Ahhh La Bufadora I have been here about a dozen times. Pros: The new colorful Ensenada sign is an awesome photo opportunity. New higher view area is a great addition. It blows every 15-20 seconds so you can get a nice selfie!!! Cons: Each time its more and more filled with merchants. This last time I felt as if I was waking through downtown Los Angeles Santee Alleys (but with guys yelling I will get you **^*up) and Viagra man and cups with anatomical parts to them. So if you are going with kids just be warned they will see and hear stuff. It's a family place and it seems that they have done there best to make it uncomfortable for all. read more

Such a beautiful place and I was lucky to have visited when the weather conditions were perfect! There weren't that many people so that was a plus! Walking past all the small shops was fun and especially getting free samples of piña coladas on a hot day! The geyser provided small splashes of water to cool off. The shops heading to the blowhole were such a fun experience! I especially liked the taco shop on the corner , we took a shuttle there and the taco shop was the first thing we saw.We enjoyed negotiating with the vendors but be aware that you need cash because many vendors don't take cards also if you want to use a restroom all restrooms are anywhere from .50 to 1.00 per person. When we reached the blowhole it was pretty neat I'd more than likely take the kayak route the next time so that I can get a closer look but it's definitely worth the trip! read more

This definitely was a bucket list type of place you have to at least see once in your lifetime . The view is amazing and experience is just priceless ! There are shops all along the way you'll want to bring pesos because not only do they not really give you the value of the dollar but also things are charged more if they know you are not from Mexico ... Also it doesn't hurt to shop around I noticed some people have outrageous prices for souvenirs but a few shops down they were cheaper. read more

The blowhole is very cool as a natural phenomenon, and much appreciated by the mostly local visitors. But to see it you have to run the gauntlet of a hundred tourist shops manned by hyper aggressive men up in your face selling whatever. After you walk by they say "cabron," which means "dumbass," like gringos are too stupid to understand Spanish. I've been all over Mexico for 50 years and met many wonderful people. The vendors at la bufadora we're not in that class. read more

Don't go around 3pm! It's a long drive with traffic and the tide is low so you'll get the "Bufa"minus the "Dora". Go early if you want to see this site. Bring the standard 10 pesos for the restroom and plenty of "No Gracias" for the trek through the gauntlet of market items for sale. Other than that the scenery on the drive is priceless. Getting there is not quite half the fun. We opted to take the on-shore tour bus to La Bufadora rather than the excursion from the Princess Cruise (California Coastal Cruise). It was considerably cheaper, but the day was hot and humid and the A/C on the "budget" tour bus was not working well that day. Regardless, we got there and saw the cruise excursion bus which looked much more comfy. Anyway, about La Bufadora... One needs to be there at the optimum time to see the best show, but not sure what that would be, high tide, full moon, whatever. However, the show we got was good. You have to wait for a few smaller jets of water before you get one of the full effect sprays. An interesting natural experience, but with no fee. There is parking on the way down to the area, but getting through the street traffic is very time consuming. And, speaking of time consuming, the walk down to La Bufadora is quite long (not measured), but be wary of prices at the multitude of shops! We saw the same item offered at one end of the shop walk at 4 times the price as another place. My suggestion is to "window shop" on the way down to La Bufadora and ask about prices, then stop at the best price stores on the way back up the road. And, be sure to bargain! Never, ever pay full price, and half their first offer! read more

To say that the street vendors are aggressive is an understatement. You can't walk 5 feet without someone pushing their junk on you. I did make a couple purchases and was able to negotiate the price so remember to not pay what they ask. Just tell them no and start to walk away and the price will drop. This was my second time there and it seems to have gotten worse. I believe the drive to get there is longer now. We may have taken a detour due to road construction. La Bufadora itself is worth seeing once. Maybe not twice. read more

I love everything about here. I was just in awe.... The water blow!!! It made such a distinctive sound every time the water blew up so high! It was also a very fun experience on the way to get to the cave hole where it creates constant water blows: you pass the flea market full of entertainment, activities, & good food. There are several baby lions you can hug & take photos with, I think it's like 45$. My husband scared me after seeing their nails going in & out, discouraging me to go ahead and take a picture with them. Now I regret so much that I didn't. Oh, their fresh yellow bread is also so good. At the end of the flea market, right before you reach the blow hole, they sell clams: super good! I had clams with shrimp and cheese: light, fresh, & delightful with the best view and spring sea breeze.... What could you expect more? I'm coming back!! ^______^v FYI, we three people took a taxi from Ensenada downtown. We bargained to 35$ for round trip. The taxi driver was very generous and kind enough to wait for us about an hour in Bufadora parking lot. We ended up paying 40$ including the tip. read more

