Who would've thought that this plain, unassuming spot that has a pretty ordinary chain restaurant feel, would end up being one of the highlights of my trip to Montreal? I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and attentiveness of our server, considering how busy the place was. The service was fast, the food was excellent-really generous portions, savory, cooked really well and presented attractively. I had an honey goat cheese omelette with peppers, red onions, arugula and a delicious balsamic sauce drizzled on top. It was served with cubed potatoes and the best rye toast I've ever had. My son enjoyed his Nutella and strawberry crepes. Their coffee was great and they provide unlimited refills of it while you eat. We loved it so much that we returned the following day and I had perfectly fluffy blueberry pancakes with English cream which was so good it makes regular whipped cream seem like nonsense lol...my son had banana waffles and Nutella. This spot is a local friend's favorite. Modern Diner decor and on a Monday around 11 am slightly busy. Mostly Brunch/Lunch including Crepes-an abundance of options to choose from. Ordered a Choco Coco De Luxe which was marked as a favorite. Eggs over easy with sausage and a tasty Crepe filled with strawberries. Hearty dish and pure comfort! Two of the Specials (Allo Mon Coco) were ordered also-the pancakes with Hazelnut spread took it over the top. Service was friendly and upbeat with our food arriving in a timely manner. We had a great experience here! Thanks to Yelp reviewers, we found this restaurant very close to our hotel. My husband and I each had Eggs Benedict (I had the pretty traditional du Chef, he had one with smoked meat), and on the advice of our wonderful server, Alexandra, we both tried the house specialty potatoes. We had breakfast here on our first day in Montreal. The restaurant is nice and very spacious. We both ordered omelettes and the allo mon coco potatoes (basically mashed home fries). The omelettes were very good and we really enjoyed the potatoes. The food was good, but not outstanding. Our server was nice and made sure my coffee was filled most of the time, but he kind of forgot about us toward the end of our meal. It was hard to flag him down for our bill. read more

Really nice chain of breakfast and brunch restaurants. The menu is large but mostly focuses on egg dishes, there are some sandwiches and wraps as well. I got an omelette, my husband got two eggs with bacon on the side and our friend France, got a Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. The food was very good. A well rounded selection for breakfast and lunch. One thing to keep in mind is that the staff can not make substitutions Because they are a franchise, the rules only allow for subtractions from the entrees on the menu. In other words, they can not sell a bagel with sour cream, but they could provide a bagel with salmon, sans the salmon for the same price, and bring your own cream cheese. The service was outstanding. Many of the staff remembered us morning after morning. They ask if the customer prefers English or French and will deal with either language. The feeling in Coco is like a good breakfast place near the Atlantic Ocean at the Jersey shore in the summertime. There is a big multi-layered round light in the middle of the restaurant with at least 100 spatulas neatly fitted into each row. The only problem with Coco is its location. There are many beggars, homeless people and drug addicts approaching you from all sides. After a while you learn to avoid eye contact, although this is not a fool proof plan. We still got people asking for change, cigarettes and one woman who was screaming at me in French and followed me two blocks to Coco. A little later she started a fight with another poor soul and she went away with Montreal PD. So good breakfast places are hard to find in the UQAM neighborhood, just keep your head down, don't replay to the taunts and enjoy a great breakfast. read more

A very ok dining experience overall. The waitress was kind and the restaurant was clean and trendy. The Reuben sandwiches quite good (we loved the quality of the brioche bread they used!), but we were left very disappointed by the quality of the cassaroll. It was a big jumble of a mess that did not look nor taste good. We also spent $8 on a small Berries and Pomegranate "smoothie" which honestly had the texture of foamy, watered-down milk - not at all what I would expect when ordering a smoothie. Me and my husband attended this establishment right after a long drive from Maryland and couldn't wait to try some yummy food here. Well, that's exactly what we did. We ended up waiting for at least 30 minutes before our server came to just bring us some waters. Then, he told us to wait a minute without taking our orders before disappearing again. We waited another 10 minutes for the guy to take our orders. Bear in mind, the restaurant was not busy at all and had three waiters that were being very attentive to everyone else. I was ready to leave after the first 30 minutes but my husband wanted to give the guy a chance. Our food was brought out by another waitress who was disappointed to find out that the guy waiter did not even bring us silverware. We were not checked on once after getting our food. My husband even had to get up to chase down the waiter to pay for our bill so we can leave. I gave the establishment 2 stars because the food and drinks was extremely good. I had no complaints there. I think that the tall guy server with long dark hair just needs some extra training on how to be attentive with customers. We felt like a burden to him and that he did not really want to be there. I knew that I would like this place when I saw that they used whisks around the main ceiling light as decoration! Service was fast. It seems they had several people bringing out our order so that the waitresses could take down others orders quickly. The potatoes were fresh, hot and delicious no matter what form they took. My goodness, our food came with the largest fruit bowl as a side ever and not just the tired hard pieces of melon and grapes. Just so colorful and flavorful! A few of us got Eggs Benedict, but no matter what we got, it was up to that point the best breakfast that we had in Montreal. We thought about going there again, but we always want to try new things. I had low expectations going in since it's one of multiple locations....and my experiences with chain-like establishments are usually less than stellar. But Allô! Mon Coco should not be missed. First and foremost...it's extremely clean. There's also plenty of seating and the service is very friendly. The only glitch that we experienced was that one breakfast was served at least five minutes prior to the other. That said, I would rather receive hot and fresh food then allow one of the entrées sit under hot lights while the other is being prepared. One of the special omelettes was ordered that contained brie, caramelized apples and bacon. The side of potatoes