This bakery is conveniently located next to the little village arch. There is a huge parking lot, at no additional cost. I came here to pick up some pan dulce, it has been years since I had some of la baguettes pan. As you walk in, there's already an overwhelming amount of bread on the shelves and on carts. They have plenty of variety for you to pick from. I didn't know where to even start! I grabbed a tray and added some of my favorites. I will say their chocolate donuts are really good! It was the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet-- just ideal. Service was fast and adequate.

They have a huge selection of treats, my favorites being the conchas and churros. I usually pick random things that look good, and they usually are good. If you have no concept of how much it costs at these kinds of bakeries, I'll tell you, you can get about 10 pieces of bread for like $7. Depends what you get, too, of course. But it's very cheap. You won't be paying $7 for a single piece of bread, that's for sure. There was only one instance when I went on a Saturday afternoon where the displays were pretty empty (how do you run out of conchas at a Mexican bakery????) and what was left was not very fresh. But I have been here several times, and it's not typically that bad.

    Tres Leches $3.25

I decided to polish off my charbroiled chicken from Pollo Feliz with tres leches cake from La Baguette. For $3.25 you get a well portioned, square sized cake. As far as bakeries go, I think this location has the best tres leches. However, Kristoffer's and El Ranchito are still on the top of my list. Besides cakes, they have an eyeful of bread and pastries. I also tried the donut but it was pretty bad. So after trial and error of other Mexican bakeries, I'm gonna conclude I'm not a huge fan of Mexican pastries in Chicago. Gonna stick to the items in the show room fridgerated section.

Im not sure if all this bread, cookies, and cakes are fresh But what can I tell you I see many flies here now like 8 inside the store rigth now

Very bad costumer service done by manager. Purchased a " Rosca de Reyes" and when I cut it in a family reunion everyone was disappointed because the "rosca" was filled up with some kind of red jelly, no were at the bakery display saw some sort of sign that described the extra flavor added to the "rosca" , roscas traditionally are baked with no filling inside. When I realized my "rosca" was filled with this sort of jelly called the bakery to ask about an exchange since I dont like this kind of " Rosca" I was put on hold while the employee asked the manager but then she said that the manager said that it was my own fault and that I should asked about the item before purchase , Told the employee that how come was my responsibility to know how they elaborate their products but she just said she was and employee , I asked to talk to the manager but was told the manager was too busy and to call back some other time . LA BAGUETTE BAKERY IS A VERY BAD PLACE TO HAVE BUSINESS WITH.

An extremely authentic Mexican bakery. Its so authentic, most people here do not speak English. The baked goods/pastries are displayed openly (not covered in glass) but do not have labels so you have no idea what you are looking at. What you see is what you get, unless you take it home to find out whats inside what you bought. You can try your lucky by asking someone here what the pastry is made of or what the inside filling is. I bought an apple turnover, a butterfly cookie, and some other flaky pastry covered in cinnamon and sugar. All of it was delicious and only cost me $2.40!!!!! They have many cakes for special occasions and chocolate covered fruits here like a typical bakery. They accept credit cards here but require a $5 minimum charge. The one thing I didnt like was that I saw a few flies flying around that sometimes landed on the pastries. Needless to say I didnt buy THOSE pastries. I dont know if the flies ever got to my items but nothing a little nuking in the microwave couldnt solve!

There's a taco, tortas, y más separated by a glass wall. I mistakenly thought it was Dona's Tortas, but it's not. Fresh bread is only one of the ingredients in the torturas. I had La Bomba and it was awesome. We're back for huevas today!!

This is an amazing place to get unique pastries. They are open early and very easy to select and buy the doughnuts and pastries.

Cinco de Mayo at Barrio was EVERYTHINGGG…read more We fully committed to the holiday and ordered honestly the entire menu and somehow every single thing that came out was better than the last. Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. One of those dinners where you leave already talking about when you're coming back If you're looking for the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, date night, tacos & margaritas, or honestly just an incredible dinner in general... this is IT

When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. We ordered chilaquiles; one with chicken and one with carnitas. It was not bad but way spicier than anticipated, and we like spicy food. Service was also not great. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

We started off with chips and salsa, and the salsa was a bit too spicy for me, but everyone else enjoyed it. We started with the Chicken Poblano - a savory dish with creamy poblano sauce mixed with chicken and sliced poblano peppers topped with corn. We all enjoyed it. Most of the reviews recommended the enchiladas and we ordered a variety of them. The Enchiladas Poblanos stuffed with chicken and cheese. The poblano sauce was rich and smoky. We also had the Enchiladas Morita. They were filled with shrimp and cheese. It was so flavorful and the morita chile added so much flavor. Each dish was served with a side jicama salad. Their special was a shrimp pasta with lobster. It came with full lobster tail. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. It is also BYOB, which is a nice option. Service was excellent, friendly offered recommendations. This is probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and highly recommend.

It was a hot, humid day, but apparently it was warmer inside than on their sidewalk seating, so we dined outside. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Torta ($13.75) and I chose the Shrimp Torta ($14.50). Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options. Would actually go 4.5 stars based on those 2 factors, but gave the benefit of the extra half star due to how good our service was and the excellent flavor of the veggie sandwich.
