    Mixed grill

We picked El Bambu because of it's proximity to the Paramount Theater and were so pleased. I felt like I walked into a family restaurant in Guatemala! We were greeted warmly. Service was excellent. Menu, diversified. Corn tortillas handmade and served warm. Tried the mixed grill. Can imagine many returns!!

Garlic shrimp & tostado, plantain+ guacamole+ spiced ground beef, Mixed grill; steak+ chorizo+ chicken + shrimp, savory chicken ranchero.

Always a pleasure seeing the staff and eating at El Bambu. We love the new specialities added to the menu. It's a cheerful ambiance with bright colors from Guatemala. My favorite place in Peekskill.

Came with my kids and mom - daughter said she wished we could give more than 5 stars, son ate every shred of cabbage from the curtido that came with his pupusas. We also got 2 desayuno chapin, and a chicken sándwich. Everyone licked their plates clean, refried beans were hot fresh and perfectly seasoned, tortillas were made to order, so fresh and hot and corn-licious!

Great food, well priced, charming service. Stepped out of our comfort zone and tried this tiny Guatemalan restaurant. Glad I did

The waitress was so sweet and friendly, and though she didn't speak a lot of English, she still made us feel very welcome. The food was AMAZING! We had never had Ecuadorian food before, and will definitely be coming back. The portions are HUGE, and the prices are sooo cheap especially given how much meat and seafood was on our plates! We got: 1. Pollo Cabaña: It was a little salty but soooo flavorful and it came with so much rice!! The chicken was really tender, and the plantain was grilled perfectly. Yum!! 2. Camarones Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) w Tostones (Green Plantains): The tostones we're delicious!!! Especially with the sauce, which was amazing and so garlicky and flavorful. Both the shrimp and the rice pair well with the sauce, which is so intense and packs a flavor punch! 3. Sopa de Mariscos (Seafood Soup): I was so impressed by how much seafood was in the soup-it came with generous portions of crab, mussels and shrimp, and the rice noodles in the soup were tender and delicious. I can't even describe the flavor of the soup, but it's creamy and not too fishy and tasty. 4. Mar y Tierra (Grilled Meats): This came with SO much meat-beef, chicken, fish, and shrimp! The beans that came on the side were flavorful and delicious with the rice, and the meat-especially the chicken-was perfectly grilled and juicy. 5. Carne Apanada: This was breaded beef, and it was thinly pounded and so crispy and yummy!! Even the white rice that came with several of the dishes was flavorful-it had coconut milk in it, I think. They put so much effort into all the dishes and little details. I am so impressed!! You should pay with cash to avoid the 4% card fee, and the parking lot is very tight, so prepare for that! But if you want an authentic, delicious meal, this is your place!! 10000/10 stars!

Two servers told me that the Pernil went up and now Lunch with Pernil (which I had) was $15.65! Pork shot up the price $2.65! I would like for someone at LaCabana to confirm that a $2.65 raise in cost of lunch was due to rize in cost of pork shoulder!

Both catered to the Guatemalan and Ecuadorian palates. The downside is food that has an irresponsible amount of sodium that sits on a steam table uncovered at temperatures below legal regulations. You can see the food and point at what you you want to eat. A restaurant like this will charge you what they feel like so the prices are different daily(if you are an American and do not know better) The staff I only come here at night and the staff are the number one reason I avoid this place My most recent visit which was a few hours ago I felt like I was in the breakfast line at Rikers island. No hello no how are you no what would you like,no please no thank you. No explanation etc. just slam splat container closed food rung up And of course not a word spoken after you pay and the person serving just disappeared. Amount of people in the restaurant 1: me Yes they get busy and no they really don't care about bad reviews. Not at all. I pretty much come here because I hate McDonalds or it's too late for Chinese or a quality Ecuadorian restaurant. I believe this place considers itself Guatemalan but seriously in Peekskill they have become synonymous . Check it or don't they could care less.