was a small mountain along with a couple of slices of fresh fruit. Great reviews on said omelette. It was also served with very thick slices of buttered toast and plenty of spreads to slather. I decided to go all out and order a platter of food that had a little bit of everything: banana/chocolate hazelnut crepe, eggs, potatoes, fresh fruit and bacon. Oh yeah, and it's served with a side of toast as well. Sweet and savory? Yep. Everything arrived hot, fresh and cooked to order. (I asked for the potatoes to be a bit more well done and they were..without burning 'em!). Great quality on everything. I would absolutely come back here for breakfast or brunch when I'm back in town. I completely went over my calorie limitation for the day already....but who cares. One word to sum up my experience here....AMAZING. from the food to the service to ambiance.... The food is really good...I had the BLT sandwich and it came with tho best potatoes I've ever eaten...my partner got the choco moco which is a banana chocolate crepe...I loved the bananas and chocolate but don't care for crepes but he said it was very good and it must have been cause he ate the whole thing. As with every place in Montreal Thus far the service has been impecable. Fast and friendly which I have come to realize must be a Montreal thing. The restaurant was busy but it didn't slow the speed or friendly service down one bit...our server was smiling and chatted a bit and seemed to really enjoy what she does. This place is the upscale- Canadian- better version of iHop. I simply LOVED this place. There are endless options on the menu, the portions are huge, and the food is amazing. Each portion comes with so many different things such as fluffy toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes, a crepe or french toast or waffles, eggs. It's to die for! I ordered an Iced Cappucino. Even though it came out with whipped cream and chocolate chips and was a bit too sweet for me, I really enjoyed it. My bf really enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice as well. He got the fried chicken and waffles which came with egg, bacon, potatoes, and toast. I got a plate that came with fried eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, a banana pancake, fluffy white toast, baked beans, and this Canadian version of pork paté. Everything was amazing. So far we had a good streak of amazing breakfast in Montréal and were hoping to continue it at Allô. We walked in and the restaurant looked very much like a diner, kind of similar to IHOP in the US. We were seated after a 5 minute wait in a booth. Their menu is huge and everything involves combinations of bacon, eggs, sausage, ham, toast, potatoes, French toast, waffles and pancakes (I'm sure I'm leaving out some options.) We went with cappuccinos to drink and a Bon Matin and Guzzler breakfast. The food was good and service was pretty prompt despite how busy it was. It was maybe a couple of steps up from an IHOP or a Denny's. I'm not sure if it's always so busy on a Sunday morning or if it was just Pride Parade crowd but it seems to be frequented by many Montréal locals. Today we are trying out their specialty dish. It comes with eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, potatoes, beans, some paste thing, a pancake, and toast. I've been craving brunch for a while so I was excited for this. All the food was good but I was not a huge fan of the paste thing. It reminded me of tuna to be honest. The eggs were made well and so were the meats. I would've preferred if the potatoes were a bit crispier though. The pancake was fluffy and had banana in it which was a nice touch. The place looked like a regular brunch place but it was really busy which is a good thing. I was conflicted on which breakfast to pick from as there were so many and our waitress was very helpful in answering my questions. There was so much food on this plate I couldn't finish. I guess those carbs really filled me up. The pricing was similar to what I would get in Toronto but in Toronto sometimes I finish my meal and would have wished for more. This was definitely not the case here. All in all, not only was the food and portion sizes great here, I had a fun time trying to pronounce the name of this place as it was so unique. I freaking love this place like love love love. My 2nd time in Montréal and of course we had to squeeze in a visit at Allô Mon Coco even though we were here for like a day and a half lol shows how much I cannot get enough of this place. First off the decor of this place is super cute, bright and just a fun comfy vibe. The service every time I've been here have always been excellent. Nice people all around. As for the food, I love myself yummy breakfast at an affordable rate and this is what you'll find here. Everything is affordable and their portions are huge and filling. My sister and I are in love with their potatoes, so creamy and tasty. I could eat their potatoes everyday along with their French toast which is just as delicious. I wish they would have give just more than one slice. My cousin and I were seriously contemplating going back the next morning for some more French toast before we heading back to NY. I'm so sad now that we didn't. I also like that they serve beef salami which I don't see at other restaurant. It's so so good and they give a lot. This is my go to spot when I'm in Montréal. This place is the restaurant you would go-to if you want a little bit of everything. I've always wanted to go to a place where I can have waffles with cream and strawberries and bananas as well as eggs and bacon and home fries. No where in Toronto will you find this and even if you do, it is quite expensive ... But Allo Mon Coco serves this combo to you for a price of $15! Very affordable and it's a bit of everything that you wish for in a breakfast. It's absolutely amazing. And a really great hangover breakfast food. We visited Montreal and stayed in Chinatown, and asked the front desk staff for a breakfast recommendation. Without hesitation they recommended this place and it did not disappoint! The wildberry crepe was huge, slightly puffier than you might expect a crepe to be, and filled with a cup of fresh berries and a large amount of whipped vanilla-ey English cream. (A delicious novelty for this American!) My mom raved about her Eggs Benedict and we were amazed at the giant fresh fruit cup that came with it. The cubed potatoes were delicious too. This was an amazing find. It is a chain, but it is well done. The atmosphere was very relaxing and delightful. Jazz and blues music played overhead. A large TV with the news subtitled off to the side. Fake grass in front of mirrors. And lots of open, well lit space. Very relaxing. Decided to try this place for a brunch as it was close to our hotel. The ambiance was great but the food was just ok. When we got our cappuccinos it was served cold to us. When food is served, presentation plays a big part. But presentation of the omelette was not good. Sausages were missed from one of the order.
