It stretches about 12 miles (15 km) from the Malecon…read more(boardwalk) near the port of Ensenada down to the Estero Beach Resort on the edge of Todos Santos Bay (which is as big as San Diego Bay). On a huge stretch along the middle there are no structures to be seen from the beach, which makes it very scenic and natural. Just a long stretch of sand with a gentle slope into the Pacific Ocean. The water stays shallow for a long ways into the ocean. You could probably still stand up about 50 yards out there, but the water was too cold in April to stay in that long to find out. We'll be back in Summer to try. People walk their dogs unleashed and the sun glistens off the water. Pure sand and no rocks, this beach is a delight. Wide open to the ocean, there can be strong rip currents. For a beach dude like me it rates a 4.5 stars, so I'll round it up to 5 stars.

One of the great breaks of Baja California. Everybody knows about it so don't think that you will…read morebe surfing alone, but the lineup can accommodate a good number of people and when it is working the sets can mix it up pretty good. There are a number of different part of the point that you can surf too. I'd bring the booties because climbing in and out off the rocks is a lot easier with 'em than without 'em. I've never stepped on an urchin, but know plenty of guys who have. I am pretty sure you can camp here for an additional fee, but the camp site is kind of average, gotta bring all your own stuff. They do have a bathroom which is a relief after coming in off of the free road. It is kind of complicated to get there with the toll road still being shut down. The entrance to the parking is about 100 meters past the Ensenada toll plaza on the right hand side. Once they get that road back up it will save you a lot of time. There is a bit of a development planned that could be detrimental to the wave, or to surfers having access. Sometimes the mega projects have some 'unforeseen' externalities. It's considered pet friendly since many people camps with…read moretheir dogs and the groundskeeper has three very friendly dogs that roam the campground :) Easy to access from the highway and close to other public beaches and great food spots! The problem lies with the residents. At any moment you may be approached by a resident taking it upon themselves to police the campground visitors and impose their own version of the rules. My last visit there I was attacked by an American immigrant tenant who seemed drunk or drugged. He called me and my spouse all sorts of racial and sexist slurs and my dog was not spared from racial slurs either. All because he didn't think our dog was on a leash when in fact he was. The staff sided with us assured us this resident would be evicted because there is zero tolerance for this type of behavior, but I am not sure this actually happened. Idk if we want to go back there knowing how much of a menace these residents, especially the American ones, can be toward visitors.

This port also has smaller, privately owned boats docked here, and some offer half-hour tours for a small price. Having driven down here form Tijuana, we decided to go on a boat tour right before dinner, and once again after dinner. The daytime ride was pretty cool. We were in a smaller boat, which meant we were able to feel the waves more. This was especially true when we cleared the breakwater. The waves were a bit stronger than normal that day, which made for a very fun ride. Once we got back, we ate dinner, and we were once again ready to go on another boat ride. We were hoping to ride an even smaller boat, for an even more fun ride. However, there were far less boats available at that time of night, as most ship captains had already called it a day. We were able to get a ride on a slightly bigger ship, which didn't rock as much as the previous boat. However, nightfall had already set it, which provided opportunities for some great photos and videos. This was especially true because there were two cruise liners docked in Ensenada that evening, which provided a spectacular nighttime landscape. The folks who staff this place are friendly, and the patrons are a nice crowd. The price is not high at all, it was around 210 pesos for three people. Most rides are a half hour, and I wonder if some boats will let you rent them for longer. This is a fun attraction, located along the waterway in Ensenada. If you find yourself in the tourist area of this fine town, go for a boat ride. The cool ocean breeze and sunny skies will refresh you well.

One thing, none of us speak Spanish and our three tour guides only spoke limited English, so the communication was a little tough. We are beginner riders (first time for a couple of us), so more instruction/explanation would have been nice. For instance, the stirrups weren't adjusted per rider so they were all either too short or too long. We used the transportation service to and from our ship port, and it was very convenient and timely. Our guides also took photos and videos during our ride that they sent us after, which was a nice perk! Overall great experience!

They are truly a 5 star business because they are THAT AWESOME! We booked the upscale wine tasting package and it was just the best day ever. Our driver, Jose Luis Blanco, was friendly, prompt, and just a nice and sweet guy. He made us feel safe and is just so knowledgeable as he is from Ensenada. It was just my bf and I so it felt like we had our own private driver. We went to three beautiful wineries in Valle de Guadalupe and we did not feel rushed as he patiently waited for us. The wineries weren't too busy since it was in the morning so it felt like our own VIP experience. On our way back to Ensenada he asked us if we wanted to stop for tacos or souvenirs in the downtown Ensenada area before getting back on the ship. He even let us stop at OXXO for snacks! Though we didn't do the taco and souvenir stop though we had plenty of time to do so, it was just so nice and thoughtful that he offered that! He was just the best driver! 20/10! The best part is, we were back on the ship at 3:30pm and the ship leaves at 5:30pm. They will make sure you are back with more than enough time which was my biggest concern! Even if we stopped for tacos and souvenirs, we were still back to the Ensenada area around 3:00pm from our tastings with enough time to do this and be back on the ship on time. Complete rip off!! My family and I decided to go because we could do zip line and paddle boats…read more Upon arrival at 3:30pm we were told we had time to do both until 6pm with a $55 day pass. We were finished zip lining at 5:21, we went to paddle boats and was told it closed at 5pm. Huh?! We have until 6pm! As stop by the entry office to ask for a partial refund since we were lied to about the activity being available to ride. No help whatsoever! Yeah we understand but we can't refund. I ask for the manager, who is no more than 18, and she said we had 30 minutes to cancel. Girl bye! They are so wrong not to tell me the ride closed early so I could have done that first. I would NEVER go back! Ruined our spring break.
