I came with a large group around 12:30pm and ordered off of the lunch menu, but for some reason was the only person at the table that was charged for a dinner plate and received a dinner portion. I ordered the cauliflower tacos and paid $40. I didn't get full from the tacos, but I stopped eating them because they weren't very appetizing. The cauliflower was very crunchy, lacked seasoning, and didn't really go well with the taco. Their bottomless chips and salsa were great though. The chips are so light and have the perfect crunch. The only issue is that since we had such a large group, the chips were finished about 10 minutes after we sat down and were never refilled, so we all kinda sat picking at the crumbs. While I didn't order the salad, many people that I was with did and it looked good. I am unsure of our servers name, but she was nice. She did fine for our 10 person table; She forgot to grab different drinks and refills but overall she was good, very friendly. We were sat outside, which half of us didn't know there as outdoor seating, but I would totally recommend. The weather was great, it wasn't loud nor crowded, and there weren't many bugs or anything. Overall, the food seems good, I just wouldn't recommend that a vegetarian or vegan goes here due to the very limited options.

My only complaint is that when you order takeout in person, they add a 15% takeout fee. I think that's excessive because we're not dining in, being seated, or interacting with a server--we're simply placing an order, picking it up, and taking it home. I don't really see what additional cost justifies that fee. The food is great, but the takeout fee makes ordering from here less appealing. Ambience is good.

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

A huge shout-out to our server, Oscar, who made the entire experience even better. The music, décor, and overall atmosphere created a sophisticated, grown-and-sexy vibe that made it perfect for a relaxed date lunch. It was a rainy day and my dad and I had arrived before I started grad school at Ga Tech. Our server was an Electrical Engineering student at Tech. It was appreciated after the typical chaos of moving to a new city that he happened over here my dad and I talking and he shared he went to Tech. Over the 2 decades since, I've brought friends who live here and from outside the city to enjoy the great serving and kitchen staff. My wife and I have been many times including on the restaurant's anniversary night last fall. We are sorry to hear the landlord has decided to raise the rent and sell the property. Heather has been our server multiple times. She was our server tonight as we celebrated my wife's birthday with her parents, aunt and sister. From calamari to the desert platter and entrees in between, the food was incredible. The fried lobster tails are a must. The mouse has been my wife's favorite for years. The one note is Jacob the General Manager needs to learn to trust his servers. At the beginning of the meal I let Heather know despite being a party of 7 to just bring the check to me and I'll settle up with the other guests via Venmo. And, at as we were finishing dessert, Heather came by letting me know the next party for our table was had arrived and could she bring our check. I said yes. While Heather was getting our check ($490 Food & $600+ after tip) the Manager came by telling us we needed to finish up and have our check brought. When I asked the Manager to not make this an unpleasant experience and that coming by after Heather had just communicated the situation and I had agreed she told me I should share this feedback with the General Manager. She, Jacob (GM), and I stood on the front patio where I explained what I'm sharing now: Trust your Servers. He said they were front facing and so the management likes to meet the guests. Having your Manager tell us we need to get our check and leave is not the way to meet your guests. Chef Jack and his wife (the owners) are hospitable and trust and appreciate their staff. Jacob having his Manager micromanage the servers management of tables is nowhere close the focus on service the owners have had for 26 years. I hope that Jacob and the Manager take this as a learning moment that if you hire talented people your trust talented people to bring their talents to their job. Sure it was busy. But, that's why Chef Jack hired the staff he hired. Jacob the GM needs to increase the communication with his talented team instead of using the excuse of being front facing to ever overstep their bounds on the relationship his servers have built with his guests. Heather introduced herself when we sat down. Jacob did not - nor should he have. Heather did a phenomenal job making us feel welcome, have food and drink we enjoyed, and even recognizing my wife's birthday with her favorite desert. And when the time came she handled coordinating bringing the bill and having us free the table so a new group could enjoy an evening at Agave. Jacob and the Manager need to trust their staff more. Micro-management is never a good look for your staff's morale or your guests' impressions. Please go see them for Jan 31st 2026 when they close. The servers are all wonderful as are the owners. And the food is like nothing else in Atlanta. The management simply needs to trust the talented staff from front to back of house with whom they get to work. If they're ever in doubt if a server is either providing the level of service they expect or turning tables at the rate needed to keep pace with reservations then talk to the server. The server needs to own their tables. Management should truly be of service to their staff - and you can only do that with trust and communication. Customers should never know management had a single question if the sever was doing what's needed. Because it's a bad look to come by twice about being the check. Especially when the 2nd time is in between the 1st ask if they could and the server bring the check. Of note, I already had my credit card out so that I could hand it to Heather as soon as she returned with the check. And in front of the manager, I handed Heather my credit card. Everything else was great. But, why rush guests?

We've had great experiences here in the past, which is exactly why our visit on Sunday was so disappointing. We arrived around 4 PM and were seated almost immediately. The young man who seated us let us know that our waiter would be with us shortly. He didn't give us menus, so I asked if our waiter would be bringing them. He initially said yes, then said he could get me one if I wanted one. Yes, please! About 10 minutes passed, and we watched several tables around us get seated and waited on while no one had come to our table. My husband finally went to the front desk to let them know. He was told that the young man serving the table next to us would be with us shortly, but a few minutes later a young lady named Tatiana came over and became our server. We ordered a strawberry lemonade and a soda, queso, and shared the Pappasito's Grill. We requested the steak medium-well and also ordered an extra side of beans and rice. We also had to ask for the tortillas that should have accompanied our meal. Since we were sharing the entrée, we were given only three tortillas between the two of us. We asked for additional tortillas, but unfortunately, those never came either. When our food arrived, there were several problems. The steak was closer to medium-rare than medium-well, the carrots and peppers were still basically raw, and even the bacon wrapped around the shrimp was undercooked. The chicken was really the only part of the meal that seemed properly cooked. We sent the meal back, and our waitress apologized and told us they would get us another one along with fresh, properly cooked vegetables. After waiting approximately another 30 minutes, what came back was even more disappointing. Instead of receiving what appeared to be a freshly prepared meal, it seemed that the food we had sent back had simply been cooked further. The steak that was initially undercooked was now well-done, the vegetables had been removed completely, and no replacement vegetables were brought out. By this point, the extra beans and rice sitting at our table were cold. Two different managers came by on separate occasions to apologize, which we appreciated. One of them asked if we needed anything while we waited, and my husband asked for a refill on his drink. Unfortunately, the refill never came--just like the additional tortillas we had requested earlier. To management's credit, they ultimately comped our meal, and we did appreciate them doing that. However, the food that was brought back out was left sitting on the table untouched. At that point, after the long wait, receiving undercooked food, having it returned overcooked and incomplete, and repeatedly asking for things that never arrived, we had simply lost our appetite. What makes this so disappointing is that this has NEVER been our experience at Pappasito's before. We didn't come looking for a free meal--we came because this is one of the places we genuinely look forward to eating whenever we're in Atlanta. Unfortunately, after this experience, we'll be taking a break from Pappasito's for a while. I truly hope this was just an unusually bad day because this was nowhere near the food or service we've come to know and enjoy over the years.