I wished I would've taken the time to read reviews before I went to La Bufadora. La Bufadora has a beautiful view of the ocean and the blowhole is worth seeing if you haven't seen one yet. Beware of the vendors! They are very aggressive and some will take advantage. I will not come here again for the shopping. read more

We arrived into Ensenada via cruise ship and on the shuttle into town, the shuttle company also had tours to La Bufadora. We booked through them for only $15/person - great deal! Our guide gave us a great overview of Ensenada on the way there. There are hundreds of vendors there with everything imaginable. We did a small amount of shopping - make sure you barter! La Bufadora was really cool - make sure you get wet, it's good luck! Fun day for just a little $$$. read more

This area has been transformed into a terrific open-market place for all kinds of Mexican goods. And they BARGAIN BARGAIN BARGAIN!!! The blowhole wasn't blowing too well when we were there but it still was interesting to go check it out. It was at the end of the open-air market place. Anyway, we bought an expensive "knock-off" purse and matching wallet. Also a man's leather wallet, silver bracelets, leather belt, vanilla extra and expensive sunglasses .... all for real cheap!! The most "tacky" thing there was paying the lady $.50 cents to use the bathroom. I got no problem with that except her stand was right outside the door to the men's and ladies room where she and her amigos could hear every intimate detail of people doing their dirty deeds right around the open door! I guess, whatever floats your boat and anything for a few bucks! Bring lots of cash, very few places there could run a VISA card. read more

The blowhole wasn't that great of a sight, but atleast the freshly made tacos were cheap and probably the best tacos I've ever tried. This is a must visit if you come to this area. In order to get to the site you have to walk through a 1/2 mile flea market. The staff are trying to entice you to visit their individual stands. Some are reasonable and if not you have to bargain them down to a better price. If you have time I would advise you to visit several stands to see the difference in price people are willing to sale the items for in order to ensure your not being taken for a pricey ride. One place that will definitely give you a decent bargain with a little coaxing is "Victors Curios" (Talk to Francisco Tejerano). If enjoying a tour through one of the cruises, you may have the pleasure of meeting this female tour guide (name forgotten) that knows a lot about the land. Enjoy your visit. read more

The blow hole was interesting and when we were there the sprays were huge. Obviously this is an attraction that cannot do an on demand performances so if you are there when it is quite calm, there won't be much to see but the beautiful coastline. The reason I gave such a poor rating is because of all the trashy buildings, structures and souvenirs that lined the walk to the coast. It just perplexing that humans would want to junk up such a beautiful area. Most of the stalls all seemed to be peddling the same stuff and the tour guide spent almost 40 minutes explaining how to not be ripped off buying silver and leather. I don't buy knock off bags as it is an illegal practice and have read the serious repercussions it has in the market place. Worst of all, were the caged animals. One guy claimed his baby lion cub was going to go to a protected sanctuary so if we gave him money it was for the cub's own good. "Don't trust the guy down the path, he is doing it for show." Are you kidding me? I didn't trust ANYONE there and was not going to give anyone a penny. Sure enough down the road, there was another cub so young you wanted to cry as you know it pined for its mother. In the touristy restaurant we were told to dine at, sat a caged monkey shrieking with displeasure. Had I known these types of activities were included in the blow hole tour, I would have never gone. read more

I was here over the Labor Day weekend. One of the many places I visited. It had been over a decade since I had been here. It has done a complete 180. The Bufadora is another beautiful creation of Mother Nature; 5+ stars. I know it was a busy weekend filled with tourists but it was chaotic. There's an abandoned building right above the rocks of this beautiful phenomenon, what a shame. Instead of protecting it, the authorities have converted it into a commercial location filled with merchants that sell you overpriced food, drinks and memorabilia. On this day, there were drunk people everywhere and they were just trashing the place littering on the pathways and throwing their alcohol cans into the Pacific. I noticed that a lot of the people littering were Americans (spoke English), Hispanic-Americans to be exact. What makes them think it's okay to do this here? I was very aggravated, as soon as I was able to see the Bufadora, I soaked in the beauty and got back to my car as soon as I was able to walk thru the intoxicated crowd. I only saw one police officer telling the people to get off the rocks, which are dangerously above the Bufadora. It's sad to say but, I will never be back. read more

This place is overrated. The constant bombardment from retailers being so rude even to one another.. and the restaurant that has the baby tiger's and other exotic babies behind a glass wall leading into the restaurant.
