Asian Market and Sushi Bar - Kimchi fried rice

She did well to make sure we were taken care of, but she was not challenged. Though there was good variety on the menu, we dropped in for some ramen or other soups. They had a spicy seafood udon, but I ordered the wonton ramen, which came in a a white broth. The noodles were cooked well and had plenty of shrimp wontons I got to try Liz's spicy beef ramen that came in a metal tin. Hot spicy red broth. Plenty of beef, broccoli tips, and cabbage. It was pretty good. Not the best I had, but it came out smoking hot. I also ordered the kimchi fried rice. It was very good and the cook dropped a sesame seed topped fried egg on top. For $9, it was amazing. Plenty enough for two, but it's a meal for one. Plenty of parking in a shared parking lot of Dyer. There's an Asian market next door, but we didn't stop there. I did want to buy some longonisa for the house, but next time I'd come back to try out more food and grab some hard to find groceries, for sure.

I've had it bookmarked since I moved here in 2020, but I never found it because it looked like a closed strip mall. I always ended up at Kalbi House across the way instead. Did you know they have amazing lunch specials? Their menu is extensive, featuring not only sushi but also delicious Korean dishes like Kimchi fried rice! It was legit--perfectly cooked with a generous portion. The egg was wonderfully yolky, too! And here's a fun twist: you can grab a huge drink next door! At first, I was confused when the waitress mentioned it, but then I realized it's a mini Asian market! My mind was blown! You wouldn't expect such a tidy little market behind that drab building with odd parking. I honestly thought it was a laundromat or a vape shop! The owner, who was Indian, came out and offered me a sample of Kalbi. It was interesting because I had some Kalbi short ribs from Economy that I wanted them to try, as theirs came from Sam's and the cut wasn't quite right. The marinade was tasty, but they might have gone a bit heavy on the sesame seeds. The meat was a little chewy, likely because it steamed instead of grilling properly. I hope they start using Economy's Kalbi cuts to improve that! The pricing is really fair, and this market is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for affordable and delicious Korean or Chinese food in the Northeast. I'll definitely be back for that Kimchi fried rice! Check them out at 5700 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904!

I had a friend dinner to attend with my partner and upon arrival I was surprised to see that a steakhouse resided within. This two story restaurant has a main dining floor and bar on the first floor and a semi-private balcony/event space on the second floor. The staff here is super attentive and I really enjoyed the dimly lit environment. Hearing live vocals from a vocalist was such a nice touch and really made it feel so romantic. Garufa's menu features different cuts of steak, pastas, empanadas, salads, sides, and a few small bites. Their empanadas are so freaking delicious (a bit pricey) and arrive cut up in halves. Their signature cheese empanada was super scrumptious and the crust was flaky with each bite feeling airy. My partner and I shared the alfredo pasta with their freshly made alfredo sauce and pasta, one of their steaks (16oz but can't recall the cut), and a few of their sides. WOW - everything was so dang good and I honestly could've get enough of the mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. I wish they had a few zero proof cocktails but perhaps that'll change by the next time I go back. All in all everything was super good and I had a great time!

Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger.

We ordered the flautas with chipotle sauce and the chilaquiles with half red and half green sauce. The chilaquiles were absolutely amazing. We added a runny egg since we couldn't do chicken, and it gave the dish extra flavor and a good boost of protein. The flautas (which I'd honestly describe more as taquitos dorados) were crunchy and tasty. We liked the chipotle sauce that came with them, but we actually loved dipping them into the chilaquile sauce even more. Overall, it was a great spot to grab breakfast before hitting the road again for many more hours. Highly recommend!

Sadly the pricing reflects the fact that you're in El Paso. Nearly double what you'd pay at a Chinese market. So that stinks. It beggars can't be choosers. Some of the items didn't look too fresh and it was a little dusty in some spots. So not a lot of rotation of products. But overall was happy to grab some dumplings and egg rolls!

Wan Jia Le has pretty good reviews so we wanted to check out what they had! The store is in a little strip mall right off the highway but the sign is big so you can't really miss it. They have a pretty big space so I was naturally excited to see what they had. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of products they sold but unfortunately they were missing a few stuff I was looking for. I noticed certain items they keep low stock of as well. The chip aisle definitely looked like most of the products had been sitting there a while. I noticed the produce didn't look the freshest either. They also offer fresh seafood options but I would be wary of that since I don't know how long the fish have been sitting in the tanks. Overall, Wan Jia Le supermarket is a pretty decent spot if you're nearby and know that they carry what you're looking for. But honestly I'd rather go to Arirang Market closer to the northeast side of town. They had EVERYTHING I was looking for and their stock seems to be newer and rotated often.

It was abundantly deliciously fresh! CC's cream of Chili is a must try and one of the very best value on the menu! My grilled Angus Tenderloin was simply perfectly cooked medium rare. The side dish was a well prepared with an oven cooked gratin dauphinois. The rest of the party tried their Chilean Seabass and they were not disappointed. For dessert we had a crème brûlée and a rich 24k Gold bar chocolate cake with some port so you can expect that the bill was steep - but in my mind justified. They burned my burger and still sent it out. My server was lackluster and I can firmly say that because I watched him give good service to another table! The chef did send something out to make up for it. By the way skip the dessert platter. What in the "fell off a US foods truck" did I just eat? Flavorless ice cream? A month old strawberry that was opened from a package? Creme brulee with bitter topping? C'mon you're not even trying here. The only time I heard the manager speak was when he was shuffled away by the guy that wouldn't give him the time of day otherwise (table getting good service) and when he was saying inappropriate things around my table in Spanish, thinking we couldn't understand. I then found out when my wife was going to the restroom, she turned around to close the stall and the manager was staring at her from the lobby, which stopped her from wanting to use the restroom altogether. Avoid this trashy place. What the heck? What restaurant did everyone else eat at??
