I'm not a Colombian food expert, so I can't say if it was traditional or not. But we really liked what we had!! We had a few empanadas as appetizers. They were really good. Nice crispy outside, and stuffed full on the inside. We could tell they were freshly handmade. They were clearly not frozen. The coffee is perfect. It had a robust coffee flavor. Not a bitter or burnt flavor, but a full coffee flavor, with a slight hint of cocoa. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They know all the dishes. I wasn't sure what to order. I told the waitress I was really hungry and asked what's popular. She suggested Calentado. It's a dish with eggs, rice & beans, meat, and cheese topped arepa. Meat choices are chicken, steak, ground beef, or chorizo. I tried the chicken. The waitress recommended scrambled eggs with onions and peppers. Our food came out very quickly. The plates of food were enormous. Each plate had enough food for two people. And everything was great! They have a large assortment of pastries and desserts up front. Unfortunately, I was too full to try any. They seem to be very popular in the neighborhood. While we ate, we noticed the staff joke around with people who popped in for coffee, sandwiches, or desserts. There are a lot of regulars. Tables, counters, and floors are clean. Take out refrigerators are stocked well. Popular music plays at proper levels. Loud enough that you can hear it, but not so loud that you can't hear each other. We will definitely be back again for breakfast. We will also come back for lunch, dinner, and desserts. Check it out if you're in the area.

The sampler has a variety of Shrimp and Fish Ceviche and all were really good. The Sampler is actually good for 4-5 people as the quantity is pretty generous. Talking about generosity, when our main dishes arrived, there was no way each dish is for one person. The portions are simply huge! We ordered the Lomo and Pollo Saltado and just to mix it in we also ordered the Chicken Chaufa. If I was to pick one dish from them all I would certainly go with the Chaufa as the taste and the way the spices are mixed in with the rice and chicken, it was very tasty. I do need to mention how good their Aji is. Spicy and perfect to go with the bread and the rice.

The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and served on authentic corn tortillas with the traditional onion and cilantro toppings. While this isn't my absolute favorite tacos around, I do prefer this location over Casa Villa's other Stamford restaurant. The ambiance here is much nicer, with tasteful decor and a great outdoor patio that's perfect for enjoying a meal when the weather is nice. My only real complaint was the salsa. I'm a fan of traditional salsa verde, and their creamy version just wasn't for me. Other than that, the food was good, the vibe was welcoming, and the Tuesday special made it an even better value. Overall, it's a good spot for tacos, a relaxed atmosphere, and a casual meal with friends or family. I'd def come back on Taco Tuesday!

The inside dining area is more upscale than their more casual outdoor seating area. Upon arrival, the hostess wished me "happy birthday," but that was the only mention of it for the remainder of my visit. The menu includes raw bar items, hot shellfish appetizers, salads, bowls and wraps. However, their main feature is the "Naked Fish." This allows you to choose the type of fish, its preparation, and an accompanying sauce. I chose the branzino, grilled, and with salsa verde. The presentation was absolutely beautiful! The sear on the fish skin was perfectly crisp, the julienned vegetables were well-seasoned, and the sauce had a nice spiciness. Paired with a crisp white wine, it was a delicious dinner! The service was "adequate." The staff who brought bread and my meal to the table were friendlier and more attentive than my server. Perhaps she had too many tables to attend to, but she never asked me how my meal was, and only inquired if I wanted another glass of wine when I was ready for the check. Overall, I was very happy with my meal. However, I expected a little more attentiveness from my server, and perhaps an offer of something special for my birthday.
