Eggs Benedict with sides of "home fries" and fresh fruits.
    Mark B.

You're going to want to plan in advance if necessary, otherwise you will face a wait. We were there for FIERTÉ MONTRÉAL, and got there a little before everyone so we didn't have a wait. Food: Great. I had a classic eggs Benedict, with a side of potatoes and a bowl of various fruits. I also had the coffee, and classic mimosa. My husband had pineapple mimosa. Each was great. His scrambled eggs looked super fluffy and good, and my bene was very tasty. Service: For the volume of people, it was especially great. I was often prompted/asked if I wanted more coffee, which I accepted most of the refills. Ambiance: A bit busy and hectic, open diner style but generally a good, cozy atmosphere for a morning brunch. Just get there earlier so you can get seated.

I had breakfast here two days in a row. Very large portions. Great: Surprisingly, the breakfast potatoes. Amazing! Fruit cup (I don't even like fruit that much. It was just a side with breakfast #2, but had bananas, strawberries, watermelon, two other melons, a green grape, a red grape and blueberries. I was impressed) The bacon (not greasy!) 4 pieces! The toast. Pre-buttered and excellent and large. Good: the service, the eggs, the pancakes. All fine. Not great: Waffle (no taste). Would never order again. I would recommend this place and will go back (for those potatoes!)

I WANT TO COME BACK HERE! The breakfast was so good, easy on the wallet for the amount of food you get. The sausage tastes so good and the potatoes are cut pretty large as well! My friends found the crepe to be a perfect balance of fruit and sweets!

Loved it and I will be back! Staff was wonderful, food was delicious, there were so many options!

What a great breakfast place! Such a varied menu and very good food and reasonable prices. They have about 15 varieties of eggs Benedict alone! Plus omelets et other egg dishes and etc etc.

Cute petite place for breakfast in the our beloved gay village. We were lucky that we didn't have to wait in the line, because there was a line up afterwards. Service is so good, the servers were offering mini orange juice to customers while they wait. Our waitress was really good and efficient too. Coffee was served within the minutes, but It tasted dry , so it was average. Food was ordered, and they arrived promptly. My whole family enjoyed their dishes. Personally, I had vegetarian egg poutine breakfast; it was delicious... potatoes slightly overcooked though. Lovely restaurant, at at lovely spot, with good service... definitely recommended!

Got a delivery from this brunch restaurant. This might be a wrong decision in the beginning because French fries were becoming a bit soggy and not crispy any more. The egg Benedict was still in good shape and as many other reviewers pointed up, the proportion was quite generous. Liked the fruit salad the most from the egg Benedict as it was not really impacted by the delivery process. The cheese sandwich was okay. I will probably need to try it out in the restaurant next time.

The portions are huge and the food is really good. They also have unlimited refills on their black coffee and the staff is very friendly.

I want to like this place more than I did. I honestly do but the food, the service, the ambience was mediocre. Duck Confit Benedict - kind of bland, duck was on the drier side, egg was more well done than I'd like. Patiti - no complaints; a good crispy but nothing special. On the plus side, the fruit was fresh and sweet! Generally, I find smaller restaurants cozy. The interior was cute but this place felt a bit cramped. The tables were so close together it was difficult to maneuver around without feeling like I was going to hit someone in the face with my bag. I came here a little after noon on Saturday and some how immediately managed to snag a two seat table. There was definitely a table wait for groups of four and more though. It was busy enough that the servers weren't able to attend to us in a timely manner and even forgot about us a few times. Personally, this place isn't worth a wait but is okay otherwise. By the time we finished, the restaurant had pretty much cleared out.

Another excellent meal. The Mac and cheese with the egg on top was super delicious. Make sure you keep your spoon to scoop up the sauce at the bottom of your bowl. It's finger licking good!!! Best Mac and cheese I've had ever....the egg on top really added to the dish along with the ricotta cheese. HIGHLY recommend a stop here if you're ever in Montreal!!!

While delirious and on no sleep, we were desperate for a place to refuel with coffee and food. L'Oeufrier was close enough from the bus station and had decent ratings. We sat down at the table closest to the kitchen. Our place mats were a menu for their shakes, smoothies, and mega shakes with toppings like a whole waffle. Their actual menu resembled kind of like a comic book on the cover. They had many pages because they serve everything for breakfast apparently! To drink, we had a cappuccino and regular cafe filtre. To eat, we had the Italian eggs Benedict and the Je Me Souviens. I took a bite of the Italian eggs Benedict and holy sh**, it was amazing! The Je Me Souviens literally was a giant plate of different breakfast foods. The French toast was AMAZING. The white toast with butter was amazing too surprisingly! I finished every last bit of food on my plate, including the fruit. I'll definitely return whenever I'm in Montréal.

Went for a nice brunch here while visiting Montréal. Portions were fantastic and everything was great. The staff was so nice and welcoming even though we spoke little French. Would visit Montréal again specifically for this restaurant

Super cute interior, but food was just so-so for me. I came here with a few friends and waited for probably around half an hour to an hour on a Saturday afternoon. The staff was super friendly and offered orange juice samples while we were waiting. Once we were seated, I order the classic eggs benedict. I knew that this would be great because most places make this right so that's why I ordered it. I wasn't the fan of the eggs as they were practically over cooked. As well, the hollandaise sauce wasn't as flavourful as I'm used to other places. Lastly, the hashbrowns/ potatoes weren't my favourite. It was too dry for me. My favourite would be the drink that I ordered. It was a green juice that was so good! Super refreshing and yummy! Service was amazing tho! The staff was super friendly! I personally wouldn't come back because I didn't enjoy the food much.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

I would assume many were customers first and then realized that this would be a chill place to eat. With my progeny, I almost made the mistake of eating in the Old Port. I mean, maybe chocolate crepes for dinner would have been more consumed than the healthier cheese and chicken alternatives at Chez Jose, but the relaxing vibe, and wholesomeness of it all, made me so relieved that I didn't settle for a tourist trap. I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The exterior is this new building, but inside, it feels like you're in an old building with rustic textures and colours. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too.
