the sign aesthetic made me think it would be a good place. I Yelp-Searched it, and Lima 32 damn near had a perfect rating based on less than 50 reviews. I'm a Food Blogger. So I try to explore new places and avoid repeating spots I know. I've eaten at Lima 32 three times since January. Lima 32 is a small casual Peruvian spot located in a very small plaza in Meriden. Parking is tough, but they've done a nice job with the aesthetics inside. Lima 32 is also available on DoorDash within a certain area. I've now had the Lomo Saltado, the Arroz Con Marisco and the Chaufa de Pollo. Best Lomo Saltado I've ever had, and I've had a really expensive one at a famous CT spot. It's basically a beef and veggie stir fry. You can see the chef making it with fire in the pan if you have the right seat. The soy and oyster sauce based glaze is good salty. So flavorful and everything is perfectly cooked. Best Arroz Con Marisco I've ever had. It's a saucy Peruvian paella. The sauce (Aji Amarillo) has a well rounded creamy pepper flavor. The seafood, like crab, mussels and shrimp really stand out. I suspect the seafood varies depending on what's available. The Chaufa de Pollo, a Chinese fried rice style dish, was very good too. Huge pieces of chicken. Eat it with the delicious Aji Verde sauce. Is Lima 32 hidden? I don't know. But it sure the hell is a gem. It's must visit. 5 Stars
