I visited this business last Summer and posted a disappointing review on Trip Advisor. The business responded saying they remembered me and blamed the terrible service on the Barcelona terrorist attacks. Well, they must be remembering someone else because we were there two weeks before the attacks. Trip Advisor does not seem to allow rebuttals, so I am posting a copy of my original review here and lowered their rating due to their dishonest reply.
First, I would like to qualify this review by mentioning that the Flamenco show was good. The musicians and dancers were very talented and the show was entertaining.
Second, I would like to say that we were not interested in their pre-fix menu options. We were attending the show with kids, and we didn't think they would eat any of those options.
Prior to booking, I emailed the restaurant to ask if they had kids options. They responded that they could provide a few child friendly options such as pasta or croquettas. I also asked if the adults could also order off of the a'la carte menu which they also said was possible.
Upon arriving, we were told that no children's options were available. No pasta. No croquettas. Nothing. They gave us an a'la carte menu for the adults. There were a few items we had seen on their website, but the menu in the restaurant is completely different. The items on the website (some of which we were looking forward to) were not available. I decided on the rib-eye from their in-restaurant menu. Sorry, we're out they said. Giving up on the idea of dining there, we wound up not ordering food and going elsewhere after the show.
It was disappointing that they were unable to accommodate the children as promised, that their website menu was horribly out of date and that even items on their menu were not available. It seems that they cater to tour groups who book the standard menu. Everyone else is not a priority.
If you are not a member of a tour group or don't want their pre-fix options, I would recommend going elsewhere. They paid very little attention to us, focusing more on the large tables of tourists.
To the Bodega - please update your website menu and don't tell people you have children's options unless you can actually provide them. read more
