The inside of the restaurant is decently sized, clean, and even has a space where you can host a DJ, which is a nice touch. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't a big issue. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my to-go order since the hostess/server was the only one working outside of the kitchen staff. I ordered the MOFONGO MIXTO (Mixed Mofongo), which is crispy green plantains mashed with garlic and olive oil, paired with chicharrón, chicken, or cheese. It was solid--rich, tasty, and especially delicious with the salsa blanco, which was creamy and garlicky. That sauce was a first for me, and I loved it! While I've had mofongo that included rice and beans elsewhere, this version stood on its own nicely. A couple of notes: parking is a bit challenging, and I'd recommend placing your order through an app to help navigate any potential language barriers. Overall, a good experience, and I'd definitely give it another shot!

The chivo guisado was extremely juicy and the meat was so tender - falling off the bone. The pico pollo was great too and very well seasoned. Portions sizes were generous with very reasonable prices too. The staff are very friendly too. It's a nice place to come and enjoy some authentic Dominican food with some bottles of Presidente or cocktails. I recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Too much rice in every plate and not enough beans though. I really do t know if during lunch time all that food was freshly cooked and juicy and just got dried up by dinner time. I might give it another chance if I am in the area and super hungry, cos it was generously served.

You can feel the pride behind the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The owners, Griselda and Rafael, were incredibly kind and helpful. I don't eat meat, and they immediately listened to what I was looking for and recommended the shrimp in garlic sauce. I've had this dish at a lot of Central American and Latin restaurants, and this was easily one of the richest, most flavorful versions I've ever had. The garlic sauce had so much depth, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The tostones were also outstanding. My wife loves tostones, so we've had them plenty of times, and these were some of the freshest and best we've had, perfectly salted, crisp, and the plantain was cooked exactly right. Not mushy, not hard, just perfect. Their fresh juices were also incredible and absolutely worth ordering. The vibe of the restaurant is a huge part of the experience. It feels authentic, lively, and welcoming, and even the artwork inside and outside is worth stopping to see. The restaurant was busy with people coming in for what looked like buffet-style Dominican food, but my dish was cooked fresh in the back and still came out super fast. Another moment that stood out was when I noticed there were no empanadas de queso left. Griselda kindly told me it would only take a minute to make one fresh for me, and it came out perfect, especially with their house-made green sauce. My only small suggestion would be to add a hotter, punchier red sauce for people like me who love extra heat and want even more of a kick. But overall, this place is a gem. If you're looking for authentic Dominican food, Latin cuisine, fresh juices, tostones, shrimp in garlic sauce, empanadas, and genuinely kind service, Mami's Latin Cuisines Restaurant is absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommend.
