This is a quaint spot in the center of town with some really great tacos. My favorite is the cod tacos but the crispy shrimp ones are good too. The service is attentive and very friendly. A great spot when you want a light meal and a great drink. They have some good mixologists shaking up some really good concoctions!

This review is overdue from the summer. A few of us from an improv class came here before our show and grabbed a table on the rooftop. The vibe up there was great -- relaxed and fun. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share: guacamole, yucca fries, ceviche, and birria tacos. Everything was really good -- so flavorful and fresh. The food took a little while to come out, but it was worth the wait. Portions were generous -- five of us couldn't even finish everything. Honestly, I don't think I could pick a favorite because all the dishes were delicious. I'd definitely come back. I often see this place crowded at night and I see why.

Drinks

The food was very tasty, the drinks were also strong and delicious. They had some cute instagramable picture photo ops. They have a rooftop bar area although it was raining and it is not covered. The service was attentive. I was not a huge fan of their bar menu as they could not make a few of the different drinks we wanted and they were out of some alcohol. The tacos were delicious, but you can't mix and match. My friend and I shared the salmon and the chicken tacos. We both liked the chicken better with its marinade. It was a little bit more expensive than I'm used to paying for tacos and guac, but we were in a downtown area. Parking was a pain and you have to pay for Street parking even blocks away. The bathrooms were pretty decent.

Didn't expect such flavorful dishes my compliments to the chef from appetizers to full course meal loved it. Had the salmon with mashed potatoes, crispy asparagus and this delicious pinkish sauce-the pork belly with guacamole and succulents onions on top wow that was real good -everything I put in my mouth was delicious. Can't wait to go back -our server Gabby so sweet and pleasant thank you Gabby great service. Loved that it was a rooftop setting so we got to enjoy this beautiful sunny day .

Come on.. The Jamaica drink was almos pure Sugar!!! I water it down!!! The service was very nice bit Not attentive At All, we have to ask the other waiters/ bartender for help Its a nice place , but they need to work a little more for the prices The Price 14 dollars for a small corn and chorizo 28 dollars for the carne Asada Two salmon tacos 14 dollars Over all It wax nice, but not great

I would be remissed if I didn't tell the story ! Taco District as well as its Brother restaurant, the Ironvine are by far the best eateries in Peekskill and the Hudson Valley!

Stopped in here during their first week open! Welcome to Peekskill! I've been following the construction and planning of this restaurant on their Instagram page and was really anticipating their opening. They are owned by the same family who owns The Iron Vine (around the corner). The family is Guatemalan and the restaurant is being billed as Guatemalan fusion. The decor is beautiful - fun and modern, and features art by local artist Scott Garrette. Taco District is two floors and has a rooftop deck with a beautiful mural, which will be so fantastic when the weather gets warmer. We were surprised at how busy it was when we walked in, and we were fine sitting at the bar, so they took us up to the 2nd floor bar. Siena was our bartender and we ordered two drinks: - Oaxaca the Hudson (play on words of "A walk on the Hudson?" cute!), which was a mezacal-bourbon drink and quite tasty. - Cucumber Mezcalita (cucumber, lime, ginger syrup, passionfruit) - really refreshing and light For an appetizer we ordered the pork belly bites (I didnt realize they would be fried), which were served with a side of guacamole. A LOT of guacamole! The flavors were really really yummy, but the pork itself was a tad dry. For tacos, we ordered three (they come with two each). I ordered the shrimp, which was served with a delicious cream sauce. My husband ordered the birria (really delicious flavors, but again a tad dry) and the chorizo (which had street corn in the taco as well). The tortillas were delicious, maybe handmade? I like that they were corn tortillas instead of flour. Great flavor, more authentic, and good to know if you are someone who needs gluten-free options. The flavors of all the food were delicious; it took a little while for the food to come out, and the proteins were a tiny bit dry but it's also their 4th day of being open and I want to take that into account! I will definitely go back!

Yuka fries

Food was great! Drinks tasty. Had the loaded yuka, which was so tasty and savory. Carne asada taco was packed with flavor. Salmon taco, which was recommended was ok. Drinks I had the dragon fruit mojito which was amazing ! My wife had some champagne mojito with passion fruit it wasn't a favorite. Overall, would come back. Went on a Sunday, no crowd and very available. Whoever advertises outside is a creeper and should learn not to be so aggressive. Not sure if affiliated with this actual business or the others in the neighborhood.

Margaritas

A very charming restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. The seating arrangement was a bit tight, as we were close to the other diners, but that's the only downside. The margaritas were delightful, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I'd definitely return to check out the rooftop!

My friend and me decided to check out this place since I was staying in the area. We sat outside and it was beautiful! The waitress was nice and told us about the live music Thursday to Sunday after 7. The music was perfect!! The food was awesome! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a modern day Mexican spot to come here. Next door is a more traditional Mexican restaurant. I think all the different flavors made for great food!

Lene T.

The host and server were the sweetest! I ordered the pork belly and the classic margarita. Highly recommended !

Delicious food and friendly waitress. A new favorite of my husband. We ate on the open air roof top. Great for a summer evening.

I always ask "what's good today?", he always replies, "everything!" Then I give my considerations, "it's between the Cuban or tacos" of which he replied "Cuban". I agreed, let's do it. It was snowing and cold. I guess I could've waited in my car but I chose to take in the scenery and stand next to the small propane heater Octavio generously placed outside his trailer. The food came out after maybe 7 min, not long. I quickly shuffled back to my car and got on the road. I opened the tray while driving through the winding Bear Mountain, probably not the smartest thing I've ever done. But this guy was hungry. First we have to try a fry. Crisp, seasoned well and delicious. I wanted to take a bite of the sandwich. It was going to be a chore while driving. The bread looked so good. I could see ham, pork and pickle sticking out the side and I needed a bite. I took a mental note of the tray. I kept my left hand on the steering wheel and my eyes on the road. I reached down w my right hand, grabbed the sandwich and took a monster bite. YUCK A BIG CHUNK OF PORK FAT. I spit it out and ate the rest of the bite. It was good, really good BUT it had a Smokey taste that I didn't love. It wasn't bad, just not my cup of tea. In any event the ingredients were fresh, the bread was toasted and crispy, the fries with the little tub of ketchup were just right. I enjoyed the lunch and look forward to my next trip to Octavios.
