The sand is soft, plenty of shells along the water if you want to collect some. Watch out for horse poop O_O People ride horses and walk dogs all through out the day. There's a guy offering rides on his motorized hang glider as well. When the weather is clear, you can see the sleeping man island in the distance. I'm ready to go back!!

Quite hairy at times getting there. And on a narrow two way road overlooking the ocean. Beautiful views though. After arriving at La Bufadora's parking lot, a huge shoutout to the driver for getting us there safely. And before stepping off the bus our guide Roxanne gave us a prep talk on what to expect. Of course its main destination is their famous blowhole. While the taco spot Lidia's Grill is also extremely popular. Riders were even given the option of bringing their tacos back to the bus to enjoy while riding back to Ensenada. But before reaching that very popular blowhole, we were given advice about first weaving our way through the huge marketplace and its very aggressive hawkers. "If not interested just ignore them." Think LA's Olvera Street on steroids if you've ever been there. And much larger, at least a quarter of a mile in length with everything imaginable being offered. But Roxanne boldly guided us through and finally we reached the blowhole and the beautiful scenery overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Then you're left to take in the views on your own. Just remember to head back to the bus to reboard by 2:10 for our return bus ride back to the port. And conditions were right for amazing bursts of waves from the blowhole. While some spent almost the entire time at Lidia's putting in and awaiting their taco orders. It's that popular.

Everybody knows about it so don't think that you will…read morebe surfing alone, but the lineup can accommodate a good number of people and when it is working the sets can mix it up pretty good. There are a number of different part of the point that you can surf too. I'd bring the booties because climbing in and out off the rocks is a lot easier with 'em than without 'em. I've never stepped on an urchin, but know plenty of guys who have. I am pretty sure you can camp here for an additional fee, but the camp site is kind of average, gotta bring all your own stuff. They do have a bathroom which is a relief after coming in off of the free road. It is kind of complicated to get there with the toll road still being shut down. The entrance to the parking is about 100 meters past the Ensenada toll plaza on the right hand side. Once they get that road back up it will save you a lot of time. There is a bit of a development planned that could be detrimental to the wave, or to surfers having access. Sometimes the mega projects have some 'unforeseen' externalities. It's considered pet friendly since many people camps with…read moretheir dogs and the groundskeeper has three very friendly dogs that roam the campground :) Easy to access from the highway and close to other public beaches and great food spots! The problem lies with the residents. At any moment you may be approached by a resident taking it upon themselves to police the campground visitors and impose their own version of the rules. My last visit there I was attacked by an American immigrant tenant who seemed drunk or drugged. He called me and my spouse all sorts of racial and sexist slurs and my dog was not spared from racial slurs either. All because he didn't think our dog was on a leash when in fact he was. The staff sided with us assured us this resident would be evicted because there is zero tolerance for this type of behavior, but I am not sure this actually happened. Idk if we want to go back there knowing how much of a menace these residents, especially the American ones, can be toward visitors.

You can bring your ATV's or dune buggy and spend hours on their off road course. Punta Estrella is the best place to camp in the San Felipe area. It's far away from town that you can see a billion stars but it's close enough to go get ice and supplies as needed. I highly recommend a visit even if it''s just for the day to play on the clean beach.

It is a small fishing village where locals sell their daily catch right from the coolers and trading/bartering is in order. You definitely need to speak Spanish for this. I have actually brought large, fishing type coolers here to trade for freshly caught fish or even several dozen tamales. Yes tamales too! Also a handful of older restaurants boast ocean views with fresh seafood. We prefer to drive down to the beach in my Subaru and eat right there. We went to Sarita's and it was fantastic fresh seafood. The huge pig on the beach was unexpectedly cool! Eating all the good seafood scraps I'm sure. An unverified rumor from a construction guy that worked at my house mentioned he knows someone that says the sewage outfall drain pipe down in the area is not far offshore from here. I cannot confirm this and it won't deter me from coming back at all.

We took the route that involved a little rock climbing, super slippery paths, and at one point we literally crossed a narrow plank with ropes and I was questioning my life choices lol. But once we finally got down to the beach... wow. I was SO excited. All that hard work actually paid off. The beach was beautiful and it felt so rewarding getting there. Then we started walking further down and suddenly... I realized there were a bunch of completely naked people everywhere. I had NO idea Blacks Beach was a nude beach. I was shocked for like 2 seconds and then started laughing because out of all the things I expected after surviving that hike... that was not one of them. 10/10 experience. Scary, fun, unexpected, and definitely memorable.

To the LEFT side of the beach facing the water is clothing optional. Usually its a bit farther. Great that nobody bothers you & its a safe space for that all over tan. Sometimes beverages are sold on the beach discreetly, however, I'd recommend bringing your own & lots of water. Its a good idea toto bring food, snacks, fruit and sandwiches... insect repellant if needed. *True, sometimes it is a bit overcast so its best to check the weather report before leaving. *Free parking is available above the beach.
